-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3038].
-
As we find, there are disturbing conditions that prevent the normal activity of the body-physical. Many things must be taken into consideration in this particular experience of the entity.
-
Portions of this are karmic - or the result of conditions that have to do with the spiritual body, finding expression in the material body in the form of being curtailed as to normal activity.
-
Hence, in gaining or regaining a near normal equilibrium, as much may depend upon the mental and spiritual attitude of the body as upon any applications of an external nature that may be made.
-
For, while from a pathological standpoint there are nerve ends destroyed, we find that these CAN be replenished or rebuilded. For, as is recognized, the body changes continuously. And through a cycle or period the body may have rebuilded or replaced itself entirely. To be sure, nominally this is termed inconsistent with the findings of many. Yet there are those abilities within self, through the application of spiritual truths, as well as in making application of the physical conditions to supply and replenish same, to bring this about.
-
The attitude, then, is the more important.
-
Then, study these - spiritually; and especially make application of same:
-
The 30th of Deuteronomy, and the 14th, 15th and 16th of John. KNOW those things indicated there, and make practical application in self, by the manner in which ye treat others. For, it is in this direction that such disturbances came.
-
In the physical or pathological conditions, - we find there has been the distress because of those pressures in the lower portion of the spinal system. Then with the effect of the very high temperature experienced with those activities that went on through the body, the immobility of the locomotory centers has been the physical result - with the effect of atrophy in the end of nerves, for the lack of circulation - either the deeper circulation or the superficial.
-
Hence these must be aroused first by the low charge of the vibratory forces that arise from mental attitude and activity in the spiritual manner.
-
Then there must be the application physically, continuously, - that is, day by day, being persistent and applying in the lower lumbar and throughout those areas where there is disturbance, extending even to the upper dorsal and through the cervical areas, - a gentle massage daily with all the body will absorb of Peanut Oil.
-
There should then be the general activities of body in the open, in activity as much as practical; keeping, living and being that indicated in the text for the study, and making not merely outward manifestations of same but deep within self.
-
Thus help will come.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should I discontinue the present treatment? (A) This must be the choice of the entity.
-
(Q) Is it possible to bring back the use of the muscles in my leg which now seem to be dead? (A) As indicated.
-
(Q) What effect have the glands upon my physical condition? (A) Very little in the present - from the pathological angle. Naturally, these are under stress - as in portions of the body these are not functioning, or it is not necessary for them to function, to such a full extent.
-
(Q) What is the best exercise for me, taking into consideration my condition? (A) That which may be taken in the open, with the using of the limbs as much as practical.
-
(Q) Please advise me as to my mental attitude toward these two conditions. (A) These have been indicated, and especially if there is the assimilating of those tenets and truths set forth in the references suggested, this should change the attitude entirely.
Do that given.
- We are through with this Reading.

R1. 6/43 Excerpt from DEK’s talk at A.R.E. Congress, in which he mentions [3038] and his father [2930]‘s reading:
I have worked very closely with him [2930], and he really had to listen to a great many of the stories whether he wanted to or not. He called me one day and said he would like to get a reading on himself. I phoned and the reading was given. He said I didn’t have to try to convince him again. He said he had had the operation for appendicitis, just the way Mr. Cayce told him, that he tired in the afternoon, and wasn’t taking proper care of himself; just to have the proper food and rest and quit worrying about what he was doing. 99% of his trouble was just that. Then he said he wanted to get a reading on his son [3038], who at an early age had an attack of infantile paralysis, so we got the reading on the boy. The reading just came in the last ten days. In the meantime they had read the book, “There Is A River.” I hadn’t sent it, his wife sent it to him; he read it, gave it to the boy. The reading states that the boy’s difficulty is purely mental. I have been with the boy for two days; I had Thomas Sugrue meet him, and I had hoped the reading would send him down to where Tom is. That’s what happened. They are going to arrange to spend the next four or five months there. That boy told me that when he doesn’t think about his trouble he can handle himself perfectly. His father’s angle and his are almost the same. The boy believes he can get well, and already he has begun to improve. That to me is the true test of what the work is worth. This boy had given up hope - he is seventeen years old, and he had given up hope of doing what the other boys do. But the reading told him he wasn’t supposed to do what other boys do, that the reason he came back in this experience is to push him to do other things. He wants to do these other things, through music and educational interests, and now his mother really feels they are going to cure him. The boy himself knows he is well already. I needn’t tell you what that means, so much depends on confidence in yourself that you can do something…”
