-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that may be asked:
-
EC: As we find, it would not be well to interfere here - in the present - not until there has been the following closely, for some weeks, of those suggestions that are being followed here.
-
Keep the mental attitude of prayerfulness, of desire for usefulness, and give expressions to same - to bring the better forces.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/13/43 Friend [3343]‘s letter to EC:
“I received your report on the reading for Mr. [3044] just as he drove by the house to see me Saturday and to see if I had received any word from you.
“I believe it was entirely natural under the circumstances, for both of us to be disappointed in not receiving the full reading which had been expected, but I think it is more than fair of you to offer another try later, and for Mr. [3044]‘s ultimate benefit I sincerely hope that a later reading can be had.
“The reading itself indicated that ‘for some weeks’ the suggestion concerning the proper mental attitude be carried out, so it would probably not be well to set a very early date for the next attempt. However you will be best able to determine when such an attempt would be in order, and we will be glad to abide by whatever interpretation you select.
“The sinus operation disclosed that an infected tooth socket was responsible for the direct condition, and it would appear that Mr. [3044] is responding satisfactorily, although he has to return to the doctor’s office for still further sinus draining operations.
“So if you will be kind enough to try for another reading, let me know at what date your schedule will permit such a further try, and Mr. [3044] will arrange to be at his home at that date.
“I would also like to know approximately how long in advance an appointment for a Life Reading must be made. I hope to be able to arrange for a Life Reading for myself as a part of an active membership in your organization - and it would help me in working out my budget to know approximately what time is involved…”
R2. 6/29/43 Friend [3343]‘s letter to EC:
”…I phoned Mr. [3044] and the new date which you have indicated for his reading is entirely satisfactory. At that time he will plan to be at his home address and in the meantime he will communicate with you and prepare a different set of questions. Incidentally he seems to be getting along very nicely since the operation…”
R3. 9/27/43 [3044]‘s letter to EC:
“Mr. [3343] wants me to mail the following questions to you for your meeting… The following questions are the ones of interest to me: 1. Shall I permit another operation to take place for sinus in the upper region? The lower left side has been operated on and the infection stopped from that source. 2. There is still some trouble apparently over my left eye. Are my stomach disorders due to sinus? 3. Can my left eyesight be improved through the above mentioned operation? 4. Are there any other physical deficiencies of which I am unaware? 5. What would you recommend I do to regain some weight and generally improve my health including eyes and weak stomach? 6. Are my hunches to be followed in matters requiring decisions? Are they dependable?”

Background
Background
B1. 5/29/43 Friend, [3343]‘s letter to EC: ”…He has had a sinus infection for some time, as well as rapidly failing sight of his left eye, and the doctors have finally decided that he must have an operation this week. I let him read the book of your life, and he agreed to hold off on the operation
- so I am sending a properly filled out application of membership with a request for a Physical Reading for him…”
B2. 6/4/43 Friend [3343]‘s letter to EC:
“Thank you for your prompt reply… The doctor apparently does consider the sinus infection too serious for further delay, therefore they have scheduled an operation for Tuesday, June 8th.
“However, he may need the reading just as urgently then as now, for it will be two days after the operation, so I would appreciate having you conduct the reading at the scheduled time, namely the morning of June 10th.
“You did not indicate how many questions were permissible, so we are simply enclosing all that we can think of, in the order in which we would like for them to be asked, and if we have given too many then just take the ones that are permitted.
“The doctor thinks that Mr. [3044] will be allowed to be home within a day or two of the operation, so the reading should be taken at Mr. [3044]‘s home address, but if anything develops that he cannot be home, then I will telegraph the hospital room number in time for the reading.
“I am enclosing a separate sheet containing Mr. [3044]‘s home address and a list of questions. I have complete faith in the principle of the readings and I feel that Mr. [3044] will receive valuable suggestions as to the ultimate improvement of his health.”
Questions enclosed with above letter:
- What caused the present illness of this body?
- Has the operation eliminated the source of trouble?
- If not, can the difficulty be corrected without further operation?
- What has caused the gradual loss of sight of left eye? Will this condition be remedied by the operation?
- Why did the hair on the left side of the head become gray before the other side was similarly affected?
- Will the fact that my teeth have been pulled tend to improve my health?
- Should the tonsils and adenoids be removed?
- Why do my feet seem always to be cold?
