This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of June, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3046], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Mass.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3046], - and we find that conditions have gradually grown to be rather serious with this body.

3. While in the beginning a great deal might have been accomplished, much has become of such a nature that it is producing a form of reaction between the heart and the kidneys as to cause a cutting off of the circulation.

4. Thus those accumulations of poisons in the lower limbs, and the feet.

5. These are conditions as we find them:

6. There has long been a subluxation that exists in the upper dorsal and cervical areas. This has produced a form of activity through the lungs as to produce an asthmatic condition.

7. The attempts and the administrations which have been made have tended to disturb the circulation in the manner indicated, and have brought on complications; that is, as of the disturbance in the sinus, soft tissue of face, which is a part of the condition.

8. These are conditions, then, that are as aggravations one to another.

9. Hence we may aid, though we may not cure conditions here.

10. We would have the administrations of Atomidine (which is atomic iodine), and we would leave off these others - only using a sedative, and use a hypnotic rather than a narcotic, under the direction of a physician, when it is necessary for rest.

11. The Atomidine we would take in this manner: Take three drops in half a glass of water before breakfast - each morning.

12. We would have osteopathic adjustments to alleviate, very gradually, the subluxations in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, and in the 2nd and 3rd cervical. We would stimulate this area first, before making the corrections, and make these very gradually; else we may bring on a very SEVERE attack of the asthmatic reactions through the bronchi and lungs.

13. Stimulate - by relaxing, not stimulate by corrections - also those areas in the lumbar and sacral; massaging the limbs toward the body with the combination of half an ounce of Oil of Pine Needles to six ounces of Nujol. Commence with these oils being massaged into the feet and toes, and gradually work toward the body, slowly, gently, letting the body absorb all of these oils that it will. This may be done at home each evening before retiring. Or it may be done with the osteopathic treatments if convenient.

14. Give strengthening foods as much as practical; a good deal of sea food, fowl - chicken that is well cooked, but the small bony pieces should also be eaten.

15. Do these, which as we find offer the better help for this body, [3046].

16. Ready for questions.

17. (Q) What should be done for the sinus headaches? (A) These should be materially aided by the massages, as the conditions are aided in the circulation, and the activity of the Atomidine upon the whole of the circulation should be an aid.

18. (Q) Would this also aid the asthma? (A) All of this as we have indicated is for the asthmatic reactions. These measures will help, they will not cure.

19. (Q) Should I take the Duocaps and garlic capsules? (A) These we do not find as beneficial, if these others are to be taken which we have indicated. The body itself may choose between these.

As we find, these as we have given will offer the better results, and bring periods of relief.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

This is the first chance I have had to write since receiving my report from you June 13th.

I had to stop taking “Atomidine,” as I found it very aggravating to my asthma. In fact the attacks were much worse after taking Atomidine.

You say in my reading about the poisons in my feet, what shall I do to get the poisons out of the system. Surely, just massages with oil on the surface will not eliminate the conditions where it exists on the inside. You also mentioned about the soft tissue of face but do not say what to do about it.

Do you take people in for treatments at Virginia Beach?

R2. 7/29/43 [3046]‘s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I have followed the instructions given in my reading by you June 10th and find my condition much worse - I did not take anything else while taking “Atomidine” so the aggravated condition is due to Atomidine which I stopped taking today. In fact I took nothing else but what you prescribed in my reading.

Before taking your treatments I would have an asthma attack which would last an hour during the night, then I was alright again. Now the attack last several hours and during the day I have a difficult time breathing - I am only writing to you to let you know how I am getting along with Atomidine, since you said in your last letter that I must be using something else.

Perhaps there is nothing anyone can do for me so I shall try to get along as best I can.

R3. 8/1/43 EC’s letter to [3046]:

Mrs. [3046] …, Mass.

Dear Mrs. [3046]

I have yours of the twenty-ninth. Have you seen the doctor about the corrections as suggested in your reading? After taking this just a period, there was certain corrections to be made, too, wasn’t there? You know I only desire to be of help and if you are not feeling a lot better real soon, I hope you will grant us the privilege of keeping an appointment for a check-up to see just what is the trouble.

R4. 8/31/43 [3046]‘s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Here it is going on three months since my reading June 10th, and I do not feel any better.

I did pin my anchor of hope on you to help me when I read “There is a River”. I did not expect a permanent cure but only some relief.

In your last letter you offered to give me a recheck to see what was wrong. I shall accept it and leave the time and date to suit your conscience.

Now I have a most difficult time breathing and a bad cough has developed. Please tell me what I should do?

R5. 9/17/43 [3046]‘s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

The appointment for a recheck on Oct. 23rd, from 3:30 to 4:30 will be alright with me.

Could there be a disturbance in the rectum or vagina which is causing the asthma? I only ask this question because I have had several people tell me about a doctor in Kansas City, who treats asthma from that part of the body.

Would enemas help relief [relieve] my conditions, or Vit. B. Complex? Would sweat or Turkish baths help?

Is there some food that I eat which aggravates my condition?

I will do and try anything you suggest.
