This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of May, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - [3022], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [257].

Born March 27, 1889, in New York City. Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - ” - ‘40 - changes and expectancies - ‘27 - activities - ‘96 - ” etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [3022].

4. In giving an interpretation of the records, from these we would choose what would apparently enable the entity to fulfil those purposes for which it entered this present sojourn; and to aid the entity in applying self in such measures and in such directions as to insure the opportunity to fulfil those purposes.

5. Many are the abilities of the entity in certain given fields of service or activity.

6. As we find, when the astrological aspects and the material sojourns are considered as a composite, these urges latent and manifested appear in the experience of this entity:

7. One that more often than otherwise sees the ridiculous side of every proposition. It will never do for the entity to lose its appreciation of the wit and humor that may be experienced in every distortion, every activity, every experience.

8. For, learning that there are latent and manifested urges, if the entity does something about them, they become more effective in the experience.

9. One that is capable in many ways, especially in organization of groups or of activities as related to manufacturing or processing of varied activities, or in those fields in which the services or activities of others might be used to an advantage in the educational as well as moral propositions and compositions that may be presented before groups or organizations.

10. Thus we find the abilities in dealing with others, and in dealing with things pertaining to activities in self. All of these are a part of the general plan, or the general activities of the entity.

11. Then, lose not that sense, nor that proportion of wit and humor. For, they that lose such in their activity, - endowed as this entity is with such abilities, - lose a great deal of that manifestation which may be their very own.

12. From astrological aspects, then, we find:

13. The entity is one of high mental abilities. At times these may not be used altogether wisely, yet in the main those things that prompt the entity in choosing the directions it should take, in connection with corporations, or as the process agent of individuals or groups, are the measures and the activities that may bring to the front the better abilities.

14. Thus the entity should engage in those activities associated with those especially gifted in supplying the needs and desires and hopes in the relationships of individuals to special propositions, or special emergencies that may arise in the experience.

15. Astrologically we find in Venus, Uranus and Mars also indicating the closer relationships that become a part of the experience.

16. The entity may or may not be able to apply itself in music making, but finds a special interest in music as well as in some phases of other arts. But the forte of the entity lies in the assisting, the representing, or being the prime factor or movement in new organizations, where policies are to be made, where the activities have to do with the relationships, possibilities and probabilities pertaining to things and conditions that supply the greater quantity of conveniences to groups.

17. In Venus we find the appreciation of music; also in Uranus the extremes that have come and may come to the entity, as well as its interest in the unusual or unseen influences - though most of these, to be a greater extent, have been left for some future period of analysis.

18. As to the appearances in the earth, - while all of these may not be indicated, these we choose with the desire to be of helpful forces in minimizing the faults and in magnifying the virtues. For, this is ever the attitude to which each entity should apply itself, if it would undertake the filling of the ideals.

19. Before this, then, the entity was in the land of the present nativity, - during those periods just previous to and during that known as the American Revolution.

20. Then the entity was a representative of the English land, in the abilities to trade or to make contact or contract with those individual groups that had to do with the supplying of the unusual activities; as those that went to make up the very essence of the products of the soil, as well as those dealing with such.

21. Thus we find the entity was close to the executive activity of the English armies in the northern portions of the land. Before the end, the sympathies were with the groups seeking freedom.

22. Thus we find the entity in the present especially gifted in relating and in remembering incidents that were a part of the activities of the land in that particular period. And it is from that experience that the entity finds in the present the abilities dealing not so much with details or minutia (for which at times may find fault with the entity; and it is in such that most of the uncertainty has come in regard to results), but with the beginning of organization and in the execution of same in the experience. These abilities have been and are the outlets through which the entity may excel or exceed the more.

23. The entity in that sojourn was known as Henry Ententie. The entity gained. For, while the weaknesses of those that would hold the land were recognized by the entity, the entity obeyed the dictates of its own conscience at that time. While not upon the fence, the entity rather attempted to see the results of activities as a whole, than dealing directly with individual examples.

24. From that experience the entity should find itself an outlet dealing with things of that same character, of that same nature, that supply the conveniences for the better activities of individuals in this particular sojourn. And these have to do with things not exactly associated with music, yet here the entity would make - or could build - a great booking agency that would represent the activities of groups that had a message, or might make for associations through those activities of groups and the like; as well as the abilities having to do with products of the soil, or those that depend upon the activities of the soil for the preparation of same.

