This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of June, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3036], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body, answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: We have the body here, [3036].
-
As we find, conditions are such that, while they may not be serious in the present, they are rather in the position where they might easily become serious.
-
Then, we would give warnings respecting those tendencies that exist, and we would have the corrections made very soon; else those tendencies for such a leakage, produced by the blocking of circulation, either in the lymph or in the nerves, may be such as to cause a stroke - or a draining of blood into or through the veins or arteries themselves. Thus lesions might be formed upon the outside of the blood flow, - or clot - either in brain or in some portion of the body; or else we will find such an irregularity in the pressure of blood supply and of the pulsation accompanying same, as to become very, very aggravating to the body.
-
The lack of the proper metabolism and katabolism in the system causes this dizziness, these periods of quick tiredness, the needs to be in the open more.
-
We find these pathological conditions exist:
-
The blood is slowed at times, and then it may become very quick. The metabolism is showing some pressure, and irregularity - too much so for the better conditions of the body.
-
There are poisons on account of lack of elimination, and certain areas become reflexly affected under a very poor stimulated nerve supply to locomotions, to hands, - yes, even to the very reflexes of mental conditions also.
-
As we find, to make corrections in the proper manner:
-
We would keep away from sedatives or drugs as much as practical.
-
Beware of many things that are seen or indicated in the diet; that is, of overacid-producing foods, or those that become in that nature of too great a quantity of bulk - and thus causing the greater expansion in the area of digestion and lack of proper elimination of the fecal forces.
-
In making for proper eliminations, we find that this may best be done by having regular periods of taking a small quantity daily of Eno Salts. Take a teaspoonful in a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken, for three to four days - regularly - or take it for five days, then leave it off entirely for the next five or six days. Then begin over again, and so on.
-
Also each week we would have a general hydrotherapy treatment; this to include not a dry heat sweat but a mild cabinet fume bath, and with this use small quantities of Atomidine in the fume cup - two teaspoonsful of Atomidine to the four ounces of water that would be boiling in the cup under the body to produce the fumes.
-
Following such a fume bath, have a thorough rubdown (after the shower, of course), with a combination of three parts Pine Oil and one part Olive Oil.
-
In the diets and the activities, - beware of too much fats or too much unusual combinations of starches; else we may find these producing greater irritation to heart, lungs, liver and kidneys than exists in the present.
-
And these, as we find, will bring better conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is this condition described the cause of the occasional dizzy spells? (A) The cause is the unbalanced metabolism and katabolism of the body.
-
(Q) Am I working longer hours than I should at my age (66)? (A) Yes, working long hours - but as we find, if there are the changes as indicated, this may not be too great a stress.
-
(Q) Would it be better for me to continue to live in the present apartment, or to move back to the suburbs where I have a house which I have not been able to sell? (A) Move back to the country. For, this will require that there be efforts made, and thus may the entity be able to keep the idle periods from becoming a disturbance to the body.
-
(Q) The servant question enters also into this. Can you give me any advice regarding same, in case I move back to the country? (A) As we find, it may be practical or possible for the entity to obtain a housekeeper, or someone to look after same - when the body is - usually - absent for the day.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 2/8/44 Sister-in-law’s letter: “You gave my husband’s brother a rdg. sometime ago [3036] who was very pleased and benefited by it…”
R2. 5/3/44 Letter: “Following your suggestions the dizziness which bothered me at that time was relieved and I felt much better until lately. Now these dizzy spells are bothering me again and I should like to have another rdg. as soon as possible to ascertain what causes them and to see if my metabolism is off again; if so, what to do about it.”
R3. 6/14/44 “I am glad to say my condition is much better than it was at time of 1st rdg. I still have slight dizzy spells and headaches at times but the hydrotherapy treatments you recommended have helped that condition. My circulation does not seem to be as good as it should be, and I should like to know what causes the dizzy feeling and what should be done to improve it. I have had no aid from the medical profession. I have more faith in God than in doctors - Can you give me the name of the manufacturer of Atomidine which you advise using in connection with the hydrotherapy treatments?”
- Is the metabolism off again? Is that what is causing return of the dizzy spells? What should be done now? Is this also the cause of the headaches?
- Should I continue hydrotherapy treatments in same manner as previously suggested?
R4. 6/30/44 See 3036-2.
Background
Background
B1. 5/25/43 Questions:
- What causes the occasional dizzy spells?
- Am I working longer hours than I should at my age (66)? (Government hours - 8 hrs. a day 6 days a week.)
- Would it be better for me to continue to live in the present apartment or to move back to the suburbs where I have a house which I have not been able to sell? (altho I have had it on the market for 15 months or more. The servant question enters also into this. This sounds like rather a foolish question, but maybe you can help me to come to a decision. Since my wife’s death last March, I cannot seem to come to a definite decision as to what to do.
