[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:35 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, N.C.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [3013].
-
As we find, conditions are rather serious.
-
These disturbances have been approached from the wrong sources, we find; yet in the present there may be some relief - though it will require a long period.
-
The circulation disturbed between lungs, heart, liver and kidneys, causes the poisons to be distributed through the system in such ways that it is hard for their eliminations through their normal channels.
-
While there may not be a great deal of change in the present from the administrations, and from those cares and attentions the body has been receiving since this recent attack has so upset the circulation as to cause these disturbances through the limbs, - we find that there would be better response in the administrations given to keep the circulation nearer to the normal IF there would be a stimulating treatment osteopathically administered, that which would be only to allay, or to set a better circulation through those channels that would cause better eliminations.
-
For, in the 6th dorsal, the 3rd and 4th dorsal, and in the 3rd cervical, we find DEFINITE deflections of the circulation by the impulses from - or those coordinating between - central nervous system and the superficial circulation. And this is what has brought about those deflections in heart, liver, lungs, and now the greater distress or pressures on kidneys.
-
So, we would keep the administrations being made, and have - about every other day, or at least twice a week, - the GENTLE osteopathic adjustments in those particular areas indicated; coordinating the rest of what little change is given.
-
Gradually this should build back to better conditions.
-
Later - much later - there may be the possibility of making definite corrections in the 6th dorsal, in the 3rd cervical, and the other areas where these deflections occur; and we should gradually be able to leave off much of that stimulation which keeps the superficial and deeper circulation incoordinant.
-
To be sure, it is necessary to keep the alimentary canal eliminations good.
-
These are the conditions as we find that may be helpful, if they are administered GENTLY; not stimulating, but relaxing to the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any suggestions regarding diet? (A) Keep away from sweets, and from too heavy foods - as ANY sort of meats. Liquids and semi-liquids rather than too much heavy food.
-
We are through with this Reading.

R1. 6/2/43 Wife [3014]‘s letter:
…, N.H.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Wish to acknowledge receipt of the Readings.
We are here for the summer to get away from the hot weather as we both find hot weather very trying and Mr. [3013] especially, in his present condition.
I have gone, on previous occasions to an Osteopath [Ames, Allen B., D.O.] in Fitchburg, Mass. so I took Mr. [3013] down to him Monday, May 31st. He verified the diagnosis, and we plan to follow thru the suggestions given in the Reading.
Mr. [3013] has been having Osteopathic treatments by Dr. Chas. Higgins in … [N.C.] for the past six weeks, and has shown marked improvement since he began them.
We are both very grateful to you and I know we shall both benefit from the help you have given us.
R2. 2/22/44 Wife [3014]‘s letter:
…, N.C.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I have been so grateful for the help you gave my husband, [3013], last spring. It was too late for him to get any physical help at the time but he heard of your great work, did get a new courage and I really think the hope that he might get better, kept him with me a little longer.
He passed away on July 8 - ‘43 after a long courageous fight. His Drs. could not understand and how he managed to stay, but he had such a strong desire to live and be of service in this time, that he just wouldn’t give up.
R3. She requested 3014-2 for herself.

B2. 4/25/43 Wire: “Earnestly request transfer my application to emergency class. Basic heart condition now showing acute effect other organs… Would not request disturbance your routine but believe you designated and capable of finding corrective measure.”
B3. 4/27/43 Letter from wife: “He has been very ill for the past week, gravely so. The basic heart condition has effected his kidneys and liver for some months past but now seem to be so much worse.
“His faith in your ability to help him is very great and I do hope it may not come too late”
B4. 5/17/43 Letter: “Would it be possible for you at the same time to make a Physical Rdg. for my wife [3014]? …You see, she takes care of me and any severe break in her health would be a real catastrophe.”
B5. 5/23/43 GC’s suggestion to EC: You will have before you the two individuals as I name them to you. As I name them, you will go over the body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of the body; answering the questions that may be asked:
First: [3013]…
