This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of July, 1942, in accordance with request by those present.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Florence Edmonds, Esther Wynne, Hannah Miller, Frances Y. Morrow, Helen Ellington and Anne Trulock.]

Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time.

  1. GC: You will have before you the Glad Helpers, members of which are present in this room, and their study and work in relation to spiritual healing. You will give the affirmations to be sent those on our prayer list. [See 281-62 Reports.]

  2. EC: Yes, we have the work of the Glad Helpers in the study of that phase of man’s experience where aid may be given to others, through the efforts of a group signifying their willingness to be a channel of help.

  3. As has been experienced by this group, at times it grows cold, at others it becomes very zealous.

  4. There should be, as we have indicated, a more consistent effort on the part of each member, not only as to keeping self fit but as there is manifested those periods of consecrating of self for others, help comes to the individual.

  5. In this light, then, there should be the greater effort of each; not only to obtain the willingness of others to be seekers, but be ye doers of the word and not hearers only.

  6. The affirmations for the present, we would give, -

  7. 1st: OUR FATHER, GOD! AS THE MASTER, THE CHRIST, HAS TAUGHT US TO PRAY, MAY WE COME AT THIS TIME IN THAT SPIRIT SEEKING THY FACE. MAY WE EACH AS INDIVIDUALS, AND AS A GROUP OF HELPERS, SO PRESENT THOSE PROMISES OF THE CHRIST AS TO BE CHANNELS OF HELP TO OTHERS.

  8. 2nd: OUR FATHER, OUR GOD! IN THY MERCY, IN THY LOVE, BE THOU NEAR TO EACH OF THIS GROUP OF GLAD HELPERS, AS WE COME BESEECHING THEE TO REMEMBER THOSE OF OUR FRIENDS AND OUR BROTHERS IN THEIR DISTRESS EVERYWHERE! AND ESPECIALLY - (and name each individual ye have on the list for that period, during that whole day or whole month); THAT THEY MAY BE IN THAT LIGHT, THAT CONSCIOUSNESS, THAT WE MAY HELP OTHERS TO GLORIFY THEE.

  9. 3rd: OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN! THOU HAST BEEN GRACIOUS UNTO US, AND FOR THIS WE GIVE ETERNAL THANKS. YET IN THESE PERIODS OF TRIAL, OF ANXIETIES FOR OUR LOVED ONES AND OUR FRIENDS, BE THOU VERY NEAR UNTO EACH OF US; THAT WE MAY INDEED ENJOY THAT PEACE PROMISED IN THE CHRIST JESUS.

  10. 4th: OUR FATHER, OUR GOD! AS JESUS HAS TAUGHT US TO SEEK THY FACE IN HIS NAME, WILT THOU SO ATTUNE THE HEARTS OF EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF THE PRAYER GROUP SEEKING HELP THROUGH THIS CHANNEL, TO SUCH AN AWARENESS THAT THEY MAY INDEED WALK AND TALK WITH HIM DAY BY DAY.

  11. 5th: OUR FATHER, OUR GOD! AS THOU HAST HEARD THE PRAYERS OF THOSE, AS THOU HAST PROMISED THAT IF WE WOULD CALL THOU WOULD HEAR, BE THOU CLOSE TO EACH AND EVERY MEMBER OF THIS GROUP, AS WELL AS THOSE WHO SEEK THAT THIS GROUP PRAY FOR THEM; THAT THERE MAY COME INTO THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL THE CLOSENESS OF THE CHRIST LIFE, THE CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS, AND BRING HIS PEACE HE HAS PROMISED INTO THE LIFE OF EACH.

  12. 6th: OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN! LET THAT KNOWLEDGE WHICH WAS MANIFEST IN THE CHRIST JESUS BE OF SUCH A LIGHT IN THE LIFE OF EACH ONE OF THIS GROUP THAT SEEKS THROUGH SAME FOR STRENGTH AND PEACE, AND THE MENTAL AND SPIRITUAL LIFE, THAT EACH MAY SO LIVE SAME AS TO BRING THOSE MATERIAL THINGS THOU SEEST ARE BEST FOR EACH.

  13. THY WILL, O GOD, BE DONE BY EACH MEMBER OF THIS GROUP, EVEN AS I - (and call thine own name) WOULD SERVE THEE.

  14. We are through with this Reading.
