This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of May, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2993], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book THERE IS A RIVER.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

At his camp on Time of Reading …, about 26 3:35 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern War Time. miles from …, near a little town called …, Maine.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2993].

  3. As we find, there are very definite disturbances that are causing the character of reactions indicated with this body, [2993].

  4. The reflex actions, we find, are quite at variance to what some would determine; and yet, as we find, with the proper examination these are the conditions that exist:

  5. In the 6th dorsal we find a subluxation that, with the character of lesion that has formed there, combined with a plethoric condition existing in the colon, produces a neuritic pain. While the very nature, or twist, causes acute conditions through chest and heart activity, we do not find an organic heart trouble. However, with the continued pressure, and the manner in which there is the flow of the circulation between lungs, heart and liver, the thrombose area may be flooded so as to cause that heaviness which exists in the area just below the sternum - or the breastbone area - to cause a weakness there, unless corrected.

  6. These as we find are the conditions.

  7. Then, to correct same:

  8. We would begin, first, with a very GENTLE osteopathic relaxation; followed by an emptying of the colon by the use of high colonics.

  9. Then gradually, - about twice or three times a week, - correct - gradually - those conditions existent in the dorsal areas indicated.

  10. And with another ten or fifteen days have another colonic.

  11. Then, being careful as to diet, there should be a much better condition with this body of [2993].

  12. If there is the mental attitude for creative and for the correct purposes, this should enable the body to carry on - and to be a contribution of helpfulness to others.

  13. Do that.

  14. Ready for questions.

  15. (Q) Any specific diet to follow, or what should I avoid? (A) Avoid any of those properties that are too rough, as to irritate the colon and portions of the jejunum - that is, not too much of fats. And beware of combinations of starches. But have sufficient of the vital forces, as the whole grain cereals, plenty of fruits and vegetables that tend to be laxatives.

  16. (Q) Do you feel that I can return to active business, and carry out a number of plans I have in mind, concerning business activities? (A) As indicated, do these things and we should find much bettered conditions.

But do not do one without the other. There should be first a gentle relaxing, you see; then the colonic (which should be given scientifically), and then a little more of the relaxing as the body rests following this first treatment, you see. Then, of course, three times a week, or every other day, have the osteopathic adjustments - until time for the second colonic. And we should find this heart condition quite different, and almost from the first gradual relief of the quick pains through portions of the body, and that heaviness in the lung area as indicated.

  1. (Q) Is it possible to regain my health sufficiently to again apply for a commission in the Service, and therefore fulfil my desire to do my part in the present emergency? (A) Read that just indicated. If this application is not merely for what others will think, or what self desires to contribute, and knowing the reason why, it will be able to be done.

  2. We are through for the present.
