1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [3037].

4. The seal of life for the entity would be rather of interest, and should be a part of the experience of the entity as an emblem, a reminder to the entity of the truth in that so often heard repeated and yet so few interpret: “The Lord thy God is one Lord.”

5. We find that the seal would be:

6. A book, open. Upon the page would be, in the upper left-hand corner, the sun - in its color and brilliancy, in a vignette.

7. Below to the right would be the crescent, and just below this a very brilliant five-pointed star.

8. On the opposite page would be the Cross, this in relief.

9. These fill all knowledge. The Cross the way, the star the guiding light, the moon those various changing phases of man’s consciousness, and the sun as of righteousness.

10. The book would be white and gold, and about same a scroll.

11. This we would have executed and kept as a reminder of that as may be interpreted from the records we find here of that entity now called [3037].

12. In choosing the interpretations of the records, these as choose with the desire and purpose that this be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to better fulfil those purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.

13. No soul enters consciousness by chance; though there may be accidents, to be sure - as there was in creation.

14. The urges that are latent and manifested are oft interpreted as indicated in the seal, through the relationship the entity bears to the astrological aspects of material consciousness. Not because the sun, the moon or the stars were at a certain position at the time of birth. To be sure, these are significant - but WHO is given authority as concerning the earth, as concerning the universe, or this present solar system?

15. The souls that are aware of their being in a consciousness as they pass through the environ, or the dimension of that consciousness. Just as in the earth it is known as three dimensions, yet man may think in an eight-dimensional consciousness.

16. Hence each of the environs about this present solar system has its part in the abilities or the awareness of each entity, as it enters same, or as it passes through, - in the same manner as each entity passing through a grade in school is subject to the lessons the mental self retains or uses, or applies, in whatever may be the problem in its relationship to other things, other conditions, or to other souls.

17. Thus, as indicated for this entity, - Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus all become a part of the consciousness or awareness, or the manner in which this entity thinks or reacts. For, as the earth is a three-dimensional awareness or consciousness, - indicated by body, mind, soul, - so is the universal consciousness manifested or expressed in the three-dimensional as Father, Son, Holy Spirit; while it might be manifested or indicated in many more in Jupiter, Venus, Mercury or Uranus. For, each has its consciousness, just as each entity has its abilities, its activities.

18. As they manifest in the awareness of this entity:

19. One with an exceptional mind - beautiful mind; thinks straight; usually correct as to its judgments, and dislikes very much to be disputed. Learn to be tolerant, and know there are other minds as well as thine. These from their awareness or consciousness may be correct. This ye meet oft in thy children. For these we find in various consciousnesses to thine own.

20. In Mercury we find the high mental ability.

21. In Venus we find the love of home, beauty, and especially music. DO give music to one of thy children. Do instruct and follow thyself with this unfoldment in them, for it will aid in unfolding thy own awareness.

22. We find in Jupiter not only the benevolent but the awareness in the universal consciousness. These also bring the desires and hopes.

23. In Uranus we find the interest in the unusual, the extremes, the awareness in what is ordinarily termed the metaphysical, or that having to do with the universal or unseen forces or activities.

24. Hence abilities are a part of the awareness of this entity. And from these may be indicated that which is the chart of the life, - the Cross, the way; the Mind then the Builder, as IS the awareness of the spiritual source of light in the sun - both s-u-n and s-o-n.

25. The star and the moon bring those helps, those forces, those changes, - as the BOOK is the One; not merely the individual, but that which comprises the book and the material within is of many more than three-dimensional consciousnesses to the entity.

26. As to the appearances in the earth, - while not all may be indicated, - we find these are the greater influences in the present sojourn of the entity. For this entity, as many, is among those souls that seek manifestations or parts of what may be termed a GROUP. Thus we find the varied individuals, the varied groups having their effect even upon the abilities of the entity. For, as indicated from the seal, all are correlated, are dependent, are ONE in the Book. Thus they are as relative one to another.

