GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - as we find, the body here - there are the needs for all those applications that may be made; yet, as we find, if it will just be accepted, this condition is a part of the development of the entity.
-
For this is a prenatal condition, and there should not be self-condemnation on the part of the parents. Yet here is where those who study the betterment of the race should make the greater application for helpful environs for the birth of souls that would enter and the education and the conduct of the prospective parents; that it may be that preparation and attraction for souls in keeping with the lives and the experiences, the purposes and aims, of the individual so making the preparation.
-
Here we find the deeper circulation, or the walls of the arterial circulation, so disturbed as to cause leakage in the very pressure and the activity of the heart itself, in its adjustment to material manifestation. Thus the hemorrhage that caused the reflexes of the body to react in spasmodic contractions, that have caused the lack of the usage of the body in the reactions or reflexes for this body.
-
While there may be developments, and while there may be helpful influences, so that there may be the ability to use self, and parts of the locomotories may be helped, we find that this will require long, tedious, applications. For, the ability of the reflexes to produce coordination between the physical being and the mental being will be the greater problems to solve, as the body physically develops - if the physical does develop; as well as the ability of the mental body to remain in control constantly of the physical body.
-
Thus, from some, there might be the impressions that such should not be allowed to develop and become ever as a charge to others. Yet, these, too, are necessary in the experience of man as he approaches the applications of the tenets of creative energies, or truth in his experience. For, to the measure that an individual entity applies itself for helpful physical, mental or spiritual unfoldment, so does that body do to its Maker.
-
For this individual body, make these applications:
-
Along the base of the brain, at the edge of the medulla oblongata, extending even to the second and third cervical, apply daily for an hour the Glyco-Thymoline packs. Use three thicknesses of cotton cloth well saturated in the Glyco-Thymoline. Let these remain on for an hour.
-
Then, when removed massage with a combination of oils that are structural building to tissue, through the absorption to arise where there has been opening of the cellular forces in the applications made. Combine in this manner.
-
To 4 ounces of Russian White Oil (or Nujol or Usoline), add in the order named:
Oil of Sassafras Root…1/2 ounce, Oil of Cedar Root…1/2 ounce, Peanut Oil…1/2 ounce, Lanolin (liquefied)…1/4 ounce.
Shake this well together, for they will tend to separate, owing to the various properties; but shake together when ready to use and pour a small quantity into an open saucer. Massage this particularly in the area from the base of the brain, or first cervical to the third, fourth and fifth cervical.
-
After this has been kept up for about three months, then begin using the Wet-Cell Appliance that carries to the body the vibrations of Chloride of Gold Sodium, in the proportions of one grain to each ounce of Distilled Water.
-
Make the Appliance regular strength. Use this daily for about six months, changing the charging solution every thirty days and renewing the Gold Solution every fifteen days.
-
Make the attachments for thirty minutes each day as follows:
-
The larger plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially to the body, should be attached at the umbilical center or the lacteal duct plexus; that is, on this body, two fingers from the navel center to the right and one finger up from that point. The small copper plate would be attached at the ninth dorsal center, or from the area from which the plexus of the cerebrospinal and sympathetic aid in coordinating the controlling forces not only through the glands from above the kidneys, and the pineal and the adrenals, but the connections between the liver, the kidneys, the lungs, and the heart. On these connect in this solar plexus there.
-
Each day when the appliance is removed massage the body all over with the oils that have been used for the months before.
-
Keep a normal diet.
-
These offer the better opportunity for the body in its unfoldment, in its development, for maintaining and gaining control of the connections between cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous system; and for the reducing of those pressures. For it will take away those pressures made upon the brain by the hemorrhages caused in the arterial circulation, that came along the nerve centers to the brain reflexes.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any advice regarding diet? (A) Well - the age - this will have to be close to the normal diet for the age or the developing here of this body.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 8/30/43 Mother’s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received the Reading you had sent me for my child, “God bless you for it.”
I didn’t answer immediately because I was trying to get all of the oils that are needed, which I had a hard time on account of the government needing some of those oils for the soldiers and the drug store, could not get them. But after hunting everywhere I finally got all of them.
And so I have started the Glyco-Thymoline applications and massages as directed. And with “God’s help” will do so for three months.
And at the end of that time will send to Mr. Godfrey for the Wet Cell Appliance.
