This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of June, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - [3027], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. Contact: THERE IS A RIVER.

Born September 15, 1908, in Mons En Bardeuil-Le Lille (Nord) France. Time of Reading 10:40 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, New York.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back to birth date - “Another Atlantean!”)

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3027].

4. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them here, these we choose from same with the desire and purpose that this information may be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to apply tenets that we would give as ideals in the present experience; that the entity may better fulfil those purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.

5. No entity enters a material sojourn by chance, but from those realms of consciousness in which it has dwelt during the interims between earthly sojourns, the entity chooses that environ through which it may make manifest those corrections - or those choices it has made and does make in its real or in its inner self.

6. Thus we find this entity entering as an Atlantean, or from an Atlantean urge (in one of its appearances), as many Atlanteans are in the realm of activity with which the entity may come in contact in various ways or manners.

7. Thus, as in most entities, this experience will be either one in which the entity will succeed or make a complete failure. Whether this is mental, material or spiritual depends upon the choices made by the entity. Not that one may not excel in all, yet - as given of old - many are called but few respond. There is ever before an individual entity life and death, good and evil. The entity is given the ability to choose.

8. That the entity has great abilities is indicated throughout the sojourns in the earth. That these may be changed a great deal is the privilege, is the opportunity for every soul-entity.

9. That this entity WILL succeed is and will be evidenced by the applications the entity has made in past experiences.

10. As for urges latent and manifested, these are not in keeping with what is commonly called astrology, or astrological urges; but these are rather from the greater relationship the entity bears with this present universal consciousness - indicated in the signs, the seasons, in the earth’s solar system.

11. For, it is through this system that the entity is still working its way towards infinity, towards its consciousness of the infinite forces as may manifest in the experience of each soul, - in spirit, in mind, in body.

12. Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Uranus are the astrological aspects.

13. High mental abilities, as in Mercury - a reasoning mind, as Mercury.

14. Jupiter - as a universal consciousness. Hence seeing, being, travel - all of these, as well as a feeling for its kinship, its relationship with a universe.

15. Venus - beauty, song, music - and yet detailed activities are a part of the entity’s consciousness, as will be seen also by material sojourns.

16. Uranus - those extremes, not only material but the mental activity. And to this entity there may cove unusual experiences, in the mental, in the material, in the spiritual. Things, conditions, where others may not ever even experience. These will be seen not only from the application the entity has made in its earthly sojourns but the Uranian interest in the wisdom of the ancients, as sometimes called; the ability of the entity to become aware, in the physical, of a universal consciousness. Few may attain this.

17. As to the appearances in the earth, - not all of these will be given in the present. For the entity should seek some of these, that are given, to know the better relationships with individuals, especially. For, the entity has had an unusual experience in the earth.

18. Not that the entity has fallen far from the abilities, - for, as given, in whatever field of service or activity the entity chooses in the present, it MAY succeed - whether spiritual, mental or material. It may succeed in all, or it may - as most Uranians - be a complete failure; but because of self-aggrandizement or self-indulgence, should such be the experience.

19. Before this the entity was in the land of the present sojourn, during those early days of activities, especially when there were the journeyings into the land with the soldiery that aided in the freedom finding of this American land.

20. The entity then was in the opposite sex, to be sure, and among those very close to LaFayette - the entity being a general, not in name but in abilities, and those associations with many in authority in political places brought favors not only to LaFayette’s efforts but also to General Washington’s.

21. These activities enable the entity in the present to carry weight when many another will fail, whatever the attempts may be in a political sense, whether socially or in politics alone. But remember, think not more highly of self than ye ought to think. And he or she that is the greatest among the fellows, among the associates, is the one who may serve the better.

22. In that attitude, in that approach, should the entity apply its abilities in these directions in the present experience. For, as may be indicated, while there is the desire for home and home life, we find that those experiences as Jean Juahn Destuyvelent made for those activities that have prevented the entity in the present from making associations of a conjugal nature.

23. Thus, even though the entity were wed, there will be very little chance of there being offspring - UNLESS changes are made in purposes and ideals. Do not be disappointed in this. Not that this is impossible, but it would require almost a special dispensation from on high, through seeking for an activity that would bring ONLY glory to the Creative Forces.

24. Ye stand much in the same position, spiritually and mentally, as did Hannah. Remember her, and what came forth.

25. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land, during those periods when the Master walked in the earth.

