GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - unusual environment - some preparations.
-
Yes, we have the entity here, [2931].
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions that are preventing the better physical functioning of the body.
-
We find that the disturbances are as if short circuits were produced in the centers from which coordination is established between cerebrospinal and sympathetic nerve centers. These are effects, but that is the nature of the disturbance; so that the effects are seen in the activity of the body, as in use of hands - more than lower limbs at present, though the condition may become more and more spreading (unless corrections are made) until there is what might be called the agitans, or the inability of the body-mind to control impulses of the nerve forces through the body.
-
Thus we have an easily tiring of the body, the inability to coordinate the activities. Easily at times are things forgotten; at others the memory apparently is more acute than ordinarily.
-
This as we find arises from the effects of conditions applied in the body in many, many times or days or months back; which, in the assimilation of that taken in the body, reduces the ability of the glands to reproduce stamina as an active force in the ganglia along the cerebrospinal system, where the coordinating reflexes come between the superficial and deeper circulation.
-
In the main portions of the functioning body organs these are apparently not materially disturbed, though - to be sure - the activities of the kidneys, of the eliminations in alimentary canal, are not so easily controlled by the voluntary impulses.
-
Then, in making application for beneficial conditions for this body, - we would administer those forces that will assist the system to establish better coordination:
-
First we would begin with having three times a week a gentle massage following a gentle cabinet sweat; preferably let the sweat be produced principally by a fume bath, rather than the dry heat.
-
While the massage is being given, apply the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Chloride of Gold to the body, in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to one ounce of Distilled Water.
-
The smaller plate would be attached one time to the lumbar axis, for twenty minutes, while the large nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially, would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct center - or, on this body, four fingers from the umbilical or navel center to the right, and one finger up from where that forefinger would come.
-
Then remove both plates and cleanse, by using emery paper. Then attach again, - putting the small copper plate on the 2nd dorsal center, and the larger nickel plate - with the Solution - at the same area as before; that is, the lacteal duct. This time apply for twenty minutes.
-
This procedure would be followed each time that the massage is given, you see, which would cover a period of forty minutes in all of having the Appliance attached - three times each week; and the massage would be given during that time and some massage afterwards, of course. But take time in giving the massage. These will bring stabilizing of coordination in nerve impulses to the activities of the body.
-
The Gold Solution should be changed each fifteen days. The Appliance should be recharged every thirty days, using:
Copper Sulphate…1 pound, Sulphuric Acid C.P…1 1/4 ounces, Zinc…3 drams.
Do not use the Charcoal in this solution. Stir the solution well and mix for at least twelve hours before it is to be used on the body.
-
Disconnect the connections from the solution when not in use.
-
Do these.
-
And then be mindful in the diet. Take those foods carrying plenty of iodine; fish and sea foods several times each week.
-
Plenty of whole grain cereals.
-
Also take daily some raw vegetables, or their combinations.
-
These, to be sure, are not to be all the foods, but include these in the diet.
-
Refrain from any stimulating or over-alcohol producing influences in the body. No brewed or alcoholic drinks of any kind are to be taken during these treatments.
-
We should find considerable improvement by the second charge of the Appliance solution.
-
Do these for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 3/13/43 [2931]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. [2931] …, New York
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Many thanks for your letter of the ninth.
I have written to Mr. Godfrey asking him to ship the Wet Cell Appliance with chemicals, to Dr. Reilly.
I called on Dr. Reilly to-day at the suggestion of Mr. [2772] and hope to begin treatments with him promptly. He seemed to understand the instructions, although he says he has not used the Wet Cell Appliance for some years.
The enclosed Bulletin proved of great interest. You may be sure I shall do all I can to make known to others “There is a River.”
Assuring you that I shall do my part thoroughly in faithfully following instructions.
Sincerely, [2931]
N.B. Will you be so kind as to send one more copy of “DIRECTIONS FOR USE IN WET CELL APPLIANCE” for use by Dr. Reilly.
R2. 3/14/43 [2931]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Referring to your Reading of March 5th, of my case, is there any further explanation of the statement (1), “Yes…unusual environment…some preparations; also (2), could it be stated more specifically what the disturbing conditions have been, and are, that disturb the functioning of the body?
I feel by your letter of the 9th, that you have given me the privilege of inquiry, for which I am grateful.
Faithfully, [2931]
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Virginia
R3. 3/16/43 EC’s letter to [2931]:
Dear Mr. [2931]
Thank you for yours of the 14th - and hope you will always feel you can and will ask any thing you like regards the work or the reading.
As to the first question - you should be able to answer that - better than I. Apparently you were in unusual environment and some preparation was made for the time of the reading.
2-nd. Think it is stated fully just the cause and the suggestion for help, if the information fits you you know it better than any one - if it does, do give it a fair trail, if not would think twice before did any thing about it.
Thanking you and hoping you will let me hear from you from time to time.
With every good wish
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R4. 4/2/43 [2931]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
You kindly asked me in your letter to let you know as to the treatments at Mr. Reilly’s under the direction of the Reading of March 5th, 1943.
Mr. Reilly states that he has long been acquainted with the use of the Wet Cell Appliance, which you recommended, and the whole treatment has been carried out as in what appears to be the precisely correct manner. Six treatments have now been given me, with no appreciable results except I have lost probably three pounds of weight due, to the sweating in the electric cabinet.
Dr. [2772] suggested that I should perhaps have a “check reading”, but he is not very clear as to how long the recommended treatments should be given before the “check up” is made.
Will you advise me precisely what you would like me to do.
Faithfully, [2931]
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Association for Research and Enlightenment, Virginia Beach, Virginia
R5. 4/6/43 EC’s letter to [2931]:
Dear Mr. [2931]
Have yours of the 2nd - am sure it is too soon to expect results from a condition as has existed so long - don’t you think so? Any way am sure Dr. Reilly will be able to tell you when he feels you should have a check reading, would keep up the treatments for another three weeks or more and then see what the results are.
Thanking you and hoping to be the means of help
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

B1. 2/19/43 [2931]‘s letter to EC:
My dear Mr. Cayce:
“THERE IS A RIVER” has been carefully read by me. I have had happy days in Bowling Green, Ky., and Selma, Ala., as well as many other places mentioned in the book, which gives me a bond of friendship, although we have never met.
By a most strange series of events I have been led to your door at a time of deepest discouragement. For three years past I have been affected with trembling of the left hand and arm and, to a lesser degree, in the right. I have tried endless treatments by medical men, to no avail. With all my heart I sincerely believe you can help me through your divine gift, and earnestly ask you for a physical reading.
Dr. [2772] told me how much you had helped him and his child [2779], and suggested that I ask you any questions that seemed pertinent. I particularly wish to know (1) What is the basic cause of my trembling, and (2) How it can best be treated; (3) Why is it possible for one person by the touch of hands to cause the trembling to cease completely for a period of considerable length or, until I begin thinking… also (4) Why does the trembling cease when I sleep?
I feel grateful for the opportunity of subscribing to such a wonderful Cause, and enclose Application and check.
May the world with men like you go ‘ever and forever onward’.
Faithfully, [2931]
N.B. I would deeply appreciate having a reading as soon as possible, but on any day or at any hour you designate. I will be at my residence.