27. Before this, then, we find that the entity was in the land of the present sojourn, during that particular period of settlings around parts of Maryland, when there were definite associations of groups as related to the spiritual growth, or spiritual unfoldment; the seeking for abilities of self-expression.

28. Thus to the entity in the present we find there must be freedom of thought, there must be freedom of expression. And yet there is still held by the entity that as of there being some one definite thing that is more correct than another. Yet the fact, as the entity sees illustrated, as well as finds demonstrated in its experience, is that all such is RELATIVE. For the Lord thy God is one, and He is not a respecter of persons, but rather looketh on the heart than on the outward appearance.

29. Thus the hopes, the aspirations of self have as much influence upon what is to be, as does the fact of an act today. For, a force one spends is a part of the past, or a consciousness that must be used or rejected.

30. For, there is constantly set before thee good and evil, life and death, - choose thou. For it is the awareness within. And as the lawgiver gave, “Think not who will descend from heaven, or who will come from over the sea, for, Lo, it is within thine own heart. Thus, as the sources of light indicate, - either in the sun or the moon or the stars, - from whatever source these may rise, - these must come through, and have their own, Cross. For, the way of the Cross leadeth to the more perfect understanding

31. In the experience the entity gained, for it became an instructor, a director for the young peoples, for groups. Thus in the present, not merely because of its own offspring, but there is a universal awareness of the desire to instruct or direct, not merely in the material things but in the mental aspirations and spiritual truths, to the young.

32. Here is the hope of the world - in the young. For as you find in self, ye have encased thyself with ideas until it is oft very disturbing to be upset even by other opinions. This ye have to meet in thyself. Not becoming so open-minded as to forget the source of light, but others may think - and what a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

33. The name then was Marianne Henry.

34. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land, during those periods when there were the activities following the life of the Master in the earth.

35. The entity as a child knew John the beloved. The entity heard John’s exhortation to little children. The entity heard and knew of the persecutions of those who had been close with the Master.

36. The entity made application of those tenets and truths among the peoples especially in those lands about Gennesareth. In the experience the entity gained. For, the entity became - though far from the cloisters that are made today - a sister superior in a school in that land, under the aid even from the Romans.

37. Thus we find the entity capable of meeting many hard problems where others may fail. When it touches the political or social life the entity is capable of meeting those problems and of arousing an interest in those that are in political or economic authority.

38. Use such, do not abuse such, - just as ye did in the experience then, as Jueneta.

39. Before that the entity was in the Midian land, through which the children of promise passed. The entity harkened to those tenets of those peoples, during the periods of sojourn there. The awareness of the plague brought about in those periods, of the Midianites, and the activities of the king, as well as the prophet turned to blessing rather than cursing. And the entity became among those peoples - as it entered the Promise Land.

40. The entity, in the experience and in the acceptance of those changes, brought those activities that aided in the spiritual and material instructions to those with whom the entity became associated in that period.

41. The name then was Shelah.

42. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those activities of preparations for the needs for definite service, through those offices of the Temple Beautiful.

43. There the entity prepared as an emissary, and the entity had in those experiences the associations with the individuals from the Atlantean land, and the offspring that grew there were the companions of the entity. And that individual who is the companion today was the companion through that experience.

44. Thus you find many experiences that are as of olden days, and look forward to many a new experience, even with the years of working, laboring, planning together. Almost an ideal association.

45. Be in that position of meeting those problems there, as has been indicated in the necessity for changes in the present activities.

46. The name then was Ist-Elah.

47. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

48. First, find self - as to its own ideals, - spiritual, mental, material.

49. Then study to show thyself approved unto that ideal, a workman not ashamed, rightly dividing the words of truth; condemning none, keeping self unspotted from the world.

50. In those fields of instruction, as in the home, as in the teaching of small groups, are the greater fortes and the outlets where greater things and experiences may come to the entity.

51. Keep the faith in self as it manifested the faith in the Christ.

52. (Q) What is my major lesson to be learned in this experience? (A) As indicated, it is in meeting those needs of being patient - even with those that worry thee much.