And I will pray and have faith in God that He gives me the courage and strength and that I may have the patience to do every thing that I should to give these treatments which I trust in God will help my child.
Sincerely, Mrs. […]
R2. 1/25/44 Mother’s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I had a Reading the 25th day of July, 1943 for my child [3140], in which I’ve learned that I’m to use the Wet-Cell appliance for her.
Well I finally got the material now. And am very anxious to go on with the treatments for her.
But here’s the question. I am in doubt about the exact spot where I should put the copper plate. It says to attach it at the ninth dorsal center, or from the area from which the plexus of the cerebrospinal and sympathetic aid in coordinating the controlling forces not only through the glands from above the kidneys, and the pineal and the adrenals, but the connections between the liver, the kidneys, the lungs and the heart. On these connect in the solar plexus there.
I understand that the solar plexus are situated in the back of the stomach. So I don’t know if the nickel and the copper plates would be both on the stomach or if the copper plate would be attached on the back of the body.
So could you please send me a diagram or something to point out the exact spot. For I want to be positive that I’m doing it exactly right.
My baby hasn’t been doing well this winter - she lost weight. She’s so much work and worry to me, on account of she’s so hard to handle because she doesn’t hold herself up. And I have two other children and that makes a lot of work for me to [be] doing myself, that I think I’m ready to break down myself. But I keep praying to God to help me. And he gives me the strength to go on.
And I’m willing to do every thing that I can for her. And will start the treatment as soon as I hear from you.
I’m awfully sorry to bother you again for I know your very busy, but I want to make sure.
I’m sending you just a little gift of One Dollar. And I’ll pray that some day I may be in a position to send this wonderful Association that gives a hand to a person in distress.
May God bless you and this Association for the wonderful work that you have been doing.
Yours sincerely, Mrs. […] [[3140]‘s mother]
R3. 2/16/44 GD’s letter to [3140]‘s mother:
Mrs. […] …, Penna.
Dear Mrs. […]:-
Your letter of January 25th has gone a roundabout way through the hundreds of request letters Mr. Cayce receives daily and has finally come to me for answer. I am sorry of this great delay.
Regarding the attachment plates of the Appliance, it will be necessary for you to get an osteopath to mark the 9th dorsal where the copper plate should be attached. It is on the back, and is the center radiating activities to the other areas mentioned. The place for the nickel plate attachment is in front, and I believe was described very thoroughly in the Reading. The osteopath could mark these places with iodine or something that would not wear off until you had become familiar with the places where the attachments should be made.
If you live near Philadelphia or Media, Penna., I’d suggest that you get one or the other of these osteopaths to do this for you, as they are all familiar with Mr. Cayce’s work; otherwise any good osteopath in your vicinity COULD do it:
Dr. Marion Dick, 5041 Spruce St., Philadelphia, Penna.; Dr. C. Haddon Soden, 12 So. 12th St., Philadelphia, Penna.; Dr. Elisha T. Kirk, 20 W. Baltimore Ave., Media, Penna.
Thank you very much for your contribution to our work and the expression of your desire to help us help others. I trust that you will be able to faithfully carry out the treatments suggested for your baby and in time find the help needed for her. I am sure that in so doing you will also gain mentally and spiritually; otherwise there would be little gained in the material sense.
Please let us hear from you from time to time as to how you progress with the treatments, and as to the response.
Sincerely, [signed] Gladys Davis, Secretary to Mr. Cayce
Background
Background
B1. 6/8/43 Letter from parents: “The 4th day after birth showed signs of not feeling very well. When we called the doctor’s attention to it he said being born with jaundice it was just causing that condition. But by evening of that day she was forcing-like to move her bowels, and later twisting her body backwards and pushing her hands backwards and twisting them. The doctor when called again said the poison from the jaundice went through her system. The child improved slowly after that. But not until about 6 to 8 months did we notice that she made no attempt to hold her head up, and always had a tendency for pushing her hand back when we tried to hold her up, and also her little arms. She weighs about 20 lbs., her teeth about normal. Since then another baby specialist has been consulted and said there might have been a slight hemorrhage of the brain, but said that it would take time and be very slow improvement, and said its a nerve that’s been affected but doesn’t know just what to do about it. He did prescribe some powders which seemed to have made a little improvement. So we are writing to you that you will be directed to this child’s case and be able to tell us what is wrong and what to do. With God’s blessing for your Divine guidance, we are” Sincerely, Mr. and Mrs. […]
