This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 105th St. & Ocean, Va. Beach, Va., this 8th day of December, 1931, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [275], through Membership 1-b of her father, Mr. [378], in the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: We have the body, [275] - this we have had before. In many ways and manners we find there are general improvements in the physical forces of the body. While there are still those conditions wherein the perfect normal functioning of the physical organism is hindered, these conditions have been so arrested that there is a gentle (but sure) improvement in this relationship. While disturbances come occasionally, when too long standing or too much exercise is had, this may be expected where erasions have taken place so thoroughly as to cause not only a weakened condition but an unstable one also.

  2. We would find that, were the length of the limb so enhanced - as not to make so much weight UPON this when in movement or activity, this would be helpful to the body in its movements or activities. Not sufficient as to become bunglesome, clumsy, overweight, unsightly, or the like - but that there may be a nearer equilibrium when in activity. This may be prepared in the normal way for such conditions.

  3. In the matter of the amount of calcium, and of the properties necessary for the prevention of erasion or erosion, we would keep much of that as has been outlined - in the ash and in the light, only using the mullein stupes should there be pain or an OVER amount of exercise as to cause any character of inflammation, and the manipulations sufficiently often to keep the rest of the body in accord. This may be best judged by the body’s OWN feelings as to the NECESSITIES for keeping coordinations through the physical functionings OF the body. At times this may be twice or three times a week; at others it may be that much a month.

  4. In the matter of supplying the calcium and other elements, as phosphorus and salts for the system, in a diet, much of THIS nature - these may be found to be most helpful:

  5. At least once or twice a week the sea foods may be taken, especially clams, oysters, shrimp or lobster, or these may be alternated or changed to suit the taste of the body. The oyster or clam should be taken raw as much as possible; while the others prepared through roasting or boiling with the butter, would be better than prepared in other manners. Then, a GENERAL outline:

  6. Mornings - citrus fruits, cereals or fruits, but do not mix citrus fruits and cereals, though stewed fruits may be taken; or citrus fruits, and a little later rice cakes, or buckwheat or Graham cakes, with honey IN the honeycomb, with milk or the like, and PREFERABLY the raw milk IF certified milk!

  7. Noons - rather vegetable juices than meat juices, with raw vegetables as a salad or the like.

  8. Evenings - vegetables, with such as carrots, peas, salsify, red cabbage, yams or white potatoes - these the smaller variety, with the jackets the better; using as the finishing, or dessert, those of blancmange or jello, or jellies, with fruits - as peaches, apricots, fresh pineapple, or the like. These, as we find, with the occasional sufficient meats for strength, would bring a well balanced diet.

  9. Occasionally we would add those of the blood building, once or twice a week. The pig knuckles, tripe and calves’ liver, or those of BRAINS and the like. See? Ready for questions.

  10. (Q) Is hair growth improving? (A) Improving. We would find that a massage occasionally of the hair, with the JUICES of Irish potato pressed out - combined with olive oil and white vaseline, nearly equal parts, would facilitate its growth and will keep a NORMALCY in the scalp. It would be well to keep the present GROWTH, unless it - the heaviness of same - makes for weariness in eyes or headaches, see?

  11. (Q) Is body walking too much? (A) Rather, if we would alter to that as has been given, it would make this much easier. Not too MUCH, but too much under the present strain that is brought to the body, at times tires or wearies the body.

  12. (Q) What rubs should be continued and how often? (A) Well were those of the olive oil and myrrh continued, or using those in that MANNER as has been outlined would be well - not too OFTEN, but SUFFICIENTLY so that the circulation may be kept in the locomotary centers, and that the limbs may be kept in a normal development.

  13. (Q) How often should ultra-violet and carbon ash be taken? (A) Once each week, as we find, in the present, would be sufficient - unless there are indications of too much soreness arising in the joint.

  14. (Q) What teeth need attention? (A) We would have them ALL gone over!

  15. (Q) Is body getting enough iodine? (A) If it will do as we have outlined, it will get more iodine - or the proper balance.

  16. (Q) How much Citro-Carbonate should body take? (A) When NECESSARY to make a balance in the alkalin, or to reduce the acidity. This may be judged best by the body in its activities. If there’s a feeling of belching, or a rising of grease or of the acids of the stomach, then a teaspoonful in a glass of water, or a teaspoonful stirred in until the glass is full. This taken WHEN necessary. May be once in two days, may be every day, or may be once in a week - see?

  17. (Q) What setting up exercises would benefit body? (A) Rather those not of setting up, but a swinging motion of the body, at retiring time, of the lower limbs, and an action of the body in the mornings from the waist up - arms, head and neck.
