GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2971]; this we have had before.
-
There are considerable improvements in some directions. There are at times apparently discouragements. There should be more consistent and definite applications made following the use of the Wet Cell Appliance. These are the things to be accomplished:
-
As indicated, there is cellular force - or lesions - in nerve forces in the central nervous system, or in fissures of the brain. As in all things in a living organism of the human body, it changes - and can reproduce itself, with proper distribution of that assimilated normally. The same is true in regard to the glands and nerves being supplied in vibratory forces from the low Wet Cell Appliance. This stimulates glandular activity and distributes to bursa of the lymph circulation, or sympathetic circulation, the abilities for the replenishing even of brain cells. But the bursa and centers along the spine through which the circulation in nerve and blood supply is carried to the deeper circulation or the cerebrospinal and the deeper heart, lung, liver and kidney circulation, need their activity stimulated for such production.
-
Hence there should be a consistent and a very definite massaging, that these connections be stimulated to a better activity. We will find when such is done that the ability to control the voluntary and involuntary muscles and nerves of the body will become much better. There will be better vision, better speech, better ability to use the imaginative forces in coordinating the walking. For, without such coordination from all centers of the sensory organism, walking would be impractical for anyone.
-
But do these and we will bring better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Has the circulation in the brain improved, and will it improve further? (A) Has improved, but not as it should, if there would be those consistent manipulations after each use of the low electrical forces.
-
(Q) Are arteries improving? (A) These are improving much better than other portions of the body.
-
(Q) Which climate would be most beneficial for this winter, - Tucson, Arizona; Florida; or Palm Springs, California? (A) California.
-
(Q) Will his eyesight improve so that he can read? (A) As indicated, all of the activities of the sensory system will improve, if there is the consistent use and distribution of the energies so carried into the body. This means, of course, patience, persistence, and consistency in making the adjustments and manipulations; not making spinal adjustments so much as those related to the nerve centers, where the patches of the glandular forces as related to the lymph and emunctory circulation connect with the cerebrospinal activities.
-
(Q) We are keeping up the low voltage electrical treatments with half hour massage following. Please explain just how this should be given. (A) As indicated, it should be not so much just massaging, but know what you are massaging for; and where. It requires a good anatomist, to be sure, or one understanding and interpreting. And one may interpret very well here on this body, for it is very definite as to the manner in which the patches are indicated where cerebrospinal and sympathetic connect the more often, or in the greater way, and it may be seen how that they are not coordinating in the present.

We are through with this reading.

R1. 11/30/43 Wife’s letter: “Am enclosing a check from Mr. [2971] and me to help you in your work. Mr. [2971] is slowly improving. He can’t read yet but he is better in every other way. We leave Sunday for Palm Springs, Calif. for four months. Could we have a check reading sometime within the next month or so? Write me at …”
R2. 12/3/43 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. […]:
Mrs. […] …, Calif.
Dear Mrs. […]
Am in receipt of yours of the 30th, enclosing contribution to the life sponsorship. I appreciate this very much. More than I know how to put it into words.
Am glad indeed to know that Mr. [2971] is slowly on the improve. I believe you understand and I hope he does. Coming back from such a disturbance must necessarily be slow, for there are to be replacements made would his body function normally again and we don’t want to hurry such a change.
I note you are leaving for Palm Springs and we are sending this letter there. Yes, let us know and we will work in the check reading for him in your new environment, for I am sure with the changes it will be well that we check up on it and see just what change might be suggested in this new environment. We will work this in just as soon as practical and you get settled and get your questions.
Thanking you and hoping to be the means of a service, I am
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce [EC/vw]
R3. 2/15/44 Wife’s letter:
[Notes at top of letter] Our room number is #… in case you can give Mr. [2971] a reading soon.
Ck. Physical appt. Will be at above address thru April 15th.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
We are having a delightful winter in Palm Springs and Mr. [2971] looks and feels much better.
As yet we haven’t found an osteopath who gives as relaxing treatment as the rub I can give and in that we aren’t following the readings. After the low voltage electrical treatment I give a half hour rub as much like what was prescribed in the last check reading as possible.
I would like another check reading for Mr. [2971] and ask these questions -
What can we do to help Mr. [2971] speak distinctly?
Will his sight come back so he can read with ease? He can read for a few minutes and it makes him quite nervous.
Has his mental outlook improved? Does he really believe he will get well?
His memory on day to day happenings is poor - although his memory of things which happened before he had the stroke is fine. Will his memory improve?
Should we keep up osteopathic treatments?
We are enjoying the weekly digests from the Association.
Can you give Mr. [2971] a psychic reading some time?
Am enclosing check for $10. We will be here two months longer.
Sincerely […]
R4. 4/8/44 Wife’s letter:
PALM SPRINGS CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Mr. [2971] has improved so much out here that we are staying until April 24th. We will be here at the Inn Room 102 on April 22nd 3:30-4:30 and will you please mail the reading to us at …, N.Y.
This is what I would like to know - Can you see if the damaged part of the brain is improving? His memory for names and figures in the present time is hazy. Reading tires him quickly and makes him nervous. He does not read with ease. His speech is much better but still muffled.
We are keeping up the Wet Cell Appliance treatments as prescribed in the reading with massages of the four centers on the spine afterward and two osteopathic treatments a week. Mr. [2971] is taking 26 drops of iodides a day to dissolve the stoppage in the arteries in the brain. He has been much brighter mentally since taking these.
Can you suggest any change in treatment or anything additional? Don’t you find Mr. [2971]‘s mental attitude much improved?
Will the baths and the waters at Saratoga Springs help Mr. [2971].
We both find the digest of the weekly readings very helpful.
Thank you so much.
With kindest regards to you and Mrs. Cayce
Sincerely yours […]
