This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of December, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [303], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:35 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Virginia.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them.

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [303]; this we have had before.

  3. As we find, the present exhausted conditions of the body are the results of the unbalancing of that vital strength and influence that is necessary to keep the body going. As is indicated, there is very little resistance in the body, as has been indicated. The vitality is low, the blood supply is low, and whenever there is the upsetting in either the mental or imaginative forces, and in the assimilating forces, there is produced the rush of lymph in its circulation - or the emunctory circulation - to some portion that is being exhausted by whatever manner of exertion has been over- indulged in by the body. Thus a tie-up in the eliminations is caused.

  4. This immediately sets up poisons to portions of the body, and they may effect the elimination, the digestion, the kidneys, the heart, the circulation through the lung, throat, OR even any organs in the sensory forces of the body.

  5. The condition in the present, then, is that of sheer exhaustion, and lack of the vital forces necessary to carry on. And the more the body uses up the energies, the greater becomes the strain on the WHOLE of both nervous systems.

  6. That as would aid the body MOST would be rest; AND taking of foods that would gradually build up the body. To constantly add medicines to an already overtaxed body is merely to be as splicing, as only temporary conditions to be sure; yet to the very mind of the body these are necessary.

  7. Then, these as we find are those things best adapted to what might be said to just “patch up” the conditions for the present:

  8. DO get as much rest as is at all practical.

  9. Do take the easily assimilated foods; not those that are EVER hard or long in being digested, even in the best of circumstance.

  10. Egg yolk and milk and whiskey, with a little sugar, is very good when practical; not overindulgence in these, of course, but of evenings, or when the body does rest from its labors, have same to give the strength. But rest and retain such strength.

  11. Do, three to four times a day, if practical, take small amounts of beef juice, and merely sip this. Take at least a minute or more to assimilate, or to take even a spoonful.

  12. Do have liver, broiled, fish and fowl, as the particular parts of the diet.

  13. Do take all of the oils, - as mineral oils or olive oil, or the Halibut oil, all of these are good, but - to be sure - if they are taken in such quantities as not to assimilate with the gastric juices under the stress, they become rancid and detrimental rather than helpful to the body.

  14. Do, in taking any of these, tend to take them in small quantities and often, in preference to taking them in large doses.

  15. Then each morning take a saline, - as the Citrocarbonate, or the Eno; provided the oils have been taken rather regularly through the day. These will aid, then, without greater disturbance to the body in keeping better eliminations.

  16. Do have the oil rubs along the spine, over the limbs, over the torso of the body, at least once each day; not necessarily given scientifically each day, but when practical have these at least once a week.

  17. These, as we find, are the better manners in the present; but rest AND good assimilation are the things most needed.

  18. Ready for questions.

  19. (Q) Does the growth or knot on my back need treatment, or would it improve with my general health improved? (A) This would not have reoccurred had the general health improved. Hence it would improve, with the general health improved; though it has set up a circulation in itself at present. Do not rub more than is possible under the existent conditions. Do not have it treated locally as yet. Later it may become necessary, if it continues to grow. If the general health can be resuscitated, or resuscitation be set up, this should be eradicated and not grow so much more.

  20. (Q) Should any of the treatments or medicines I am now taking be stopped? (A) Compare with that just given, and use the own judgments, - as to the needs, as to the requirements. Those foods as indicated, the smaller doses of ALL properties given, will be more helpful than a lot of medicines. Of course, do keep up the B vitamins; but those, as everything else, if they are taken when there are stoppages or the lack of proper assimilation and distribution, they become at times disturbing forces rather than beneficial. So, there must be some consistency and some thought taken as to when such are taken, even as these. But do take those that will assimilate of the B and B-Complex vitamins.

  21. (Q) Do I have any glandular trouble? (A) This is a bad question for this body to ask! Is there any trouble that you HAVEN’T got, would be best to ask! There is much to be accomplished. These, of course, are portions of the trouble. But, as given, do that consistently, if there would be brought about better conditions.

  22. We are through with this Reading.
