HLC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2814].
-
Quite an interesting figure, as the entity has been through the experiences in the earth!
-
In giving the interpretations of the records for this entity, - these in the present would rather be in reference to certain characteristics as will be manifested in the unfolding years of this entity’s experience.
-
As for more definite directions, when the entity is from eight to ten, then these might be indicated through these channels, to be the more explicit for the entity itself - that is, for the entity ITSELF to apply.
-
These as we find, then, would be those directions for those who are responsible for the physical and the mental unfoldment for this entity in this experience:
-
One that will be found to be rather inclined to be moody, at times. It will cling to the mother, and the mother direction, as it did in the experience before this.
-
It will be interested, even as a child, in the arrangements of furniture in rooms, - as to what belongs in this place or that.
-
It will be interested in music, and especially in things having to do with dramatic art.
-
As to the physical conditions existent, - we find that these, in this instance, have little to do with what is termed karmic; but rather with that having to do with purely physical or accidental conditions in physical manifestations in its period of gestation.
-
That which has been and is being attempted so far has been well done; and we would give those further activities for the correcting in the physical forces, - just as soon as conditions are such that these may be done without fear of creating an area where too great quantities of scar tissue would make for a permanent defect in the facial and in the palate area.
-
As to the influences astrologically, - these had best be given or indicated in those periods when these may be given for beneficial effects to the body-mind itself.
-
And only one appearance would be indicated in the present, that the parents and those responsible for the periods of unfoldment may know or experience the character they have to deal with.
-
For, as we find in this particular entity, and oft, - ones that enter an experience as a complete cycle; that is, upon the same period under the same astrological experiences as in the sojourn just before (that is, being born upon the same day of month - though time may have been altered); find periods of activity that will be very much the same as those manifested in the previous sojourn, in the unfoldment and in the urges latent and manifested.
-
Psychology, philosophy, reasoning, dramatic art, the dramatic critic, - these will be the character and the temperament that is to be dealt with.
-
For, in the appearance before this, the entity entered as Jean Poquelin, known as Moliere the great French dramatist. [1622-1673]
-
And the characteristics, as of those influences, - as the mother was so close in association then, so close in the association now, - will have the more to do with the early unfoldment in this sojourn; not only because of the natural tendencies that may be said to arise because of some apparent affliction that would attract the mother from one to another of her own offspring, but that association in the previous experience - because of those changes that came into the experience of that entity, owing to the early death of the mother in that sojourn.
-
Hence the nourishing of its mother love, of the counsel, as well as the many arguments that will be put up between the two, will be those things that will have the more to do with the early periods of unfoldment in this experience.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What are his abilities and talents? (A) As indicated, those that will have to do with interests in house furnishings. For, as Moliere he also attained to the associations with Louis 13th in arranging his own chambers, his own various places of dwelling and such; and these as combined with the argumentations, the philosophies. For, he will have many peculiar ones as to why he does this or that, but you may never fear but what he will always give - even in his younger years - the reason why he did this or that! He will never answer “I don’t know.” He will always answer with the cause, this or that, philosophizing.
And thus, in the early preparations, the training should be towards psychology and such subjects that deal with the mind - even in the early period.
Take the time to explain this, that and the other; and he will ask more than the usual questions asked by the young!
-
(Q) What connection with his talented brother, [2584]? (A) This may be better indicated in other appearances; for there was not the association in the one indicated.
-
(Q) Why has he come to his present parents? (A) It would be the natural attraction; for the mother, especially.
-
(Q) Is there a spiritual cause or significance for his lip and palate affliction, or is it purely physical? (A) As we have indicated, this is more a purely physical condition or mishap - and not a karmic condition or a working out of something from the past.
-
(Q) Is he being given proper treatment so far? (A) As indicated.
-
(Q) How can his grandmother, [1663], best help him in this life? (A) Answer the questions! And he will ask aplenty! Be mindful in those directions indicated; those cares and attentions as will be needed, for the directing of one who must have the correct answer. And do not put it off! When he asks, answer! And answer as near correctly as you possibly can! or as the one who answers possibly knows!
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/18/42 EC’s ltr. to [2814]‘s paternal grandmother, Mrs. [1663]: Am most anxious to hear what you think and feel about the reading for [2814]. We were all so amazed here; we sat for some time after just with cold chills running up and down our spines.
Hope you may sometime in the near future run in and see us. Sally, Hugh Lynn’s wife (you remember her, I’m sure - she was Sally Taylor of Stovall, N.C.) said the other day she did so wish you would stop in and see us. They are expecting a baby next month.
Gertrude is in Kentucky at present. We expect her home next week. Do let me hear from you and come in to see us when you can. With love from all, Edgar Cayce.
R2. 9/20/42 Grandmother [1663]‘s ltr.:
What do you think of that, Mr. Cayce! Another wonderful reading! I must see you sometime before too long to talk to you about him. He lifts his brows in a most fetching way - quite unusual! Moliere made a big hit on the stage the way he lifted his brows. I’ll write you or see you soon. I am quite excited - too excited to write but I do want to give you my heartfelt thanks. Love, [1663].
R3. 9/24/42 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [1663]:
Thanks for yours of the 20th. I think you have had [in 2814-1] one of the most amazing readings we have ever had. You all will certainly have within your grasp the opportunity to check the characteristics of the young man in a way we have never seen so fully presented. It will be marvelous, in any event, to watch him develop. I do wish to see and talk with you at the first opportunity. Am wondering what Dr. [your husband] thinks of it now, and what does [2814]‘s mother have to say? It will be interesting to get the reactions of all.
Again thanks for everything and love from all here. Sincerely, EC
R4. 9/28/42 Mrs. [1663]‘s ltr.:
I have been trying to figure a way to go to see you…maybe I’ll make it yet before too long. So many little things to tell you as to just how the reading for [2814] came about. Of course I’D have readings for all those I love and want to help, but I let this request come from […], his [2814]‘s mother… Love, [1663]
R5. 10/5/42 Mrs. [1663]‘s ltr.: … I’ll quote to you exactly all I have heard on the subject of [2814]‘s reading…
First from my son [[2814]‘s and [2584]‘s father]: “We were interested in the results of the reading for [2814]. So, we’ve an actor in the family. A real one. He acts all right
- just hollered his mother out of bed for his six o’clock feeding - now anybody that can do that! ? We appreciate it, [1663].”
Mr. Cayce, [the mother]‘s comment was: “Thanks for the reading, [1663]…it is such a help to know what the little fellow can do best. We certainly have a responsibility to guide our two babies. They [[2584] & [2814]] will be able to contribute so much to the world if we give them the proper help.” Mrs. [1947] said after reading it [2814-1], “I see an interior decorator, perhaps.” I say, if not a writer, a dramatic critic who may know something about what he is writing. At any rate it will be an interesting life to watch develop, with the physical handicap which, perhaps, hit me harder than anything I have had to face. Do you remember that I wrote you on a card sometime back that his eyes reminded me of yours - sorta twinkle with something from deep within. I said to his mother while I was there “That fellow could tell us a lot if he would.”