53. (Q) Am I making proper headway spiritually, or has my material circumstance stilted such growth? (A) As indicated, this is almost ideal. Never be satisfied, but do be content. Press on to the mark of higher calling, and know ye have a duty, ye have an obligation, - to be ever a shining light to others. If not the sun, the moon; if not the moon, a tiny star. But keep a light, a hope. And they must all be in the Cross of Jesus.

54. (Q) Are my ideas, which I put into writing from time to time, on occult subjects, essentially correct? (A) In general, correct. But keep the Cross above same, ever.

Let that mind be in thee ever as ye sought the teachings of the lawgiver, as ye found in the way, the truth, the light, as ye heard from John the beloved. And thy vision of the light will come stronger and stronger to thee.

Dear Mr. Cayce;

I had thought, on my trip home, that I would immediately write to you to let you know how enlightening I felt my visit and reading had been; but, instead of that I have found myself busy ‘living’ up to said enlightenment rather than eager to talk of it! However, I do want you to know that I received much ‘food for thought’ from my visit with you, and feel highly confident that from that day on my spiritual diet became better balanced and more complete.

Yesterday I purchased another copy of ‘your book’ as my friends in Washington are apparently still passing my first copy around, and I intend to read a part of it each evening to my children at the seashore this summer as the best way I know to introduce to them some truths which are ordinarily kept mysteriously aloof from the teachings to youngsters.

Will you please give me another appointment for a Life Reading for my oldest daughter [5359], as soon as you have an opening? Did you say that would not be until November? I will enclose the filled in application blank as soon as I can conveniently send the required fee, but won’t you kindly put her name down for sometime this November? R2. 6/16/43 [3037]‘s letter to GD:

Dear Miss Davis,

This is just a note to let you know how very much I enjoyed my short visit with you. It does not seem to be my lot in life to ‘fall in’ with any folk of my own age who share my deep interest in spiritual studies - in fact, none of my friends or associates seem to feel it’s normal to even mention the name of God - other than to swear! I’ve never been able to understand this, inasmuch as my Mother spoke of God and our Souls as freely to me as she might speak of the weather; so I guess it’s all in the way folks are brought up at home. That is perhaps the reason I’m looking forward to the time I feel I’m equipped properly to form a discussion group for youngsters, whereby their interest in spiritual truths may be developed; for too many of them I know get almost no enlightenment in their homes, (the parents themselves having no interest!) The way I feel about the ordinary person’s aversion to ‘a higher plane of conversation’ I expressed in a little poem which is enclosed. You can hardly feel the same as I do about this for you apparently move in an environment whose atmosphere is compatible to your own. However, now you will see why I found it so very enjoyable to know you, even for such a short time!

Thank you for the literature contained within my Reading envelope, for I found it all very enlightening. The Reading itself I deem as a Magic Mirror, that I may hold up to myself from time to time and note if my spiritual face needs powdering!

I have written a short paper on the subject of the Time dimension (which first interested me when I began to experience precognitive dreams) and as it concludes logically that Time and Space are only illusions of material life, thereby removing the only two prejudices against the COMMON herd’s acceptance of psychical powers, I am wondering if it would if it would be a useful insertion anywhere in the Association’s literature dealing with explanations - particularly for the readers approaching from science rather than from faith? It is my contention that so very many puzzled people are skeptics and scorners merely because no one wishes to insult the ‘common’ intelligence by putting all the pieces of the puzzle together for them - at least simply enough so that it may be understood by two-syllable mentalities! (so perhaps a contribution from a two-syllable mentality like my own would be helpful to some readers. If you should think so, I would be glad to forward it.)

I know you are very busy with necessary correspondance, so don’t at all expect any prompt reply, however, if and when you do have some spare time and would care to write me I would be delighted to hear from you.

“Why is it thought so out of date Upon Life’s plan to meditate? My friends say ‘you’re too serious - For goodness sake don’t weary us!’ To speak of abstract mystery Instead of football history When with a group brings forth a hoot, Or worse yet, chill obscurity.