25. Before that the entity was in the Roman land, when there were the group expansions. While those in authority, or the rulers, changed hands rather frequently, there was the ability of the entity to work with groups that would prepare products, that would prepare things that would supply the needs of groups. These become a part of the entity’s present experience.

26. And through some such channel or outlet the greater services may be rendered, and the greater abilities for expression be had in regard to pleasant activity.

27. The entity then was in the name Phalasn, and gained. For, the entity declared self; forgetting not how to handle individual groups.

28. So in the present, setting the ideal, and working towards being the suggestive power behind organized efforts, the entity may succeed where it never would for itself. But in associations with others, as in the advisory counsel to others, the entity may make the greater contributions to such activities.

29. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those preparations for the activities in vocational guidance.

30. The entity was put in charge of those things that supplied portions of the foods to various groups, as well as the preparations of same in dealing with those of other lands.

31. Hence the present activities of the entity may deal with that which prepares same, in whatever service or office is chosen, for the supplying to other lands. This would be especially well to consider in the next two or three years.

32. The name then was Ar-Ar-Feldiam.

33. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, during that period not of the second destruction but of the early upheavals and activities of varied groups that were a part of the evolution of bodies and minds, and of the others that were a part of the idea of evolution for conveniences, for the settling of judgements and for drudges in the activities.

34. The entity was among those that had studied the propositions as related to group activities as a whole, rather than the detail manner in which they would be carried out.

35. These, as we find, are the outlet of expression for the entity in the present.

36. As to that the entity may attain, and how:

37. First, analyze self. Let it not be all for material gain. While nothing suits the entity better than entertainment, and the entertainment of others, these are outlets - to be sure - but they are to be used in their proper relationship and not as the WHOLE of the activity itself.

38. Thus may the entity find, as it keeps its sense of humor, and does not become too entangled with those conditions as of the processes of others in the relationships of dissemination of either service or the purely mechanical preparations of the various groups; but knowing self, find that outlet for its activity that will bring the creative or spiritual and mental stresses put where they belong.

39. As an organizer for a corporation, or for individual groups, - as the musicians, or as certain phases of the stage, or as of radio groups or forums or the like, - we will find the abilities bringing first peace, and sufficient of the activities of material things to more than meet the needs thereof.

40. Know, then, thy ideal, - spiritual, mental, material; and study to show self approved unto the God within, a workman not ashamed, but rightly dividing the words of truth, and keeping self unspotted from condemnation.

41. Condemn not, if ye would not be condemned. For, with what measure ye mete it is measured to thee again.

42. Ready for questions.

43. (Q) Having severed my connection with a certain [banking] company of N.Y. after thirty years of association, due to the management control, - please advise if it is indicated that this management control is to change within the near future so that I may be enabled to return to the Company? (A) It will be changed within the next six months. Ye can return if ye desire to reorganize the activities of the groups then, or before that time.

44. (Q) Should I await that change, or is there something I should do now? (A) This may be awaited with impunity, or the entity may become active in other fields of service. But do not tie self in same so that it will not be ready when these changes are brought about.

45. (Q) What other opportunities are open to me? (A) As indicated, in any of those that have to do with organization of groups, of activity. As would be pertaining to things that deal with bookings, that deal with products of the soil, or that may deal with the preparation of same, - as in the milling companies, as in the organization of groups of entertaining companies, or the like. Here the entity would find a great opportunity with one Harry Goetz!

46. (Q) How can [257] be of help to me? (A) Rather would it be more fitting to ask how you may be of help to [257], to keep him in his own right place! But the connections by introductions would be the better manner.

47. (Q) Should I try to become affiliated with another big [food] company of the same endeavor, or get into another line entirely? (A) As indicated, study those situations. But be ready to be associated with the same company if that is the real desire of self. But there is a greater opportunity, as we find, with a BOOKING company!

48. (Q) Through whom should I seek such an association, and where? (A) As indicted, the one suggested is the better, if that is desired by the entity.

49. (Q) Advise me as to my coming meeting with one of the general partners of a company of the same general type as the one with which I have been associated. Would this be a good opening for me, or is there a better one? (A) One that would have to do more with organizing of groups than this would be better, if there is the seeking of a change for the immediate future.

