This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of September, 1943, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [2870], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Va.

1. GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

3. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) Is she in condition to go to school? (A) If there would be administered a regular series of treatments osteopathically, we find that very soon she should be in school.

There needs to be those administrations osteopathically given that will aid the entity in meeting those things that are a part of the experience of every woman; in the eliminations - or the Periods.

As indicated heretofore, there have been those subluxations in the lumbar, sacral, and cervical area that need correction. These corrected, when those periods are beginning their activities, we should find real relief for the body. There is the general tendency for the formation of gas through the alimentary canal. This, too, will be materially aided if drainages are set up by the character of osteopathic stimulation in the lumbar and sacral and lower dorsal areas.

5. (Q) When will menstruation start? (A) It should now in the next six months - within that period.

6. (Q) Will that clear up any of the present symptoms? (A) Depends upon whether the conditions of the body have been set in order or not.

7. (Q) Should the courses of Atomidine be continued? (A) Atomidine should be given periodically. Take one drop each morning in half a glass of water, before any meal is taken, for about five days in succession. Repeat this about every two weeks. Don’t take it closer together, but don’t skip any.

8. (Q) Also nightly rubs? (A) These should be most helpful.

9. (Q) Why is the back of neck and head so sensitive? Can this be fully corrected? (A) From those subluxations in lower portions of spine. When these are corrected, and one portion coordinated with the other, we will find much bettered conditions for this body.

10. (Q) Did the appendix operation just after the last Reading, before starting treatments, have anything to do with present condition? (A) Much to do with present condition. For, the sources or causes of disturbance in the appendix area have not been removed. Hence those subluxations in the lower lumbar and sacral, as well as the dorsal and cervical should be corrected.

11. (Q) Is it possible for her to be normal? (A) Very possible.

12. (Q) Why are her fingernails so red? (A) The manner of the circulation. This is from pressures along the centers where the extremities - arms and limbs - show stresses from those areas.

13. We are through for the present.

R1. 10/15/43 Mother’s letter: ”…I will do my part in following the reading and can only hope and pray that the osteopath [Andre Aillaud] will do what the reading says. I couldn’t call him cooperative. About all I can get out of him is ‘I will make those adjustments if I find it is needed.’ He says ‘it’s too fantastic.’ I would like you to give her another check reading to see if the adjustments were correctly made but a year seems so long to wait…”

R2. 12/10/43 Mother’s letter: ”…At present my daughter is getting over the flu or whatever it is everybody seems to be having right now. Before she came down with this she seemed to me to be much better although she still has the spells ever so often that the osteopath insists are due to some allergy. He want them to have all the allergy tests made on her and I am holding out against it. If she still continues to have them - will get a check reading in January if possible…”

R3. 1/26/44 Mother’s letter: ”…My daughter is getting along just fine right now and I could let her check ride for awhile. …I am sure my daughter’s recovery is a result of her reading and am more thankful every day that Mrs. [585] moved in back of me…”

R4. 5/15/46 Mother’s reply to questionnaire: “Chief complaint, nervous; loss of appetite for the duration of several years. Before the reading arrived she was operated on for appendicitis. A check reading said that the sources of disturbances in appendix area had not been removed. She improved but osteopath would not cooperate, though he gave and still gives her good treatments. Have no way to know if they were the ones indicated in the reading.”

R5. 12/1/48 Mother [2882]‘s letter: “[2870] was quite charmed with the house on the Circle and the people in it. Best wishes to you at Headquarters.”

R6. 3/12/52 Comment by IMG: “I was told by [585] that [2870] was very much over weight, and that the mother and daughter had always been at cross purposes, often due to jealousy over the brother.”

R7. 3/31/52 Mother, [2882]‘s letter:

Dear Gladys

Am sorry I have been so long answering your letter for information regarding [2870]‘s reading. I have just been able to locate it. I followed the instructions as well as I could. She at the time couldn’t see much sense in it and I had to work against a very difficult disposition. But we got her in better condition than she had been for some time. She is working and has not had the flu as everyone else has. She started her menstruation period about the time the reading said it would. Of course if the osteopath would have cooperated things would have been better. But I suppose [585] has told you of his attitude. Hope this will be of some help to you and again am sorry I was so slow. I am always lending the material I have from the beach and it had gotten in with some things Mrs. […] had.

R8. 4/1/52 Mother’s reply to QUESTIONNAIRE-LETTER:

Did the glandular condition in any ways seem to affect the weight, size of growth of your daughter? She is large but think it natural as she has a large frame and is 5’10” or more.

How long after the check reading was given before the appetite became normal? Better Eliminations become normal? Yes.

Did the cold spots and sensitive places along the spinal column finally disappear? She broke her shoulder the next year and that has always been so sensitive she won’t let anyone massage her neck or upper back yet.

Did the irritation and “feeling of being upset” also disappear? [No response]

Did she take the Atomidine just as outlined? Yes

Castoria? Yes

Sal Hepatica? Yes

The massage, as outlined? Yes

Did she begin again in February, as suggested in her first physical reading, and repeat the entire outline? Yes

Did the doctors, at any time, state just what her condition was? No Did the treatments, as outlined, aid in relieving the formation of gas through the alimentary canal? Yes

Did her menstruation start about 6 months after the date of her check Physical Reading? Yes

Did normal coloring come back to the fingernails? Yes

Would you say that she became normal physically, so that her life took on normal proportions physically and socially? Yes

Any other information that you feel has a bearing on this case, will be most acceptable. [No response]

Do you recall that [2870] had mumps, or any other childs diseases which might have resulted in the glandular disturbance? Mumps and whooping cough at same time very severe.
