This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of September, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2815], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [1664].

[Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. [2815].]

Time of Reading 4:50 to 5:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Virginia.

  1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2815].

  3. Now as we find, while there are many conditions that are very good, there are those things or conditions which disturb the better physical functioning of the body. And if these are corrected before they become constitutional disturbances, and thus the body attempting to adjust itself to the hindrances, we find that there would be caused a better reaction and the preventing of many disturbances later on.

  4. These have to do, we find, with hindrances in the ganglia of the cerebrospinal system, that produce deflection in the glandular forces, - especially as related to some of the digestive tract, as related between liver and kidneys.

  5. Thus there is the involvement of the sensory system. Hence headaches, eye strain, a deflection in the circulation that causes the conditions in the blood force itself.

  6. We find that these exist in the 6th and 7th dorsal, in the coccyx, and through the upper cervical and in the upper dorsal areas.

  7. These are the SOURCES that cause these disturbances.

  8. Then, there should be precautions through these periods of correction, when there are the precautions as to diet. When these corrections are made, the diet adjusted, we will find bettered conditions for this body.

  9. The blood stream shows that there is incoordination between the superficial circulation and the internal. Thus the poisons that should be eliminated through alimentary canal are at times attempted to be eliminated through the respiratory and perspiratory system.

  10. Thus the feeling of heaviness at times, especially of early morning, that exists in part of the lungs; though there is no lung disturbance. This is a sympathetic condition that involves more the trachea proper than the lungs themselves; though the repression at times is through the chest area.

  11. The deflection of the circulation to the head, in combination with the glandular disturbance in the adrenals, causes at times the granulated conditions to the lids, more than to the vision itself. But sympathetically, with the lack of proper circulation, there is caused the hurting and burning, and a headache, and a stickiness at times in the throat area.

  12. In making for corrective forces, then, we would - through the directions of such as Irvin - have at least two series of corrections made osteopathically. The first to be given would be of the relaxing nature, - the coccyx and 9th dorsal area. These should be given without much of a reference at first to the cervical or upper dorsal area; at least three to four such relaxing treatments in the beginning.

  13. Then make the adjustments in the coccyx and the 9th dorsal area.

  14. Then begin with the upper dorsal and cervical, only relaxing the cervical in the first four treatments, not relaxing the lower portions thoroughly during the first treatments.

  15. The first series should include at least twelve to fifteen treatments.

  16. Then rest from these at least two weeks, and then have the THOROUGH relaxation; beginning then with the neck and head, and especially the upper dorsal that supply the nerve forces to the eyes, head and ears; then in the 9th dorsal, so that we have better eliminations.

  17. In the diet:

  18. DO NOT take hog meats of ANY kind, save very crisp breakfast bacon.

  19. DO NOT eat meat of any nature that tends to be rare.

  20. Rather use fish, fowl and lamb as the meats, but these not ever fried.

  21. Do have plenty of vegetables, especially of the leafy variety. Use the red cabbage, preferably; though others may be taken. Not any of these should be cooked with meat in same. Rather cook them in water with salt and then butter on same as they are taken up; beans, lentils, greens, turnips, carrots, spinach, - all of these may be taken, but these should NOT be cooked with meat in same.

  22. As we find, if these are adhered to, we will bring bettered conditions for this body.

  23. Do take milk, but this would be preferably taken at night (before going to bed), and should be warm, - not hot but warm, with a little honey stirred in same.

  24. Beware of too much sweets. Honey may be taken, but this in moderation.

  25. Do these things, if we would bring the better forces for the body and prevent greater disturbances later on.

  26. Ready for questions.

  27. (Q) What was the original cause of lesions in the spine? (A) An injury in the coccyx sometime ago.

  28. (Q) Would it be possible to eliminate the glasses after these treatments have been followed? (A) It should be possible to eliminate the glasses entirely, AFTER the full treatments or corrections have been made. It will require a year to eliminate them entirely; but they will necessitate changing when the second series of treatments is begun. After that, they will be eliminated.

  29. (Q) Any other treatment that might be recommended for the pains in lower abdomen? (A) When we remove these lesions, especially in the coccyx AND the 9th dorsal, we will find this will allow for the better eliminations - as indicated - and we will be rid of the disturbance causing these, through the colon and caecum area.

  30. We are through for the present.
