Born October 19, 1901, Sat., 4:30 P. M., in Pleasant Mills, Indiana. Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:40 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, New York.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces, giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane; giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes - we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2799].

4. In giving the interpretations of the records here, much may be gained if there will be applying of those influences which have been and are a part of the entity’s experience through the material sojourns.

5. To be sure, there are urges from the sojourns during the interims between earthly manifestations, but the seeking, searching entity has through its experiences in the earth lived them so thoroughly as to almost eliminate that phase of experience that one may call the other side of self during material expression.

6. Not that the entity has exceeded the needs, or beyond the needs of a material experience. For that whereunto one has gained is a part of one’s experience. Not that things will happen irrespective of what one does, but the urge for an individual to be drawn into that experience is existent, or into that expression or phase of activity as it attracts or is attracted by its activities in human relationships.

7. Then, in interpreting the records, these we choose from same. Not that many might not be interpreted differently, but these we choose with the desire that this information may indeed be a blessing; enabling the entity to fulfil the purpose for which it chose an entrance at this experience.

8. We would minimize the faults, we would magnify the virtues.

9. Astrologically, we find Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune at variance; the Sun as the saving influence in same. But, as we have indicated, the entity through material experiences has so thoroughly applied self as to be urged, impelled or controlled more from those journeyings in the material expression of a well developed soul-entity.

10. One that finds these as latent abilities, as may be seen from the activities of the entity in the appearances that may be chosen from the entity’s expressions in the earth that are at this particular period affecting or influencing the urges.

11. The entity has abilities for any form of activity it may choose, whether of a political or a religious nature; as a lecturer, as a teacher, as a student or as a professor of any subjects it might choose. Through such the entity may make not only a success from the mental angle but from the material also.

12. Thus it behooves the entity in this particular period of expression to keep a well balanced self. Extremes, or the severity of the use of self, might be well at times; but it is well also to keep quiet.

13. As a newspaper reporter, as a lecturer, as a teacher, - then, the entity may gain in this experience; as a student or teacher of the ancient philosophies of Egypt, India, Mongolia, Persia, Arabia - any of these. For these have their particular influence upon the entity’s way or manner of expression, from those experiences as were had by the entity in those varied sojourns.

14. While not all of the former sojourns in the earth may be given, these are those influencing or giving rise to urges in the present:

15. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity; during those periods when there were those turmoils in what was then Fort Dearborn, in those experiences when the entity with many others fled for safety to the east and the south.

16. The entity’s losing of its life (as did many) in what is now the Ohio, causes a latent dread of water; and combined with the Neptune forces, to which it brought the activities of the entity, makes for that latent fear, though the body-mind desires such.

17. So, the entity’s experience was cut short, though it had through that sojourn - as Bertha Baldwin - gained in its search for that in the tenets and teachings of the time of the spiritual nature, to interpret in self its relationship to the whole, as had been a part of the experience before that.

18. For, the entity before that was in earthly manifestation when the Master walked in the earth. Through those periods of activity the entity was not only acquainted with but in touch with those periods when the Master taught the multitudes; being of those peoples that were in relationships with several of the disciples.

19. The entity then was a daughter of Zebedee’s sister, and thus was related to James and John; acquainted with Peter and Andrew, Mathias or Matthew, and Thomas.

20. Though not always adhered to, those teachings meant much. As with most of those people of that particular period, there was not the complete awareness of what had happened until He was taken from them - when there began to be the appearances or experiences which He had promised would come about.

21. The entity was in those circles in which some of the family were acquainted with those in political as well as religious authority; bringing about experiences in which there was something of the social ideals.

22. But becoming acquainted with Luke, after the Crucifixion, the naturalness of the ability to report a happening or an experience, a lecture, a teacher’s thought, as a fact, makes for those abilities as a speaker, as a teacher, as a reporter, as a writer.

23. And such activities in any of those influences or groups where the entity has become deep within self convinced of their sincerity, or the sincerity of the individual or group or teacher, may bring an outlet for the entity which will enable it to develop the more through this particular sojourn.