26. The entity was among the women of Bethsaida that heard Him gladly. Yet persecutions, in those days when there were the activities following the Crucifixion, brought the entity’s choosing rather to flee from the environs. But attempting to hold to its activity, then in the name Jeseuha.

27. The entity then became the wife of one that became a martyr, when there was the establishing of the first of the deacons in the church at Jerusalem. With that persecution the entity fled. Coming in contact, in the latter part of the life, with the problems of Paul, Peter and Lucius, and Luke, in Laodicea, the entity there gained much.

28. The children of the entity in that experience came to be the leaders in that church, when Lucius left the activities there.

29. Hence we find an interest not only in the mysteries of the Master’s teachings, but the interest in the intrigues of political and social natures; the abilities to ferret out or detect the little, undermining things others would do, are a part of the entity’s consciousness or awareness.

30. If those associated with the entity want to prevent the entity from knowing all about them, they had better keep their mouth shut! For the entity can piece, bit by bit, a little here, a little there, to know almost the thoughts of others.

31. The interest in, and the abilities in spiritual things may be aroused from that experience. The ability as a writer may be indicated from those experiences there. These the entity should know much more about.

32. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those activities in which the Priest had set up the Temple of Sacrifice, and later the Temple Beautiful.

33. The entity then was associated with the Priest, and came near destroying most of those activities in some directions - because of the ideals and purposes of the entity.

34. When there were those activities in the Temple Beautiful, and the preparation of others for active service in other lands, the entity joined wholeheartedly.

35. Here again the entity might do well, to put together its activities and experiences. For not only did the entity become an emissary to one of those lands wherein there was much dissension, but had the ability to unite the efforts - until these were turned to self-indulgence by the companion, who is an associate of the entity in the present.

36. The name then was El-It-San.

37. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, during those periods just before the second upheaval.

38. There the entity was among the children of the Law of One, and attempting to embrace - in the services and the activities - those “things”, or the evolutionary individuals in the land by the decisions of the sons of Belial.

39. The abilities as an executive, as a politician, as a detective, as a writer, come from those applications of mental tenets and truths through that experience, - as Eschuchu.

40. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

41. First, know thyself and thy ideal, - spiritually, mentally, materially.

42. Then study to show thyself approved unto that ideal, and know ye chose wisely in Laodicea. Know that He is the way, has ever been the way; just as ye rejected Him in the Atlantean experiences, through the voices as were heard, and yet ye may again arouse this to that activity. But wait ye on the Lord, show thyself approved, a workman not ashamed.

44. (Q) Has any progress been made in the last two or three incarnations? (A) There is progress whether ye are going forward or backward! The thing is to move!

45. (Q) What progress or retrogression have I made during this present life? (A) No one may be the judge of that ye have chosen. Do RIGHT!

Dear Mr. Cayce -

Both Mr. [3063] and I wish to thank you very much for our respective Readings which interested us very much and we certainly are going to try to make good use of the help given for a better living - (Life I should say).

You have expressed in one of your letters to us the wish to see me and - on my part. I am very anxious to meet you - and I wonder if it could be possible for me to go to Virginia Beach for a week or so - But to do so I would like first to know what chances I’ll have to see you as you said you were extremely busy - Could you let me know as soon as possible when it would be most convenient for you to have me come down so that I can have a few good conversations with you. There are many things I would like to discuss with you in reference to the Readings.

Also - I have been told that the climate is very warm just now at Virginia Beach - but is it also very warm in September? - I have no idea of where to put up for my stay and if you know of a nice quiet hotel or inn not too expensive but comfortable I would be very grateful if you would give me its name so that I can make reservations ahead of time - I am sorry to bother you with so many questions but I do not want to make the long trip if I have no chance to meet you or to find that there is no rooms available.

Mr. [3063] and I also would like to know if it is possible to have a Reading for a more detailed Period or periods described in our Readings and if you would recommend it for Mr. [3063] and myself - Also what exactly is given in a “Mental & Spiritual Reading” and which benefits to get from it - [See Life Rdgs. 3027-2 and 3063-1.]

