This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of February, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2792], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via her sister, Mrs. [2936].

Born May 16, 1899, in New York City. Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - ” - ‘42 - ‘41 - years of confusion, disappointments in some - ‘40 - ‘38 - changes; not stable enough in self - ‘36 - ‘29 - anxieties from other sources, yet happiness in some respects - ‘27 - ‘18 - changes - ” etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2792].

4. (Some unusual surroundings at the birth of this entity!)

5. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, we find that many of the urges latent and manifested are in a period of contradiction for the entity.

6. Thus, the entity is one that at many periods in its experience may easily become confused.

7. Yet from these records we would choose that which if applied in the present may become a helpful influence for the entity.

8. One very capable in many respects.

9. One that desires a home and its quietness, yet is inclined to seek also a career. This in itself, because of the very nature, apparently brings confusion. Both may be had, yet it requires a great deal of effort and determination on the part of the entity; to leave each of these influences in the sphere and scope of its own activity, and not carry one into the other.

10. The activities as respecting a career may be had in any business requiring detail, accuracy, judgment, and a great deal of planning. In any fields of service requiring such activities the entity may from the material angle succeed, but it would require that the entity have complete charge of the polices of such an undertaking. This is necessary, as will be seen from the latent and manifested urges, - not only from the applications in the earthly sojourns but in the expressions during the interims.

11. The same would apply in the home. While the entity must not be dictatorial as to policies, if it would have the greater blessings of the home and its environs and surroundings, and the love and appreciation of its offspring, but in general the entity should so act, so conduct self in its relationships, and in creating that form of environment desired, that the policies be above reproach and the entity’s thoughts appreciated.

12. This, again, would require, does require, a great deal of diplomacy; else we will find such confusions as would arise as to not only cause unpleasantness but work to the detriment even of the very physical welfare of the entity itself; especially at certain periods when changes are necessarily made in relationships borne to individuals in its own family circle.

13. We find urges from Mars, Mercury, Venus and Uranus. And in each of these, Mars, Mercury and Venus are afflicted - as well as sustained - in Uranian urges.

14. Thus periods arise when there is over-exaltation as to its mental capacities, hopes and aspirations, as well as periods of depression - these have been and are to the entity the order of the experience.

15. But there are high mental abilities, the ability to direct the policies of material associations in any form of activity requiring great detail; whether applying to plain office work as in records, costs, etc., or whether in the more prosaic - as hats of dresses, or garments worn close to the body. These all have their interests, as will be seen. Yet there will be required a great deal of affability, and a great deal of patience practised in the experience of the entity.

16. Jupiter gives the associations with masses, through individual effort.

17. Venus gives the love of home.

18. Mars and Mercury give the urges for business relationships.

19. As to appearances in the earth, - not a great many of these are indicated as influencing the entity in this particular period; though there have been others that have been ment and are being disposed of - as might be termed - in the present environs, - as in the relationship with some of its offspring, and in relationship to its friends.

20. The ability to make friends is apparent in itself. The ability to keep them is something else in the experience of the entity, requiring the practising of affability as well as of patience, and the adherence to an ideal, - not only of a mental or spiritual nature but that may be coordinant with a practical application of same in relationship with others.

21. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods when there was the establishing of a great fur trade in this particular center.

22. The entity was among those gifted in the abilities to match or to select those that would be the more suited to many of the customers, not only locally but the preparing of the furs, in matching or dyeing, or in their combinations for use in other sections of the country.

23. The name then was Rebecca Doschar. The entity gained materially, gained a great deal in the application of business ability and even sagacity at times. And these abilities in themselves make for conflicting forces at times in the present.

24. The abilities to read or study, the interest in things of an unusual nature, or of the occult or psychic nature - as implied from the Uranian influence, also become a part of the applications; because of associations and relations with varied lands through that experience.

25. Before that the entity was in the Promised land, during those periods when there were changes being wrought by the throwing off of the old regime, when new associations were being made between those of the Roman and the Promised Land.

26. There the entity was among the Roman peoples, but established or born in the Promised Land. Thus the entity was acquainted with many of the activities of those peoples and the aversions held by certain groups, especially in religious groups, to foreigners or those of other thought.

27. Because of the associations that had to do with the material gains, though, the entity was in the position of power and might, so far as the material law or the material dictates were concerned.

28. Thus the tendencies at times for the entity to become more the dictator, and the abilities - or even the tendencies for the entity to be obeyed without question. Hence this makes the lack of the necessary activities at times to make such associations always as compatible as they should be.

29. As indicated there, while the entity may be in associations with others in material efforts, or in business ventures, the policies of such should be directed by the entity - if there would be the greater harmony and the material successes that may be made.

