This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of August, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3187], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by his sister Mrs. […].

Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Va.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3187].

3. As we find, there are disturbances in this body - those hard to cope with. Yet, from the nature of same, we find that those things may be applied - internally and externally - that will aid in allaying, and in prolonging the useful activity of the body; not curatives, palliatives, but will prevent the suffering that comes also from mental and physical being.

4. These, of course, are from external influences and forces that exist in the growths, or those conditions taking holds on the body.

5. The rest of the general condition is good.

6. To the normal diet of the body we would add these:

7. Not too many fats, to be sure, though fish and fowl may be taken - but preferably not the fat portion of same.

8. Vegetables, especially BEETS and beet tops - eat these, but not with vinegar.

9. Yams, but not white potatoes.

10. Beans, as snap beans - but not butterbeans or those characters of pods.

11. Onions, leeks, and all such vegetables; but turnips, no.

12. Also each day we would drink at least two ounces of Plantain Tea, made in this manner:

13. Gather the fresh Plantain leaves, - not the heavy dried ones, but with the seed and the Plantain. Pour a pint of boiling water over half a pint of the Plantain cut up, and allow to stand for twenty to thirty minutes (in a teapot or crock container, covered). Strain, cool and drink - two ounces of this each day. This may be kept in the ice box for two days, but make fresh every other day.

14. Once each week we would apply the Ultra-Violet Light over the affected areas, - face and head and side, but do not use the Light too close - at least forty-two inches (42”) from the body - and this the Mercury Quartz Light, not the Carbon Light. Do not use this without the green light being used between the Ultra-Violet and the body. Use only three quarters of a minute to a minute, having the eyes protected, of course.

15. Just before the Light is used each time, take internally one-eighth grain of Animated Ash; this taken dry on tongue and swallowed with water.

16. We find that the diet and these applications will improve the general health and ALLAY conditions.

17. Be consistent, be persistent; and USE the time, - mentally, spiritually, - for CONSTRUCTIVE thinking.

18. Ready for questions.

19. (Q) What causes and what should be done to eliminate the severe sinus condition? (A) We have just given those things to eliminate disturbances. Most of this comes from a very poor lymph circulation, and this will be changed by the form of diet and the applications indicated.

20. (Q) How soon should I be able to return to work? (A) In less than thirty days.

21. (Q) Should the treatments I have been having be continued? (A) These are only irritating the body - why continue them!

(GD’s notes: The Ultra-Violet Mercury Quartz light may be rented from Powers & Anderson, Norfolk, Va., and used at home, or it may be possible to get the weekly treatment from Dr. Vincent Ober, Banker’s Trust Bldg., Norfolk. However, do not let him give this treatment unless he does it exactly as indicated, using the green glass between the Ultra-Violet and the body. Any green plate glass will do, - a piece about 10x12 inches. It may be ordered from American Plate & Window Glass Co., Prospect Ave., East Orange, N.J., $2.50 per sq. ft.

R1. 9/14/43 Report by sister over phone: “The green glass has just come and we’re going to have the first treatment - in Dr. Dormire’s office. My brother is ever so much better, just from using the tea and diet, etc…first time I haven’t had to get up with him in the night and wait on him…sleeps like a top, also eats better, and his general mental attitude is better. We know that after he starts using the Light and the Ash he will see even more change - so grateful to Mr. Cayce.”
