-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Tall building.
-
Yes, we have the body here, [3189].
-
Now as we find, conditions and the life expectancy in this body are very good. There are some disturbances yet - if precautions will be taken as we find might be indicated - there will be many years yet of a useful service.
-
These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [3189]:
-
In the blood supply at times there is a tendency for a quickening in the pulsation. This is due to general conditions that exist in the circulation of heart, liver, lungs and kidneys. There is not as yet any great disturbance in either; as to the organs themselves the functioning in this central circulation does vary at times.
-
But if those vital forces necessary are kept, either in the diet or in the supplement to the diet, as to replenish those energies of the body - as we find indicated in the B-Complex and niacin and iron - not overtaxing the body, but keeping these, the body should be kept in much better conditions.
-
Slowing of the circulation at times through the action of the alimentary canal also contributes to a strain that has been indicated in the shoulder, where there is pain at times of mornings, or just before a change in the weather, or when the barometer is falling. There is a touch of neuritis; not rheumatic but neuritic conditions. Hence we would keep precautions as to eliminations. These may be better controlled by the change in the diet and the general activities of the body.
-
When necessary use high colonics rather than any compounds that act as laxatives. But when taking an eliminant for this body do take the mineral salts. These would be preferable for this particular body, whichever kind the body chooses. Those partially alkalizing are the better, as: Eno, or Sal Hepatica. But, the Crazy Crystals would be well also, for the sulphur there would be well for this body.
-
When there is pain the massage of the shoulder area, with an application of a Glyco-Thymoline Pack - with heat - will relieve the distress; and this tends to make for better balance in the acidity of the system, which is a natural result from deterioration and slowed eliminations.
-
These as we find if done for this body, will bring the better conditions.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there any deterioration of the sense organs evident and if so what shall I do to fortify my body against these? (A) Only the sensory system, and these organs may be better aided by exercise and general massage as from a hydrotherapist. These will aid to keep the hearing, the taste, the sight, the touch, all in better accord.
-
(Q) Any other advice? (A) Keep those constructive, spiritual ideals - for the peace of self and for the assistance or the optimism for others.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 9/3/43 A.M. and P.M., he secured a Life Reading and a Mental Spiritual Reading. See 3189-2 and 3189-3.
R2. 9/11/44 A.R.E. mailing was returned marked DIED April 4, 1944.
R3. 5/65 Robert O. Clapp wrote A.R.E. Member Forrest Wilke in Beatrice, Nebraska asking if he could check out this reference to the “Tall Building” [re 3189-1, Par. 2] at 115 North 12th St., Lincoln, Nebraska. See Source File Key #3189 for photograph of the building, sent by Forrest Wilke who wrote, “115 North 12th Street (on corner), Lincoln, Nebraska referred to in Reading 3189-1 - view looking north - entrance on east side of building half way up to alley.” Verified by: Forrest Wilke, Box 457, Beatrice, Nebraska. [GD’s note: To my knowledge EC never was in Lincoln, Nebraska.]
R4. 6/11/65 Bob Clapp’s letter to Forrest Wilke:

Mr. Forrest Wilke Box 457 Beatrice, Nebraska
Dear Forrest:
We all got a kick - is that the right word? - out of your report and the picture. Excellent sleuthing. To make this case air-tight would you also verify, at your convenience, that the building was there at the time the reading was given (Sept. 2, 1943), that the numbering system was the same then as it is today, and anything else that you can about the surrounding bldgs. - especially if this information furthers the idea that this was a tall building in 1943?
Some people are VERY skeptical and eliminating every loophole is very important.
Thanks a million.
Sincerely, [signed] Bob Clapp
R5. Forrest Wilke’s reply:
Bob - I meant to include that in the first report. Yes, the building was there in 1943 just as it stands now - and there were no other buildings then on that side as tall as this one
- and it was numbered the same then as now “115 No. 12th.”
Regards, Forrest
R6. 8/25/76 Mr. Wilke wrote HLC:
“A number of years ago someone at Va. Beach was checking the readings to see if the places really existed that your father ‘visited’ during his Readings… I was asked to verify that there was a Barkley Building at 12th & O St. in Lincoln [Nebraska] where someone had requested a reading. I took a picture of the building and sent it back to you in Va. Beach.
“I had forgotten about the incident until I saw this in a recent issue of the Lincoln newspaper [see below]. Thought it might be of interest to someone who knew of the original project to identify these places.” Regards - Forrest

B1. 4/29/43 Mr. [3189] requested a Physical Rdg. for his wife, Mrs. [3105]. (He also referred Mr. [3168] and Mrs. [3169] for a Physical Reading.)
B2. 8/23/43 [3189]‘s letter:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Mrs. […] is following the regime outlined in her reading, for five days each week. [Copied into 3105-1 Reports.] She is beginning to realize some beneficial effects. I shall keep you informed from time to time of her experience.
Looking forward to my own readings of September 2nd and 3rd, I shall set out below the questions I have in mind concerning all three classes of inquiry: physical, life and mental and spiritual readings.
PHYSICAL:
- Is there any deterioration of the sense organs evident and if so what shall I do to fortify my body against these?
- Does the pain I experience in my right shoulder arise from a sprain?
- Does my general physical condition indicate that I may be active several years, or only a few?
LIFE:
- What would be a wise course for me to pursue in regard to my various business interests, in view of my life expectancy?
- In view of economic conditions would it be advisable for me to reduce my present standard of living?
MENTAL AND SPIRITUAL:
- What course would you advise for me for maximum mental and spiritual development?
- Do I have any direct guidance from invisible helpers?
At the hours indicated for my readings I shall be reclining on a couch in my office in the southeast corner of the second floor of the … Building at …, Nebraska.
Yours truly, [3189]