30. The name then was Theodosia Rarba.

31. Before that the entity was in the Norse land, when there were the activities that brought changes in that land of the Huns, or the German and Austrian land.

32. The peoples of the land to which the entity then belonged journeyed into the land of the Huns, and the entity was the wife of one set in authority.

33. Thus the inability of the entity, ever, or very seldom, to take orders from others; and yet desires oft to give orders. Hence these, as indicated, are not always compatible.

34. There the home was built, and in same eventually the greater success of the individual was obtained during that period of activity.

35. The name then was Lydiasonia.

36. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, in those periods when there had been the activities such that emissaries were sent into other lands.

37. The entity, though very young, journeyed into the Egyptian land. And through its associations the entity became closely identified with the material, the temporal and spiritual activities of that land; working or serving in those capacities in the Temple of Sacrifice.

38. Thus some abilities and tendencies towards the nurse, yet the abilities as an executive in the material associations.

39. The name then was She-hat-et-le.

40. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, that to which it may attain, and how:

41. First, know self and self’s own purposes, self’s own ideals, - spiritually, mentally, materially.

42. Then study to show thyself approved unto those ideals.

43. Learn never to ask others to do that ye would not do yourself.

44. Keep the faith in thy ideal, when it is once established; never condemning self nor others, for with what judgement ye judge, it shall be measured to you again - it is the unfailing law.

46. (Q) In what type of endeavor could I be definitely useful to people? (A) In that having to do with very close detail work.

47. (Q) Has my present business association been active in my behalf during the last year or more recently? If not, what shall I do about it? (A) This should be answered in self, and not from here. Ask self:

Hast thou measured up to all of that you should have been?

These are answers one to the other. For, as indicated, with that same judgement, with that same measure ye mete to others, it must come back to you!

48. (Q) Shall I change to another firm; if so, which one would you advise? (A) We would change to that of being active for self, and let self do the policy making and the directing.

49. (Q) Will this work ever bear fruit, or shall I wipe it off the slate and forget all about it? (A) This must be answered within self. The abilities are there; do you wish to make them bear fruit, or do you wish to make a home - or both?

50. (Q) What part shall I play in the present war effort? (A) Anything that would have to do with creating better relationships with the home and those that serve.

51. (Q) In what periods and how have I been previously associated with the following, and how can I best guide and direct them in the crucial problems they are now facing: First, my husband, […]. (A) In the experience before this ye were co-workers. You didn’t agree very well. In the experience before that, in the Promised Land activity, ye were in the same relationship as ye bear one to the other now. As indicated then, the home building became the greater success. It may in the present.

As to counsel and advice, - you each have abilities that may be made coordinant. Work together! Find those things upon which you agree, stress them, rather than those on which ye disagree.

52. (Q) My son, […]. (A) In the Egyptian association ye aided in counsel, as ye may in the present. There will be separations for the time being, but these counsels may help a great deal.

53. (Q) My daughter, […]. (A) In the Norse land experiences, and in the home there. You were not always agreeable. Again we would give, find those things on which you agree and stress those. Minimize the faults and magnify the virtues, one with the other.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

I wish to take this belated opportunity to express my thanks to you for giving me my life reading.

Altho Miss J. Chandler has graciously given of her time and attention to assist me in comprehending the reading, there are still passages that leave me pretty much in the dark, as for instance, the difference between a MATERIAL effort and a business effort.

However, I am especially grateful to you both for revealing a character trait that I abhor in others, (dictatorialness) and that I never knew I possessed. It sort of makes me sit up and take inventory of myself.

What I find most difficult to understand is, that I evidence a desire for business and detail, when I have never, consciously felt the slightest desire for either.

When I said “business associate” in my reading, what I REALLY meant was literary agent. Well, perhaps at some future date it will all add up and become clearer to me.

In the meantime, let me thank you again. I am sure I will benefit by the reading.

Thank you for yours of the 20th - am glad you are pleased in part at least with your life reading. I believe Mrs. [2792] if you will read your reading over every now and then - say once a week you will find much as is there will come to you, as you get the phraseology of the readings. Am sure Mrs. Chandler can help a lot and hope she did.

As to such phrases as you point out, think you explain that yourself in what you say your activities were. Is one thing to have one acting as agent and another to be the thing yourself isn’t there. Or change it about, but think as you study it all over you will get new meanings each time you read it. Evidently you are by nature a real business person

• and find yourself in it whether you wish to or not, and could if it became a part of you make a real success of same.

Have yours of the 12th - hope we may get something very much worthwhile for you in your Life reading there are some of your questions that doubt if you will get answered in your Life reading, but will try and arrange them to get what we can answer - for the approach is only from your Life in the earth and questions about the health of your husband or assn. of you Daughter with others doubt if they will be answered. But will do the best we can with them. We never know what it will answer and what it won’t.
