This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3184], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 4:05 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity [3184], born April 15, 1913, in New York City, who seeks a Check Life Reading to clarify and help to make practical application of the advice given in her Life Reading, August 28, 1943, especially concerning her work in aviation and how she can best get started with it. You will answer the questions she submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: We are ready for questions.

3. (Q) Will the British Air Transport Auxiliary accept me as a ferry pilot? (A) If the applications are made through the Canadian or directly through this command in England, though the entity to do either would have to renounce citizenship. But as has been indicated, this would be a step in the right direction if these were made through either of these, for the activities with the organizations that will have the greater charge of the Iberian Peninsula. For these are to be given to the British in the end, between there and certain portions of America.

4. (Q) How soon will I go? (A) How soon are you going to start?

5. (Q) Will I pass the physical examination, and other tests? (A) If there is the setting of self to pass this, it will be passed by the entity. Won’t be easy, but it may be done.

6. (Q) How is it intended that I prepare for the program of communications with Iberian Peninsula and Africa? (A) Just as indicated. This is the best way to prepare, to be sure to be in connection with, and then to be the representative of those very same channels. For, being then in the acquaintance and with the ability to make connections in both America and Spain, or those of that particular area, these will be the channels through which it is best to work.

7. (Q) Could I be accepted by going to England, and how can I get there? (A) As indicated either through the Canadian command or going to England.

8. (Q) Shall I always be able to provide for my Mother? or will she not need me? (A) When you are not able to provide, she will not need you - that’s sure!

9. (Q) What has been the relationship of my sister [Mrs. […]], to me in past incarnations? (A) These have been in associations through those periods where there has been the looking on and disagreements, and they still exist. You can work ‘em out if you start in to do so!

10. (Q) Any other advice? (A) Use this.

11. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/2/44 Mother’s ltr.: “I know you will be sorry to hear that my daughter [3184] has not been able to go to England to fly

• they will not give her a passport and there seems to be no opening in the flying field in this country either. So, unfortunately, she has sat around for six months doing nothing - so she is very unhappy, which is natural. I feel very sorry for her, but I think it is dreadful for her to be idle - any work is better than none, whether you like it or not, but I can’t make her see that. She had pinned her faith in her rdg. which said she would go to England to fly.”

R2. 3/14/56 Mother requested a copy of 3184-1 and 3184-2, saying that in ‘47 her daughter’s car was broken into, “her typewriter taken, also a box of papers and in that box was her readings. Recently after rereading THERE IS A RIVER for the fourth time, I have wanted so much to read the report in light of these succeeding years.”

R3. 5/8/56 Mother’s ltr.: “Yes, my daughter [3184] has made flying her life’s work. As yet she has not flown out of this country but still hopes to some day. She has never married - says she finds planes more interesting then men. I say she has not met the right man yet - ‘there speaks the mother!’ However, she seems quite happy and has an interesting life - is always studying and acquiring higher ratings. She now has her ‘Air Transport Rating’ - the same as the Trans-Atlantic pilots - but I am afraid she is the wrong sex. She was the first WOMAN Executive Pilot - now there are four others in the West - she flies for a corporation…she lives alone in an apt. and enjoys being alone.”

Dear Mr. Cayce:

As a fairly constant traveller, and therefore, a constant reader of paperback books, I have recently come across an epidemic of books about your Father, all of which I have bought and read with tremendous interest.

It has been some time since you have had any information on how my Life Reading of August 1943 has worked out - that is the reason I am using this letterhead!

As your Father so truly said - whether I will or no - I would make flying my life’s work. Indeed I have, and while there have been times when I starved at it (because of my sex), there have been other times, as now, when it has been good to me - and never, starving or not, have I regretted the decision.

With respect to the Iberian peninsula, except for a few stopovers in Lisbon or Madrid, enroute to somewhere else, I still have no connection with it, nor do I see yet how I ever will have.

Back in 1943, my greatest desire was to fly the ocean, and this desire never abated, even when I was enjoying other types of flying; the opportunity finally arose in 1962 - after false starts, I started my own company for the delivery of light airplanes to foreign countries in 1965 - to date have made 90 trips to Europe, South Africa and the Philippines, and love it as much now as I did the first time.

Reading my Life reading again, I am not sure just how much good I am doing in the world, but I do know that the vicissitudes of the last 10 years have given me a more philosophical outlook on life, and developed some much needed patience - and the feeling that I must do the best I can in a given situation and leave the rest to fate.

In 1958, I had a very bad detached retina on the right eye. Although the surgeon who operated is about the best, the excellent results were almost as surprising to him as to me. In 1963, another one developed of lesser degree, and again - good results.

At these times of complete terror (a pilot losing her sight!) and helplessness, I came to know how to be a friend - especially one on the receiving end, which is more difficult for me than being on the giving end.

Both the surgeon and my own eye doctor told me then that a cataract was almost a sure development after such surgery. It is happening right now, although not yet incapacitating, but -

Is it possible that your Father ever gave a reading which described a method of diminishing a cataract? Have been doing the neck exercises ever since I read of them in Jess Stearn’s book, a few weeks ago.

He also mentioned in “Edgar Cayce - Sleeping Prophet” a “Black Book” which many people seem to live by. Is it possible to buy this book?

My interest has also been aroused in anything you may have pertaining to Atlantis - and also to the “city in the hills” in both of which places I seem to have lived.

P.S. Mother is still alive, although suffering much with arthritis, and with very poor sight from cataracts - she is now 83, and lives in my sister’s house.

My sister has 4 grown children and two grandchildren.