I think it queer that God and such As food for thought aren’t rated much; Folks seem to think ‘you’re going nuts’ And in all kinds of mental ruts If you should speak of some deep thought Instead of what you have, or bought; Their eyebrows raise, they blankly gaze As though in pure surprize they’re caught.

Why is it I seem odd to them And probably tiresome also, when Upon some cosmic thought I spin And from delight can’t hold it in But foolishly attempt to share Its gist with minds that do not care? Perhaps they’re right - and yet it might Be that they’re sadly ‘unaware’.”

Dear Mrs. [3037]

I have yours of June 16th. I could not help but think, throughout the series of meetings held last week, of you and wish for you to be present. I think all of us connected directly with the readings felt impressed especially with you and your sincerity in your search for Truth. I do hope that you do find something worthwhile in the information attempted for you. I feel too it is just as I told you when you were here, this information is something that requires study on the part of the seeker. And if it answers to a something deep within, we have something to tie to. If not, it is best that the individual forget it.

Our meeting last week was a very wonderful series of meetings. And I believe it was the concensus of opinion of everyone here, it was one of the best meetings that we have had. You will no doubt want one of the Congress booklets. It is part of the data sent to active members, or is priced at $1.00 for the Associates or friends of the Association. If I remember correctly, yours is an Active membership. Will be glad to make an appointment for the Life Reading for your daughter. I hope you will fill out another one of the blanks for her, giving us the information necessary for the reading, and also make a list of questions, regarding any special thing that she is interested in. You will know possibly better from your own reading the type of questions that might be most helpful to her. The first open period is the afternoon of November 4, 3:30 to 4:30 Eastern Wartime. Dear [3037]

Do you mind if I call you by your first name? Since your lovely letter, I feel so very close to you - altho I haven’t acted like it, in waiting so long to answer. At our little Bible Group meeting on Tuesday night I passed around your letter and the poem, knowing that the members of the group would appreciate them as I did.

Now, I’m going to ask a favor. Would you mind if we use the poem in our Bulletin? I think it would be very helpful to many of our members. Also we’d be VERY glad to have the paper you have written on the subject of Time dimension, which could also be used in one of the monthly Bulletins. Now that Hugh Lynn Cayce is in the army, we depend on our members in various parts of the country to contribute suitable material for these Bulletins.

I do wish you could have been here during the Congress, if for no other reason than to meet Mrs. [2946]. You remember, perhaps, that she reviewed THERE IS A RIVER in The Christian Century magazine - a Methodist publication. She is one of the loveliest persons I’ve ever seen, and has such a wonderful understanding spiritually. According to her Life Reading, she was ‘the other Mary’ at the time of the Master, being married to the older brother of John the beloved, and was one of the ‘holy women.’ So, comparing your Reading and hers, I’m SURE you would have felt immediate kinship.

Mrs. David Kahn, from Scarsdale, was also here during the Congress and I told her that I was hoping you two could get together sometime. She is working with young people all the time, and both her boys are studying piano.

In looking on the map I find that … must not be so very far from Englewood, and if it isn’t I’d like you to get in touch with Mrs. Wilfred Sechrest, 530 Broad Ave., Englewood. She is one of our new members, who read the book and had her Life Reading, and then came to the Congress. She and her husband (he is an engineer) have been interested in all the things you have, and I’m sure you would find much in common. She is about your age. It would be interesting for you to compare Life Readings. If you have a chance, won’t you get in touch with her - tell her I suggested it.

I could go on and on, but there is so much I keep thinking of I’d never get through.

Dear Gladys,

I’m so pleased at your friendliness in using first names - I also had the urge to do so immediately.

Of course it would be gratifying to me if my little poems or anything else I have written could seem worthy of your publication. To be quite frank, the novelty of having anyone take an interest in my ‘thought expressions’ would be such as to give me a very real thrill; for as I have already told you, my family and friends are entirely unsympathetic with abstract exploration. For my part, I never cease to wonder at the contradiction they support, i.e. though the concrete things they value above all else crumble and disintegrate before their very eyes, they still hold to them as being superior in value to things of the spirit - which, though truly real and everlasting, are much more difficult for impatient humans to grasp hold of.