24. The name then was Ersa. In the present experience, as indicated, there are - to be sure - teachers and seekers. The entity is a seeker. And those things that bespeak of the eternal truths are the channels through which the entity may find the greater outlet for its material, its mental and its spiritual unfoldment.

25. One may grow in one’s mental unfoldment. One may arrive in a spiritual consciousness that is ever present for each soul. For, the soul is of God to each entity. And one is no more precious than another; the preciousness being then in the individual.

26. Before that (among those that would be indicated) the entity was in the Persian land when there were those changes being wrought in the status of the peoples who in their teachings were at variance to the Medes and Persians; when Cyrus issued the edicts.

27. The entity was not of the kingly place but, as might be said today, was acquainted with those of the same social sect or set; though not of the king’s family nor of his warriors, but of his friends or counselors who were in political influence or power - as would be termed today.

28. Then in the name Cleo Poringedr, the entity gained, - the entity heard, the entity enquired. And the leaders, as Nehemiah, as Ezra, became acquaintances of the entity. And the eventual visit of the entity to Jerusalem aroused the entity to activities through that experience.

29. Things then oriental, things Egyptian, things that deal with the delving into the mysteries of the past - or the manners in which those in the position as students apply themselves in making a record of the happenings in such a manner as in symbols, in signs, in all phases of writings - are plainly written evidence. Yet only those capable of interpreting same learn the full meaning. These are of interest to the entity.

30. Thus the entity is a good questioner as well as a good conversationalist.

31. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land. The entity was the queen, or the empress, or the ruling force in the land to which the Priest was banished. Coming under the influence then of the Priest that was banished from Egypt, the entity though in authority renounced its throne to become acquainted with the Priest’s activities. And through that period the entity was known as the queen or princess of the temple to which the entity itself assigned itself, with the establishing of the Temple of Sacrifice and the Temple Beautiful.

32. The name then was It-Ta-Ba-Lo.

33. From that experience we again find the entity’s interest in, and being a student of, archaeological findings. All of these became a part of the entity’s activities in its preparation for those various groups set in the form and at certain periods or phases of moon and sun, when there were those changes in the astrological effect upon various portions of the body. All of these were a part of the entity’s study and application in that experience.

34. Thus it might be said that the entity unconsciously was the founder of that form of Egyptian astrology, taken from its records many, many years later.

35. In such activities the entity may find an outlet, but rather in that channel as we have indicated should the entity be most active, that has as its basis not the sun nor the moon nor any of the hosts of the universe nor the earth (which were the created focal points), but the Creator of these - who demonstrated His powers in the earth in His walk among men.

36. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, and there the entity was a priestess when there were the first periods of the misapplication of divine forces. While the entity was not directly responsible for the misuse, the negligence of the entity in requiring the full, complete reports as of periods and times, makes the entity at times overcautious as to reports of individuals.

37. Facts, to be sure, are facts, but they may be demonstrated. And they that would learn will learn from the experiences of others as well as the experience of self; knowing that the spirit answers to spirit in the material things as well as in the mental and spiritual.

38. The name then was Esdro-m.

39. As to the abilities of the entity, then:

40. First, study to show thyself approved unto that thou may choose as thine ideal. Know the author of thy faith, and of thy ideal. And have only that which is an answer to each phase of thy consciousness, physical, mental and spiritual.

41. In thy writing, in thy contribution to the teachings; in those activities in which thou hast found, thou, may find the answer to thyself and thy problems.

42. Study to show thyself approved, then; not ashamed; rightly contributing and emphasizing that in the experience of each that will draw all men unto the living Christ. For, as He gave, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.”

43. Aid thou in that lifting up; not as sacrifice, but as a love of service.

44. Ready for questions.

45. (Q) What is my specific job in this incarnation and just when will I be given my instructions? (A) As has been indicated; in choosing those channels through which effective work is being accomplished that presents the life of the Christ in its entirety. Be a teacher, be a writer, be an interpreter to lift up that which is the hope of the world.