In Mr. [3063]‘s Reading - To his question “Did I meet [3027] in another Life and in what capacity?” The answer is “This should be paralleled according to each one’s own experience”

Dear [3027]:- Thank you for yours of the twentieth. I do hope that your readings for both you and Mr. [3063] will continue to be a source of real help. Most people find that as to read these over from time to time they will find much that they did not understand at first. It is through the wordage of the information that is sometimes very confusing and we can read into or read out of most anything we are looking for, but if we really want something that will help, I think we can find it. I wish you could visit Va. Beach for I would like to know you personally and discuss the readings with you. As you have noticed from the appointments, I am busy from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the other time of the day I am near normal any way. I want you to stop in if you come to the Beach. It is rather warm just now but there is a good, cool breeze almost all of the time.

It is no bother for your questions. Yes, we have quite often given readings, taking some particular period and giving a detailed reading on that particular period. I do not recall just where you or Mr. [3063] [were?] either, but if you would take a reading on that particular period, use the name that was given - there it gives a whole time on that period - and you get a different understanding about what the activities were during that period. What is meant by the [Mr. [3063]‘s] reading about the Association is that you should parallel your own reading and you would possibly find reading where you were associated.

R5. 3/15/44 EC’s ltr. to Miss [3027]:

Miss [3027] New York, New York

Dear [3027]:

It’s a pretty pass when I have to dictate a letter to you, but for the last three or four weeks I haven’t been able to think or write anything straight.

I know you will be perturbed when I tell you I was in New York for three or four days and sick as a “pisoned pup.” I was in the hotel and went to the doctor every day for Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and got worse all the while. I tried several times Sunday morning, Monday and Wednesday mornings, to phone you, but no soap. Came home and went right to bed and haven’t had my head up until just a day or two ago. I am up and walking around, but can’t do much yet.

Just got your letter of the 11th, enclosing the pictures. Thanks very much. As soon as I am able, I will write you. Please pardon me for having to dictate this letter.

How sad to hear you are not yet all feeling well my Fisherman

• But good to hear the Reading does not order an operation
• Feel sure that if you follow the treatments you’ll soon feel well again - Am so sorry to know you are suffering and feeling so low - But please take good care of yourself and rest - If you don’t follow the Readings…who will?…and you better have faith in them too -

Was good to hear [from?] you the other day - you did keep me anxious for so long - was every day expecting a little note from you - I had to be at the [3063]‘s last week but had the office check every day if there was a letter from you at home

• and every day it was “no…nothing!!…” So I had to call up the Beach and was glad to have you on the wire - but very sad to hear you are still not well at all…my poor Fisherman
• If you have the courage and a few moments wouldn’t you tell me what the Readings say is wrong with you - Gizard?…that’s very painful and long to cure I believe…

R9. 1/2/46 HLC’s ltr. to Miss [3027]:

Miss [3027] New York, N.Y.

Dear [3027]:

I have read your name so many times in my mother’s letters as “Jackie” and hear others speak of you that it is difficult to think in more formal terms.

May I thank you for the help and encouragement you gave my mother and father during the difficult time of their illnesses. It meant a great deal for me to know that they had such friends during that period when my brother and I could not be with them.

From my letter to Mr. [3063] you may already know that we are planning a small meeting in New York on January 19th, to discuss the whole program of Association affairs. There will be about twenty people present, some old and some new friends. It is an attempt to get a good cross section of ideas in building our program. I hope that one or both of you can be present.

We plan to begin this meeting late in the morning, stop for lunch and continue the discussions into the afternoon until the complete outline has been covered. I will advise you of the time and place.

R10. 1/15/46 Miss [3027]‘s ltr. to HLC:

Dear Mr. Cayce -

I am very late in answering your letter of January 2nd - but I find myself in front of the problem of trying to make meet my thoughts on spiritual matters and the great friendship with which I always felt myself surrounded at your Father’s place.

It was a great privilege to be near your Father & Mother during their last days and I will always keep in my heart the affection they both gave me -

Your Father opened the door for me to many new thoughts which I could not help but study - and those studies have brought me to a different line of thought -

And, today - to be - as your Father used to say - sincere with myself - I have to tell you that I will not be able to attend the meeting of January 19th, in New York - and will not renew my membership of the Association -

This is a very hard decision for me to take and my only hope is that you will be understanding and that Gladys, Mae, Catherine will be also understanding and that this decision will not affect the friendship they have for me - which I will always keep for them - I will shortly write Gladys unless she comes to New York and I see her -

Trusting my late answer has not inconvenienced you I remain