However, since becoming better acquainted with my astrological horoscope I have learned to accept this particular incompatibility - as explained by the major aspect in my chart; Mercury (Mind) in Scorpio (occult & hidden things) in my 10th House of Profession, Ambition, & Native’s Major Urge - BUT SQUARE in ASPECT to Jupiter my Ruling Planet, (fortune, success, happiness) which resides in my 7th House of Marriage, where I had the sign Leo, (children, entertainment, romance). This explains very clearly why my deepest urge is to explore the unseen, and attempt to bring it out into the open, but that all of this is entirely at cross-purposes to the dominant position of my sun-sign’s ruler, Jupiter, which is so beneficially placed in the house of marriage for me, stressing all of the activities and pleasures denoted by such a partnership! It is truly a constant combat between forces!

Although Astrology has always given me the understanding of ‘what’ we all are like, it was only when my ‘Reading’ gave me a deeper and more personal understanding of Reincarnation that I came to comprehend ‘why’ we are so. I am so deeply grateful for this new understanding which has helped me to better interpret the whole cosmic puzzle.

I shall send to you my paper on the Time Dimension as soon as I can copy it off. Please understand It is merely my humble explanation - not to intellectuals who could express it much better than I - but only to those who (from lack of personal experience, or lack of thought on the subject) are persistently stumped in their comprehension of existence other than ‘material’ due to the common ignorance of Time being merely a dimensional limit to material life, such as is Space!

My family say that only a few intellectuals even pretend to understand the 4th dimension, so that I can’t possible comprehend it. But I do - and everyone can, if not by personal experience with precognitive dreams etc., which began my understanding, then by reading such books as Dunne’s “Experiments with Time”.

The reason I wish the average person also could understand this clearly is that the puzzling questions in their groping minds would then mostly be answered by the presence of a correct estimation of Time and Space. The important point to be proved being that the real life, or spiritual existence, is impervious to Time and therefore death, as in contrast to our material existence, but also to prove that there IS an existence outside the limits of Time and Space. This truth is completely substantiated by the Readings, of course, but to the average person I still contend that a new and precise understanding of how RELATIVE Time and Space are in the Cosmic scheme is necessary before spiritual skepticism will be wiped away. Although it may seem bold for an amateur like myself to attempt any part of such a job, still it is true that those who need understanding the most, ordinarily don’t comprehend clearly the language of ‘the intellectuals’ and so in self defense will scorn it all!

I appreciate your thoughtfulness in suggesting names of those I might find it interesting to correspond with. Although I have not as yet done so, it is only due to lack of proper time and concentration; you see, the moments when I can find privacy for my ‘private thinking’ come very seldom these vacation days, for my cottage here is full of noisy children most of the time. They are at an age when to be constantly doing something is of supreme importance, and I find it unwise to seclude myself from their moods in favor of my own.

I’m looking forward to the Congress Booklet; please let me know what fee I owe for it. All of the literature I have received so far from you has interested and helped me greatly; I don’t want to miss any of it, please.

How I have rambled on with this letter - it just proves that you need to hardly know a person at all, in the formal sense of that word, to feel akin to someone right from the start. I realize that you have a great deal of letter-writing which keeps you very busy, but I do hope you will find time to continue our correspondence. I wish I knew more about you and your life - I am always so interested in how other people arrive at their particular awareness!

WHAT IS TIME? [by [3037]]

Time, contrary to common presumption, does not ‘fly’ nor does it ‘pass by quickly or slowly’ and the truth is surely misconstrued when we say ‘Time and tide wait for no man’ - but rather we might complain that so far Man has not found it possible to stay HIS own inevitable movement THROUGH Time.

Man, physiologically, is in a perpetual growing motion called ‘being alive’ and this physiological movement is measured for its spatial existence or age by a man-made plan we call Time. This Time plan is merely a theoretical convenience, conceived in order to measure the space of Man’s movement (both physiological and physical) through this material, and therefore dimensionally limited, existence.