46. (Q) Why am I always so exacting in my teaching, almost severe? (A) Study that which has been indicated, and it will be seen that each of these phases of thy consciousness is pointed out in its material expressions. This particular phase, to be sure, is from the Atlantean experience.

47. (Q) What instructions can you give me in connection with my helping [2421] in his career? (A) Be a helpmeet in encouraging; never finding fault, but reasoning with - oft.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

In thanking you for my reading there comes into my consciousness a greater feeling than the mere labial “thank you”. It is a feeling of brotherhood. The feeling that one soul feeds the other.

My reading has given me so much upon which I can work and realize. Having earned through evolution the talent of being somewhat spiritually psychic, much that you have disclosed to me I have felt for some period of time now, but the concrete knowledge of knowing is a tremendous lift and help.

May you stay and officiate in the giving of knowledge to your brothers until you of your own desire prefer to add strength and power, in the temple of Wisdom, to your own glorified Being, in another plane or planet.

I have received a command from St. Michael to have a short high noon service for the sending of the Light to the heads of all groups who are consciously working with the Christ. Also to all governments and countries and in this service it is indeed a spiritual thrill to mention your name and work and send it to the furthermost part of this glorious universe. Each day at noon your beautiful work spoken into the ethers for the help of man, for which you stand, is an act of love and service.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Again it is my privilege to send someone to you for a Life Reading, a Mrs. [2938], New York City. Enclosed is my gift check to cover her reading. Please get in touch with her and inform her when at your convenience you can give the reading.

I am now working nights at the … Aviation Company as a Timekeeper and if you are interested in the Life reading you gave me, you will find that down through the ages I have been a keeper of records or a maker of records and again I am keeping and making records. The eternal cycle of Karmic work must be finished some life or other and in this one I am bringing all lose ends together for greater glory as my Father’s servant and son in the ongoing of His Work.

As for myself I have been in war work at the … Aviation Company working nights. Many weeks 96 to 98 hours. There is little else I can do. All my studies and writings have been had to be laid aside for the time being. I am sorry to have missed your lectures here in the city.

Nancy writes: [She studied under Alice A. Bailey] …Not long after Alice Bailey’s death, the teacher of the Arcane School left that school and founded the School for Esoteric Studies (SES) using the same techniques as applied in the Arcane School.

Ann left the Arcane School and joined the SES in 1951, remaining an active member until her death in 1978. Ann had been both clairvoyant and clairaudient throughout her life. She had personally studied with Emmett Fox, A. K. Mozumdar and the Alice Bailey groups. She had studied most of the metaphysical writings of the time but focused primarily on H. Blavatsky, C. W. Leadbeater, A. Besant, E. Fox, A. K. Mozumdar, Manly P. Hall, Joel Goldsmith, Rudolph Steiner, Roerick-Agni, Yoga writings, J. Krishnamurti and Alice A. Bailey.

In December 1966, Ann retired from Gruman Aerospace, having worked there for almost 16 years as a technical writer.

Because of her knowledge and psychic gifts, she attracted many way-seekers and held large classes two-three times per week. She never charged for her services, believing that helping others to open themselves to the higher energies should never result in an exchange of money. I think that because of her motives, her spiritual gifts never weakened.

In 1967, she had to have a spleenectomy (the spleen weighing 12 pounds). The physician had informed me that she was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma and was effectively treated with chemotherapy (cytoxin) for one year. During the last two years of her life, her memory started to fail and many times I would hear her say that she wanted to pass over. Her wish was granted on September 18, 1978 after a three day illness.

It is indeed a happy moment in my present journey to be able to have a Life reading. I am seeking this reading in order to be better able to work out certain Karmic conditions which are very potent in this incarnation. And when you give this service please do not spare me. I can take it and I must know. There are a few questions which I should like answered if you deem them important after the Angel has taken you to the Hall of Records, and these questions require answers in some incarnation which is not included in this reading.

Question No. 1: When did I go out by drowning? (Have never been able to overcome the sensation of choking when in water.)
