-
GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - as we find, conditions in some respects are better; in others not so good.
-
Administrations osteopathically have been rather detrimental than beneficial. These should be relaxing.
-
Give the manipulator another try, but unless there is a change to the following of these suggestions, then don’t go any more. For, you are wasting your time and money and being wasted by not following suggestions given.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Are the Wet Cell treatments given correctly? (A) Keep these a little bit more in contact, and disconnect from the Appliance when not in use. Polish them thoroughly, but keep them closer in contact and it will be much better. For these should supply those vibrations to overcome the catarrhal condition that is disturbing the sensory forces; provided, of course, there is the relaxing through the osteopathic manipulations in the upper dorsal area - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and through the areas in the 3rd cervical and the lumbar and sacral axis.
-
(Q) How many Vitamin B-1 tablets should I take each day and how long should I continue taking these? (A) One. We would take them throughout the period of the winter, and add A and D but only one each day - don’t overtake.
-
(Q) Why is the ear condition worse during the Periods? (A) This is because those corrections are needed in the lumbar and sacral axis that would relax the body, and not make the pressures on the sensory system - or the sympathetic system in the brush end of the cerebrospinal system.
-
(Q) Is the ear condition hereditary? (A) Not necessarily. This, as we have given, is much from the catarrhal condition.
-
(Q) Will pregnancy aggravate the ear condition? (A) Not if the body is taken care of properly in the first three to four months.
-
(Q) I have been told that a major operation on the ears might be helpful for a few years? Is this so? (A) DO NOT operate on the ears, if there will be given the correct manipulations - and especially through the areas behind the ear and in the throat. The following of the lymph circulation through that area is especially necessary. And this wouldn’t mean stimulating, but relaxing.
Do those things and we will find better conditions for this body, if properly administered.
- We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 10/29/43 Letter from [3074]: “I want to thank you for my check-reading given Oct. 18th. According to the reading I didn’t get any results because the osteopathic treatments were not given correctly. Therefore, I have changed osteopaths and am now going to a doctor who has agreed to give the correct treatments the check reading says I need
- that is Relaxing treatments. The Osteopath is Dr. B. H. Waskey - 3613 Callaway Ave. - Baltimore.
“Mr. Cayce I would like to know if I should take the series of treatments given in my first reading (June 30) such as relaxing osteopathic treatments and the wet cell appliance or do I just merely need the relaxing treatments? Please let me know.”
R2. 1/10/44 Letter from [3074]: “I have changed osteopath’s and am now taking treatments from Dr. Emil Smith.
“I will have completed my entire series of treatments in about three weeks, and would appreciate if you could give me a check-reading. Please let me know your earliest possible date for this reading.”
R3. 1/17/44 “Thanks for your letter of Jan. 13th. The date you set aside for my check reading is for Feb. 29th - 3:30 - 4:30. You have also made my sister’s (Miss [3081]) appointment for the same day and hour as mine. This is perhaps a mistake. I would appreciate if you could make my appointment for an earlier date if possible as I am not feeling at all well.
“I would also like to know if the Wet Cell Appliance has any effect on the body, such as affecting my sleep and also causing me to have nose bleeds.”
R4. 1/29/44 EC’s reply: “I have yours of the 17th. Yes, I wish we could make the appointment for your Check Reading much sooner than February 29, but that is the first possible period open. Both readings are set for that day - yours and Miss [3081]‘s.
“I don’t think it could be possible for the Wet-cell appliance to be causing nose bleeds; it ought to make you sleep. Please let me know if you wish to undertake this at this data [date?]. Let us have the questions if there are any others you want to have asked.
“Hoping that we may help…”
R5. 2/44 Questions from [3074]:
- Why do I still have the head noises and deafness? What can be done to give me some immediate relief and cure?
- Were the osteopathic treatments given correctly by Dr. Emil Smith? If not, explain fully how these should be given to get results.
- Why did I feel worse after osteopathic corrections were made. Are corrections necessary?
- Were the wet cell treatments given correctly?
- What was causing me to have nose bleeds while taking the course of wet cell treatments?
- When can I expect to notice an improvement in the hearing?
- Why am I unable to sleep at times?
- By what medical name is the ear condition known? Catarrah or otosclerosis of the bone?
- Would a Hearing Aid be helpful?
- Are there any other suggestions for improving the hearing?
- Would pregnancy be advisable at this time?
R6. 3/28/44 Letter from [3074]: “Sorry to hear about your recent illness but hope you are very much better now.
“The new date you set aside for my Check Reading and my sister’s (Miss [3081]), April 22nd - 10:30 - 11:30 EWT will be satisfactory. There will be no changes in our list of questions and each of us will be at this address at the hour set.
Miss [3081] Mrs. [3074]
If any change should occur we will let you know before the day of Reading.”