Thus Time is an abstract copy of a vast yet motionless yardstick, reaching endlessly into spatial existence, as a method of measuring our real dimension of physiological space - a dimension each existing thing acquires by the very act of existing through what we call Time, but which is more accurately called Space.

Consequently, Time and Space are essential partners, incorporated by their interdependence. Hence, in further reference to either the proper title to be used is Spatial-time. Though their meanings are paralleled in usage they are distinguishable in character. Space may be likened to an endless bolt of tapestry cloth picturing all material existence, while Time is merely the dimensional measurement of all that cloth.

Then the Past, Present, and Future are just imaginary points on this imaginary yardstick. To say what point in Time is which is a purely relative matter, depending on whether or not one is in motion and in what direction. ‘Now’ is your Present - it is your ancestors’ Future - and your descendants’ Past! Do you realize that it is only the directional quality of our Physiological Time-space dimension which divorces our Past from our Future? Then imagine a state of consciousness free from our physiological properties, i.e. our material bodies, (such as after ‘death’) and you’ll find that Past and Future are meaningless terms; in fact, such a state can’t be said to involve Time at all if Time is but a term of measurement for physiological spatial existence!

All of this shows Time to be not only an abstract term, useful on our material plane alone, but a confining term as well, for does it not prejudice our conception of the so-called Past and Future, not allowing them credit for the quality of permanence they truly possess? Isn’t it only that ghost we call Time which marks off the Present as the only space existing. Without this abstract measurement would not all space - Past, Present, and Future, - be one timeless space?

But the directional quality of material life and growth calls for such a measure to parallel its progress and to fit its limitations. Thus, we lose sight of the forest being too close to the trees - which is to say that we fail to recognize the unity of spatial-time in material existence, being marked off as we are by Time itself into seemingly un-unified spaces called the Present.

Now supposing the Time plan had not been conceived for our convenience, and the terms past, present, and future, and seconds, minutes, and hours were completely erased from our knowledge - then the spatial existence of anything would be one whole unbroken unit or dimension, measured by nothing but creation and termination. But because Time is so conveniently applicable to our physiological progress, this dimension is named the Time dimension to distinguish it from other spatial dimensions.

Were it possible for one of us to ‘arrest’ the motion of our own physiological train, shooting through Spatial-time, long enough to watch from any ‘station’ en route the flight of any other physiological train as it completely appears and disappears, (that is, the physiological existence of anything as one whole unit) the result of this unique observation would be ‘seeing’ the Time dimension of that existing thing!

For just as your physical self would have to get off from a moving train to actually see that train’s spatial dimensions in relation to other existence, so we would have to step out of our own physiological motion in order to glimpse that dimension of Time in other physiological existence. If a physiologically dead person could just ‘look’ at an existing object, that ‘look’ would capture the fourth dimension of the object viewed; for the Time dimension can spread into view only in contrast to the absolute halt or stoppage of Time for the observer.

Perhaps at ‘death’ when one’s physiological growth is slackening into stoppage the dimension of spatial-time might possibly be glimpsed. It is said that a person dying ‘sees’ his whole life roll before his mind’s eye. It is natural to believe it is the separation from the train of his physiological growth which places him in the role of the observer of that train fleetingly.

What we think of as the Future is ever existent in Spatial-time, we merely have not reached it as yet materially because the space of physiological growth intervenes. It is similar to saying that though an actual train we might be traveling to Texas on hasn’t reached there yet, Texas is none the less existent. The only difference separating any points from the point of arrival is Space, (Time being merely the theoretical measurement of such space). So we may say that the Past and Future are ever existent, as Spatial-time we are growing away from or growing towards, but the perpetual motion of our physiological trains keep them ever divorced from our Present.

Spiritually, however, there is no such obstacle as physiological directional growth separating one point from another, and thus no restricting Time element!

Here is material life, some minds are capable of overcoming the normal restrictions of Spatial-time during infrequent spells of apparent physiological hesitation - as in true visions and precognitive dreams - and leaping into our future spatial-time. This also argues for the existence of our Future before we arrive there, but though we may say it is ever existent it would be false to say ever present, for the physiological motion of all living things keeps a space of time (or a time of space) between the present moment and existent future moments.

