This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of June, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3041], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Penna.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - such a LOVELY person!

3. As we find, the conditions here are a combination of the karmic as well as of a physical condition neglected in the body.

4. These have produced multiple sclerosis, and it has advanced to such an extent that it becomes something to deal with.

5. As we find, this may be retarded, possibly not eliminated; but will depend much upon how consistent and persistent the body may be in having the administrations made.

6. For, with the lack of ability of locomotion, and the FEAR that has entered with it - and then resignation - all have their combined effect upon the expectancies of the mental and spiritual body; with hopes, yet without something to tie that hope to.

7. Here, as we find, we would begin first to administer small quantities of Atomidine (which is atomic iodine). Take one drop in half a glass of water each morning before breakfast for five days.

8. Then leave off just one day. Then begin and take TWO drops each morning for five days.

9. Leave off then for five days - or leave off entirely, but at the end of five days begin taking these other properties, which would be prepared in this manner:

10. Put one grain of Chloride of Gold to one ounce of Distilled Water. This would be one solution.

11. Put five grains of Bromide of Soda in two ounces of Distilled Water. This would be the other solution.

12. After the Atomidine has been left off for five days, then begin taking - preferably when ready to retire take two drops of the Soda Solution and one drop of the Gold Solution, stirred together in half a glass of water. Drink immediately when it is put into the water. Keep this up for five days, leave off five days, and then BEGIN ALL OVER AGAIN! that is, begin with the Atomidine as indicated and go through the whole series.

13. At the beginning of the second series of Atomidine, of taking one drop each day for five days, begin then - not before - with a massage of the lower limbs with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil, all the body will absorb. Do this each day, especially in the area from the 9th dorsal downward along the spine, and massaging in a rotary motion; not bruising the flesh, but letting the massage be inclined to be deep, all the way to the toes, and especially in the bursa of the feet, under the knees, in the area about at the beginning of the sciatic nerves, in the sacral area of the spine, and across the upper portion of the hip areas.

14. This we would keep up for some time.

15. In the diet, - take little of salt; but do have all of those foods that carry iodine and silicon; as carrots, turnips, artichoke, new corn in season (never use canned corn, however). All of these will be helpful.

16. And the results will depend upon patience, time, and the attitudes of the body.

17. But don’t lose the hold on self nor its abilities to ever be a helpful influence in the lives of those who come in contact with you, for the glory of the divine within!

18. We are through for the present.

Dear Sir:-

In response to your letter of May 28 - the date June 9, from 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. will be satisfactory for the reading. I shall be at home in bed where I spend all my time since I have taken ill eight years ago.

As I told you in my previous letter I have been paralyzed for eight years. I am paralyzed from under my arms down. I have 12 sinuses scattered on my back and thighs that drain regularly. I have to have an enema every other day as my bowels never move voluntarily. I have a retention catheter inserted in my bladder all the time.

For the past two weeks my doctor and nurse have allowed me on a wheel chair in a reclining position. This is the first time I have been in a wheel chair for seven years.

As to any questions you said I may ask: -

1. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT HAS CAUSED THIS TROUBLE?

I have had the best doctors in this section and none of them seem to know what is the cause. I have had chiropractic and osteopathic treatments and it was found I couldn’t stand them.

2. Is it possible that there can be any permanent cure or help?

3. Are there any home treatments we could use that would help?

I have use of my hands and can do all kinds of sewing, good eyesight and can read.

I have never given up hope and have always had faith that someday I might find some help.
