GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3012].
-
As we find, there are disturbances that may be aided and corrected in the present with a consistent application of those influences which may create a balance in the glandular forces, that are in the present upsetting the coordination in the eliminating system.
-
For these, the glandular forces, are in the present disturbed; especially as related to the digestive system and the eliminations in the system.
-
Thus there are those accumulations around the joints, or an excess of calcium deposits in the body.
-
These give distresses to the extremities, especially the hands, the feet, the knees.
-
We would suggest these applications:
-
Take internally one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water, each morning before breakfast, for ten days.
-
During that ten-day period do not take ANY carbonated waters or drinks, nor any malt, nor vinous nor spirit liquors of any kind.
-
After the ten days, begin with hydrotherapy treatments. Each should include a Fume Bath (which is preferable to the Dry Heat Cabinet), using Witchhazel.
-
Following the Fume Bath have the hot and cold needle showers; then a thorough rubdown with a combination of two parts Peanut Oil to one part of Pine Needle Oil.
-
Do this each week for at least six weeks. Then leave off and begin with the Atomidine (which would not be taken during the period of the hydrotherapy, see); this time taking one drop each day for only a five day period, leaving off five days, then taking five days again, and so on.
-
During the period of the hydrotherapy there should be at least one good colonic irrigation, but this should come toward the latter part of the treatments, see?
-
In the diet, - meats should be banned. Not any great quantity of high seasoning in any foods, especially salt.
-
Vegetables such as beets and beet tops, carrots, peas, should be taken fairly often.
-
Refrain from greases or fried foods.
-
Do these, and we should find bettered conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How may the peculiar exhaustion be overcome? Also light sleeping? (A) The exhaustion is from the pressure upon the nervous system. This is affecting the pulsation, of course, but it is not a heart affection - rather a sympathetic condition. Thus the Fume Bath is preferable to the dry heat, as to produce the perspiration and tone the body for better eliminations.
The resting of the body by eliminating of the poisons will make for better sleep.
- (Q) How can I clear up the phlebitis? (A) This is a part of the circulation. With the pressures removed as the massage is given, and with the hydrotherapy and the character of treatments indicated, there will be corrections made in the sacral and lumbar areas of the body.
Do as we have given and we will have bettered conditions for this body.
- (Q) Since menstruation ceased last September, why is there a tendency to superfluous hair in such an unnatural place as the shoulder blades? (A) The lack of proper circulation and the disturbances in the glandular forces, as given.
Do as outlined, and we should find bettered conditions for this body.
- We are through for the present.

(Atomidine is manufactured by The Atomidine Co., 9 South 8th Ave., Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and sells for $1 a bottle.
Dr. H. J. Reilly, Physiotherapist, R.C.A. Bldg., 1250 Sixth Ave., N.Y.C., is familiar with the type of hydrotherapy suggested for you. If not convenient for you to go to N.Y. for these treatments, perhaps he - or Dr. Newman - can suggest someone in your vicinity.)

R1. 5/28/43 (Friday) [3012]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you very much for your helpfulness, and promptness in sending me the diagnosis. I shall try to carry it out carefully, but am waiting a couple of weeks, until after our son has gone into the service. His training will take him away from New York about the middle of June.
There is a hydrotherapy institute here in … giving electric ray cabinet baths, not fume baths, and I shall hope Dr. Reilly may be able to locate some one nearer than New York, giving the fume kind.
Dr. Newman is intensely interested in your work, he considers your diagnosis amazing in your understanding of technical terms, and osteopathic methods. He enjoyed There is a River very much. It may interest you to know that I feel definite currents passing thru me at the time I was writing, and noticed the clock it was 10:45 to 11 - your gift is certainly to be highly valued.
Than you very much - [3012]
Your letter just came as I was about to mail these, and I appreciate the personal interest you show in making an effort to write to your correspondents. I shall be very conscientious in trying to carry out all the suggestions, but may have to wait a couple of weeks to begin, as I have explained.
I find all your materials very helpful, and use A Search for God as a daily study, along with the Divine Science Monthly magazine and Unity Weekly - the only real need we can have is a need for a better understanding of God, and that will put everything right. You are a very helpful part of the process, and I am grateful for this contact.

B1. 3/23/43 Letter: “Your work seems to be just what Dr. Alexander Cannon hoped might be brought to humanity, as described in his book SLEEPING THROUGH SPACE. Since you are helpful to those of us who cannot come to you, I hope so much that you may redirect my life and put me on a basis of self-improvement.
“I write at the suggestion of our personal physician, Dr. Arthur H. Newman [D.O.], …, N.Y. He has known of your gift and is much interested…
“This information might be helpful:
“A peculiar exhaustion and light sleeping are my chief problems. It seems as tho someone else will have to breathe for me, and I have never honestly been equal to anything that I have had to do. Yet I am fortunately free from all the allergies, sinus trouble, colds, etc., from which my healthy and vigorous friends suffer so constantly. Childhood diseases were mumps, chicken pox and scarlet fever. When our son was born phlebitis followed a difficult delivery in 1920, and bursitis suddenly appeared in 1939. In the light of metaphysics they must have been expressions of the subconscious mind, as I had never heard of such illnesses. My own interpretation is that they could be a rebellion against too much ‘management,’ as I have always lived with dominant people, and have not been encouraged by parents or my husband to freely express myself. Frankly, I do not go foreword into new experiences very easily, as I am ‘fond of the familiar’ and do not crave variety as restless natures seem to.”
B2. 4/14/43 Letter: “I should like to clear up a tendency to arthritis, in the left hip, where phlebitis occurred after the birth of our son, and to bursitis. Calcium seems to want to go where it is not supposed to be. My ‘hard thots’ must be misplaced if I am causing the condition metaphysically. I should like to clear up the phlebitis, there is a tendency to swell when I am on my feet too much, and several veins are swollen and blue all the time. Doctors refuse to shrink such veins, as they are different from varicose. The whole left leg discolors at the slightest bruise. Since menstruation ceased last September there is a tendency to superfluous hair in such an unnatural place as the shoulder blades (I should much rather be sprouting wings!). There seems to be a glandular relationship as yet unsolved by physicians.