Now if you’re thinking ‘where’ are these Future moments, well - ‘where’ is this Present moment which you accept as existent? If any moment, either past, present or future, is in reality just measured spatial existence (the word ‘moment’ being a child of the Time illusion remember) then all Time is all Space, and Future moments are merely the spatial existence we have not as yet grown into physiologically!…(If the word Physiological appears to be over-used here, let it be understood that the word applies better than any other single term to the very essence of what we mean by the fourth dimension, or Spatial-time.)

But to say that future spatial-time is ever existent is not a point for fatalists; it merely means to say the ‘cloth’ wherewith to clothe our destinies is flung out generously before us, but the harmony of line and color is in the precious use of our own individual free will.

Conceiving of a state of spiritual consciousness - when once our dear, dull bodies are laid to rest and directional growth is physiologically halted - it would appear from all of this that such a state will afford relation to our so-called Past (in its spiritual state, naturally not its material state!) by virtue of the absence of the Time illusion.

But if you contend that perhaps Space, if not Time, will restrict the spiritual consciousness to a certain point in Space, consider this: - Time was conceived by Man to measure existence in Space, but Space is only conceived by us in relation and contrast to the existence of matter. Take away all matter - return it to its spiritual state from whence it came - and the term Space becomes as illusory as Time. Therefore, Spatial-time is only a material dimension, and is an illusion and limitation of the world of matter.

Dear Gladys;

I was reminded by one of the Bulletins to contribute my ultimate opinion of the influence and benefit received from a Life Reading.

First of all, it has to sink into my consciousness over a period of time before I recognized the simplicity of its truth. I suppose most of us tend to glamourize all forms of discovery, and Truth, being the most valuable discovery of all, often escapes our recognition by its unglamorous dress in every-day phrases.

However, recognition took hold as I learned from day to day to discard the glamour in which my thoughts and desires and hopes had habitually been clad, and - when thus bared of selfish camouflage - know them more truly and recognize their analysis and interpretation as given in the Reading.

Of course I’ve always been aware of my faults, but to have those shortcomings (impatience with loved one and intolerance of others’ opinions) presented to me in a Life Reading as ‘pieces mislaid from the Jigsaw Puzzle of Life’ just naturally fires my ambition to set right those pieces - in other words, the Reading is helping me to see what the ‘Game’ is all about, and how it should be played!

There is no enterprise more entrancing to the progressive mind of man than that of putting together parts to make a whole; and I declare that a Life Reading is a useful blueprint to go by.

I wish to become an Active Member rather than an Associate Member, and so I enclose the extra fifteen dollars. However, how can I be a really active member without taking a more active part than that of a local propagandist? Is there any work I can do at such a distance?

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Having just finished the book, “There is a River”, and with my heart still pounding from the excitement of reading my innermost convictions so simply and beautifully expressed for all the world to understand, I feel the urge to become an Associate Member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment.

It is for no reason of idle curiosity, or thrill seeking that I am interested in Life Reading - (though finding truth in any form does thrill me deeply) but rather from a sincere desire to make proper use of my present incarnation by more fully understanding my Soul and its Karma.

The environment of living I find myself a natural part of physically, is a million miles away from the spiritual temperament I must usually suppress. Being a Sagittarian may partly be the reason I haven’t long since solved the conflict by discarding the inner disturbances which won’t conform to my outer influences. Another reason must be that a vision experienced long ago, of a gloriously golden city descending from heaven - and surrounded by water - keeps returning to my mind. (Since then, I have begun to read the Bible, and have understood my vision from its description in Revelations!)

I have so very much faith in the benefit I shall derive from this Reading that I persuaded my husband (a skeptic, though a fairly tolerant one) to let me be present at the time of my Reading. Therefore, if all goes well, I shall arrive in Virginia Beach on June 9th and contact you regarding the time and place for me to go, the next day.
