This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of November, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2860], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her husband and also David E. Kahn.

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2860].

As we find, there is rather the combination of disturbances, though primarily these arise from one cause.

There are disturbances from the glandular system that cause an upset in the manner of coordination between the varied eliminating systems.
-
This gives rise to impoverishments in some directions because of a deficiency in the vitamins and in others an excess.
-
These are the combination, or complications as we find existent; producing thus - in the blood supply - the irritation that appears in parts of the superficial circulation, as well as those conditions in the muscular forces and tendons by pressures, by lack of eliminations in other directions.

This incoordination lies in those areas and from the glandular forces of thyroid and those that lie above or in coordination with the kidneys, - or adrenals.

These, then, are the sources and the causes of the disturbances through the body; producing this varied effect as to the lack of the vital energies, with tautness and tension in portions of the extremities, the nervous disturbances, the upsetting in the appetites and eliminations through the body.

In making applications or administrations for relief, we find that hydrotherapy would be the manner to bring about the quicker eliminating of the causes; allowing the system to adjust itself and rebuild to a nearer normalcy.

This should include, at such periods, the mild sweats, hot and cold showers, and also rubdowns with the combinations of Peanut Oil, Olive Oil, Pine Oil and Witchhazel. Combine these as they are ordinarily combined, - that is, almost equal in quantity. Some of these do not mix well, but when ready to use shake together well to rub on the body.

The Witchhazel also should be used in the Fume Bath, as a part of that activity to set up the conditions in the respiratory system.

These, as we find, might be best administered by such as the offices of Reilly.

We would have the general hydrotherapy treatment at least once a week, or in the beginning about twice a week, for the first three or four treatments; then afterwards once a week for about three to five more weeks.

During that period it would be well also, or there should be included the colonic irrigation, to cleanse the colon; so that the diffusion in the eliminations will be coordinated through the alimentary canal; also for the reliefs to the perspiratory and respiratory system; and to take away that incoordination between the eliminations as nominal through kidneys and through alimentary canal, as they should coordinate.

As to the activities, - exercise in the open, walking, is preferable to other particular exercises; especially through the periods of these applications.

In the diet, keep a well-balanced diet, but including in same all of those foods that give sufficient - or an excess - of iodine. This would include fish and sea foods of every kind, as well as vegetables and meats - as the fish, fowl and lamb that carry the greater quantity of the vitamins B and their complexes.

With the taking of the treatments, it should not be necessary to take excess vitamins, or to add extra Vitamins other than in the Food values - through the period of treatment.

However, when the treatments are left off, in some three to five weeks, we would begin taking Abbott’s B-Complex tablets.

(Q) Is this condition serious? (A) It may become serious unless there is created the coordination in or between the activities of the eliminating channels and the superficial and deeper circulation.

(Q) What originally brought about this condition? (A) This is a combination of disturbances; but, as indicated, it is from a glandular disturbance.

R1. 2/12/43 Husband [520]‘s letter: “[2860] claims that the reading didn’t convince her that she is much improved so far as certain internal pains and shooting disturbances are concerned, but I am slightly in disagreement with her because she does not have other discomforts that she experienced, and since she followed the reading she has not complained about the numbness in her extremities. I am sure that Reilly’s massages have benefited her, but it surely is not for people of very moderate means. The charge amounted to about $4.50 per treatment, including her round trip fare. (She rather enjoyed the treatments but said they were a luxury.) I still don’t agree with her if they helped her. I might want a follow up reading on her a little later on. I will be open-minded on her condition.”
R2. 5/13/74 Husband [520]‘s letter: ”…The fact is that [2860] was operated on [for] the removal of an infected thyroid gland. This was last year. At the time of her physical reading she followed the recommendation to go to Reilly’s and take the suggested treatments. They helped her. Yes, it took 32 years to confirm the facts in the reading, there was a thyroid problem developing…”