Keep in that way - and don’t lose the sense of humor!

He told me of his experience with the Guards on the beach and also his experience with you. He said it was too bad that he had been deprived of a free mind to talk to you but the other thing upset him so much that his mind was not functioning properly. He was very appreciative of the reading and of knowing you…”

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

Your very interesting excerpts letter received at a time when I have been doing considerable thinking of how and when to contact you - I knew you were very busy therefore reluctant to contact you.

I was most happy and thankful for the interview granted me in New York. I was disappointed with my inability to be in your audience the night of your New York lecture, however my experiences with some of those also unable to gain admission were very enlightening.

The radio subject I talked to you about when in New York has not materialized beyond a general discussion. No other matter has come up that I can advise you on. Have you any suggestion for me, shall I visit you for an additional reading or can you arrange for a reading in my absence.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Your excerpt letter was directed to me in error at Scarsdale, won’t you remove my Scarsdale address from the records of the association so that all communications extended for me will be sent to 38 East 37 Street, New York City.

Dear Mr. [3022]:

Thank you for yours of the 21st. I hope you found the Weekly Letter of interest. It seemed just a bit out of the way to come all the way to New York and have so many people come to hear me, and get to talk to so few of them, but nothing like that ever happened before, in my young life. I don’t know know whether we have any advice just now or not. I believe things are going to work out for you yet. I know you can easily grow tired of waiting. It would be mighty hard for us to arrange to get in an appointment right now. I am having to cut off everybody for a little while. I am just about to play out and maybe a few weeks off now will prevent a real breakdown.

I hope things will come along all right, and you will soon be at just what you want to do. With every good wish, I am

R5. 3/27/44 Mr. [3022]‘s ltr. to M. Wirsing:

Dear Miss Wirsing:-

Your letter of March 17th with enclosures duly received.

Enclosed please find a cheque for $20 and an application for a reading which I understand you have recorded for May 26th 1944.

I wish a life reading which I understand was the type I had before. There are certain features of my original reading which I expect to be firmly presented to me within the next 10 days and of course would like to have the assistance of the new reading. I really appreciate the demands on Mr. Cayce’s time however should you have a cancellation may I have it.

I am assuming my presence is not required in Virginia Beach by reason of my previous personal visit with Mr. Cayce. However I would be glad to comply with Mr. Cayce’s suggestions.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Sometime ago your secretary gave me a date for a reading as May 26th - While I fully realize your appointments are made for many weeks ahead thought you might not object to me reminding your secretary to the end of giving me the first cancellation that arises.

My desire for an earlier appointment is to assist me in deciding a matter that has already started and which I feel will or should come to a head before May 26th.

I have studied my original reading many times and have followed it closely in my every day activity. To say that it has been an inspiration and guide is to put it mildly as it has actually prevented me from entering arrangements that looked beautiful at the time but turned out poorly shortly thereafter.

Everyone thinks their problems are important - so do I - however my sole desire is to make sure that I am following out the fine suggestions you made to me. I have the fullest confidence in your reading and I want it checked to make sure I’m acting accordingly.

I am very happy you are around again and trust you will continue to feel your normal self.

Any courtesy you can extend me to secure an early reading would be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-

Not intending to be present during my reading to be given by you on May 26th - I thought I might send a few questions that your secretary might include with others that will be given you.

1. Preliminary negotiations have already been advanced me without my solicitation for my return in a more responsible position to my former business. Should I consider such advances and should I accept a proposition if it becomes firm.

2. Any suggestions for me to further #1.

3. Should I continue doing consulting work as at present or seek a permanent connection - which - your suggestions.

4. Should I avoid long time commitments - It has proved correct to date.

5. Will my visit to St. Louis to see a former business associate influential in my former affiliation be successful in that it will create goodwill and a friendly feeling.

R9. 5/26/44 Phoned & said he would be on train during hour set, so Mr. C. told him to send his ques. & we’d make another appt.

R10. 9/13/44 [3022]‘s letter:

I obtain real inspiration from your weekly letters and am most interested in your work. I have so advised Mr. [257] the few times I’ve seen him during the past year.

If you so suggest I shall be glad to be in Virginia Beach on October 30, 1944.
