This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 28th day of February, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [304], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [304].]

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [304]; this we have had before. Not so good in some respects; better in others. As we find, these tendencies for cold, the strains on the system, are making for the taking of the vitality and the increasing of the strain upon the heart’s action; making for shortness of breath and the lack of strength and vitality.

  2. As we would find, first we would heat equal parts of mutton tallow or mutton suet, turpentine and camphor. Massage these over the chest and especially over the throat. And put hot flannels on same to keep these warm. We would also rub these over the lower portion of the feet, bottoms of the feet; toast them, as it were, before the fire or before any heat that will make for the drawing of the circulation towards these portions.

  3. Stimulate with spirits frumenti, or that which is strengthening with same. Also the Calcidin would be helpful, not too great quantities but small - one grain tablets taken two or three hours apart would be helpful, until we get the iodine reaction. If it upsets the stomach somewhat, then it would be necessary, of course, to resort to other measures - as would be with codeine, or the like, which would necessitate coming under the prescription of a physician. These we would not do unless there is not the response with these activities. And, as we find, these will bring the better conditions for this body.

  4. Ready for questions.

  5. (Q) What is creating the temperature in the body in the present? (A) As indicated, the cold, the fresh activity that’s making for the overactivity for the heart and the blood supply that is so overstrained.

  6. (Q) Are the towel or cloth baths over the trunk or frontal portion of the body with cold water each morning helpful to this body? (A) They are harmful to the body.

  7. (Q) Should I take an expectorant, if so what? (A) Not in the present, other than the Calcidin - as we find - making for an iodine reaction.

  8. (Q) Will you give prescription for best eliminant for this body at the present time? (A) As we find, the better eliminant would be to use the Milk of Magnesia with that combination known as Simmons’ Liver Regulator; while, of course, one is a vegetable that acts with the gastric juices of the intestinal tract and the other is a mineral. So, they should not be taken ON the same days, see?

  9. (Q) What should be the dosage of each? (A) As indicated for the Simmons’ Liver Regulator, and two tablespoonsful of the Milk of Magnesia would not be too much.

  10. (Q) How often should the Milk of Magnesia be taken? (A) Until you make the bowels act, but do not take these on the same day; or don’t take the other until the first one has acted, see?

  11. (Q) Will you give prescription for best inhalant for this body in its present condition and at the present time? (A) This has been given. [See 304-8.]

  12. (Q) Any other suggestions for the better physical condition? (A) These we would do in the present. Keep the feet warm. Keep out of drafts. Keep the diets tending towards the alkalin; for the acids tend to make for cold and make for temperatures, see?

  13. We are through with this reading.
