This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of July, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self through husband - Mr. [2998] Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Tenn.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3107].

  3. Now as we find, there is rather the complication of disturbances preventing the better physical functionings through this body.

  4. These have to do with the activity of the digestive system, the effect upon the blood supply, and the organs especially of the lungs, heart and liver; with the effect produced in the muscular forces of the body.

  5. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [3107] we are speaking of:

  6. In the blood supply, - this tends towards anemia, owing to the lack of proper assimilation of the the foods in the body, and lack of the balance in the hydrochloric and lactic fluids in the system. This tends to form a kind of acidity, that leaves toxic forces through the body, producing pressures upon the nerve forces of a neurotic nature - or neuritic nature - which is indicated in the present time across the small of the back, under the shoulder blade, and in the neck; also the kind of heaviness, dullness, tiredness that exists in the lower limbs.

  7. This is at times an acid, it is at others the drosses rather than wholly an acid condition. Then torpidity, of course, exists in the liver, as does the lack of the body’s ability to breathe sufficiently deep enough at times to purify or oxidize the blood supply. This already being deficient causes this tickling or irritation which at times occurs in the trachea, and the fullness in the soft tissue of the throat and nasal passages.

  8. These, then, are conditions as we find to be met; and in making applications for this body, [3107], we would first begin with these:

  9. Every other day take a teaspoonful of ACIGEST in a glass of raw milk, preferably at the evening meal.

  10. Also once each day take CALCIOS spread on a whole wheat cracker, - just that amount that would spread on a cracker, whole wheat cracker. Take this preferably at the noon meal.

  11. Not so much of the activities that are necessary then in the thyroids and in the strengthening of the body for the assimilation of the foods required.

  12. Then, do not take foods that are too hard to digest. Fruits, cereals, fish, fowl, and such body building foods are preferable.

  13. After these properties are begun, we would once each week have a relaxing treatment osteopathically - as through the head and neck, or the cervicals and upper dorsals, then from the 9th dorsal to the sacrals. All of these should be given thorough attention, but only a relaxing treatment.

  14. Do keep good eliminations. Use rather the vegetables compounds than minerals for this body, and keep eliminations a little above normal. Be sure there is a full evacuation of the alimentary canal each day. Occasionally use the high enemas.

  15. Do these things and, as we find, we will bring better conditions for this body.

  16. For the purifying of the nasal passages, the throat and lungs, have prepared an inhalant to be used as an antiseptic. This will tend to keep down those tendencies for acidity. Put this solution in a wide mouth bottle, so that two vents could be made through the cork, but neither of these long enough to enter the solution. Use about an eight ounce container, with two glass vents through the cork. These small vents are to be kept corked also when not in use. Into the bottle put this solution.

  17. To 4 ounces of Grain Alcohol (not denatured, but Pure Grain Alcohol), add - in the order named:

Oil of Eucalyptus…20 drops, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 drops, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…15 drops, Tolu in Solution…30 drops.

When this is to be inhaled (and inhale it as least twice or three times each day, both into the throat - or lungs - and through the nasal passages, to clear those irritations there), remove the corks, shake the bottle first, however, and then inhale the fumes.

  1. Do these for this body.

  2. Ready for questions.

  3. (Q) What causes sore throat often and continuing for long periods? (A) As indicated, an irritation in the blood supply and the lymph as it flows through. The inhalant will aid in correcting this.

  4. (Q) Any suggestions regarding diet? (A) As indicated, these have been outlined in the main. Not white breads, not much sugars, but brown breads or whole wheat breads or the like. Fish, fowl and the like. Vegetables of the leafy variety mostly, except eat beets, carrots and yams often. Only the yellow variety of yams (sweet potatoes) would be used.

These we would do.

  1. We are through with this Reading.
