This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2899] Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - ready for questions.

3. (Q) Is there anything special I can do to fight against that mental depression and lack of interest in life? (A) Interest self in others that are less fortunate than self. Hunt out those needy, and apply self in helping these. This will sooner arouse interest in life and life’s activity than any other. Don’t overtax self at it, for the emotional body might become too much disturbed, but do something about it if you would have it be removed - and as you do to others you are doing to thy Maker. Realize that as ye go about to apply yourself to the activities for others, and you will find that you have a real interest in life.

4. (Q) What causes heavy growth of hair on chin, and what can I do for this - as it looks terrible? (A) This is something of self-pride. To be sure, these under certain glandular conditions can be overcome - as indicated by the necessity of the body’s taking Atomidine at certain periods. The thyroids not working or coordinating properly have produced it. It is best to use daily something to cleanse these - as an electric razor. Don’t use a straight razor or even a safety razor for such conditions here.

5. (Q) Is the Atomidine doing the work it should and should it be continued? (A) Doing the work as it should, and should be continued at varied periods; that is: Take it three days in succession every other week. But don’t take it haphazardly - do it regularly - the same three days every other week.

6. (Q) How should the Atomidine solution be prepared for ear irrigation an nasal spray? (A) This should be made quite weak.

For the nasal spray or the ear spray, we find that the Glyco-Thymoline will be better than Atomidine. Use half Glyco-Thymoline and half distilled water. This should be used warm - not hot, not cold - when used in an ear syringe or in a nasal atomizer.

7. (Q) Are my glands functioning any better, so that my weight will become normal? Is there anything further I can do to help this? (A) They are becoming some better but not good yet.

8. (Q) Are gall bladder, liver and spleen better? Also kidneys? (A) They are better, but - after a week - we would apply other [See 2899-2, Par. R2] Castor Oil Packs.

9. (Q) What can be done for distress at menstrual period, which still disturbs me quite a bit? (A) Use Glyco-Thymoline Packs over the pubic center - with salt heat; not an electric pad, but salt heated in a bag and laid over the Pack, see?

10. (Q) Can’t seem to corporate physically or mentally with my husband - what can I do for this? (A) Each must learn to give and take. If you will analyze your conditions together you can come to an understanding. Don’t fight back or accuse one another. Have your agreements and each stick to them.

R1. 2/45 Letter: “I felt so badly about the passing of Mr. Cayce… I just pray there will be someone somewhere to carry on his wonderful work for him, but how on earth will we ever find out if there is someone now that Mr. Cayce is gone?

“You asked what to do with the 30, 20 for [daughter]‘s physical and the $10 that I had paid on her Life Reading. Well, I just want the Association to keep it, and send me whatever Bulletins and papers or whatever that much money entitles me to. I feel I would get so much more good out of the Bulletins than the money.”

R2. 7/1/52 Miss [1747]‘s verbal report: “She carried out the suggestions given to her for the Physical, also - and went to Dr. Arthur E. Smith for her osteopathic treatments. She still takes some of the treatments outlined for her, from time to time, or whenever she feels that she needs them. I do not know what she did about using an electric razor as her reading suggested. The stomach (layers of fat) condition has improved some. She works on it constantly. She is a very pretty person.

“Before she had her second reading [2899-2], she was not feeling at all well, and looked quite yellow. I suggested that she take the Castor Oil Packs, but I don’t know how many were taken. I thought this of interest in view of 2899-2, Par. 8-A saying ‘we would apply OTHER Castor Oil Packs.’

“The relationships between she and her husband are greatly improved. Since the passing of her dominating mother [she was an only child, adopted when quite young], things have been much easier for her.”
