GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, go over the body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes. (Pretty coverlet.)
-
We have the body here, [2854].
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the best physical functioning of the body.
-
The acute condition that has arisen arises from tendencies which exist, and the overanxiety of the body.
-
As the disturbance involves more the sympathetic system than the central nervous system, this overanxiety brings about the acute condition in the heart’s activity; though the disturbance arises from a general inclination, and from a condition that exists in the eliminating system.
-
A plethoric condition exists in the lower part of the transverse and descending colon, producing pressures upon this area of the nerve forces, affecting the heart’s activity itself.
-
Thus that acute pain around the heart but extending to the central portion of body, or just below the sternum and to the left side.
-
When there has been sufficient relaxation, the sooner there is a series of hydrotherapy treatments the better; with gradually attempting, not too much at once, to eliminate the mucous and the pressures produced in the colon; followed by a gentle, not too deep, massage and correcting of the condition existent in the 6th dorsal.
-
The sooner these treatments may be given the better improvements will be had.
-
These as we find looked after, kept under control, we should bring much bettered conditions.
-
This will not take away tendencies. Hence precautions should be taken by the body in preventing too much flesh, and overexertions that would cause an engorgement of the heart by overactivity.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any special or specific diet? (A) Keep away from fattening foods, sugars or too much meats. Fish and fowl should be the principal meats, when meats are taken.
-
(Q) Who should give the hydrotherapy treatments? (A) Choose whatever one is desired, but as we find Reilly would be the better connection here.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/24/42 [2854]‘s sister-in-law [459]‘s letter to EC:
”…Guess you know by-now that [wife [563]] had a 10 lb., 10 oz. boy Friday night. [2854] took down Thursday night with a bad attack of what the doctor deemed ‘heart’. [563] was so frightened as well as myself, and [2854] was panicky a man had dropped dead in the apartment house where they were living, three nights before, and all [2854] thought of was, he was dying - well, your Reading was quick work.
“I phoned [257] and he said he would get in touch with you. The report was wonderful - my, but you hit it right. All said [2854] would collapse when [563] was [went?] to the hospital - such nervous times… You sure hit the nail on the head. The doctors insisted it was due to a broken blood vessel - tiny one - near the heart, after a cardiograph was taken. I told ‘em they read it wrong. However, we got the osteopath in and now we are doing the rest against the doctor’s orders. I’m taking the responsibility. Listen, a father has never died yet when the mother gave birth… [2854] sent for [257] to tell him he had confidence in the Reading and wanted to carry it out.
“You saved [563]‘s life. The … doctor told her [2854] had a heart attack just before she went into the hospital…but the Reading came before she went into the trying labor ordeal. [2854] was given morphine and he would awaken and ask if [563] was to the hospital - [563] was given ether to help her along and she would awaken and ask if [2854] was O.K. …Thank God the baby is out of the oxygen tent. He had a hard time and turned purple and we thought he was a ‘goner’ - [2854] and [563] want to thank you for your kindness…”
R2. GD’s note: Mr. [2854] was a young man and he was considerably overweight.
R3. 7/14/65 Brother-in-law [257]‘s report to GD: ”…[2854] and [563] are fine… [2854] is vice-president of his firm. Their two boys are going into medicine…”
