This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of September, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3195], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3195].

3. As we find, conditions are and have been very serious with this body. However, - if there will be certain applications and activities for the body, - there may be brought a great deal of relief; not eliminating the conditions entirely but giving many months of comparative ease.

4. In the present the activities of the lymph circulation have been and are such as to cause excruciating pain in almost each segment of the spine, as well as many of the locomotories at times; due to the deposits of excesses of the assimilated forces used in the circulation.

5. Hence the segments in the spinal column where the circulation between sympathetic and cerebrospinal system has made deposits, where irritations are caused by the localizing of conditions in the areas governing the circulation through the portions of the throat and head, - or the upper dorsals. Those in the 6th and 7th dorsal upset the digestive forces, as in the duodenum and pyloric portion of the stomach itself.

6. Then, we would use these applications:

7. At least twice each week we would use the Ultra-Violet Ray with the green glass projected between this and the body. In the beginning use this only a minute and a half, not more. Gradually increase to three and a half or four, covering a period of six to seven weeks, and then it may be maintained at that.

8. After seven or eight of these treatments twice a week, they may be taken once a week - when improvements are shown.

But following each Light treatment we would have a thorough rub with this combination of oils, that may be absorbed by the body to aid in stimulating proper circulation as well as in making better conditions throughout the body; adding these in the order named; each ingredient being mixed thoroughly as it is added:

Nujol or Usoline (as the base)…4 ounces, Oil of Pine Needles…1 ounce, Olive Oil…1 ounce, Peanut Oil…1 ounce, Lanolin (melted or dissolved)…1 teaspoonful.

10. Use a small quantity each time to massage in the areas along each side of the spine, rather than so much over the spinal column itself, but close to the spinal segments. Take at least twenty to thirty minutes to give this massage, in a rotary motion. Begin in the area of the upper cervicals and go to the lower end of the spine, and especially in the lower portion of the cervical area and to the 6th, 7th and 8th dorsal.

11. As to the diet, - this should be wholesome but not too rich foods at any time; that is, not the fats of meats, - never very much of any confection or pastry or cake, but a good, wholesome, well balanced diet.

12. Have at least one meal each day consist principally of raw foods.

13. Then, the attitude of the body should be kept in that direction of using the abilities in optimistic and creative thought or activity.

17. (Q) What will help chronic constipation? (A) The addition of these oils to the body through the massage will gradually aid this. To be sure, in the beginning the enemas should be kept very often, to insure eliminations from alimentary canal. Use oil in the enema also, or something that will be helpful to the area covered in same; as an equal combination of salt and soda in the first solution (say a teaspoonful of each to half a gallon of water) and a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline as an intestinal antiseptic in the last quart of rinse water.

18. (Q) What causes and what should be done to correct violent headaches? (A) These are the pressures that are caused in the spinal system. These should be lessened after the second or third week, a great deal.

19. (Q) High blood pressure? (A) Pressures in the areas where, with the removal of organs, the central circulation has been disturbed. But the applications indicated should relieve this materiality.

20. (Q) Also pain in joints? (A) These as indicated.

Do as outlined, and we will bring some ease and comfort to the body.

But keep the attitude constructive.

(Use the Mercury Quartz Light, not the Carbon Light. Any green plate glass may do, a piece about 10x12 inches. If not able to secure it there, it may be ordered from The American Plate & Window Glass Co., Prospect Ave., East Orange, N.J., for $2.50 per sq. ft. The Light would be about 40” from the body, while the green glass would be about 14” above the spine, between the body and the ultra-violet. ATTENTION MR. CAYCE

Gentlemen:

Thank you so much for the diagnosis, which I received on September 10th.

It found me incapacitated with an acute attack of something in the small of my back and I was unable to do anything about the treatments for a few days.

I had quite a bit of difficulty in obtaining the oils, as most of the items are rationed here, but I finally succeeded in getting the formula filled yesterday and I had a treatment last night, from which I already feel better.

Dr. Ernest Horn is going to take care of me and he wanted me to find out about a few things, as he is most anxious to cooperate. First, he has a cold quartz ultra-violet ray light, which can be extended only 26” from the body. He says this is equivalent to a hot quartz 40” from the body. He also says the green glass completely filters out the violet ray, as he tested to find out. So he would like to know what good the light does in this neutralized condition, or if it gives a colored ray with which he is not familiar. Also, would it be permissible to use the ray without the green glass.

Thank your for yours of the 24th. I do not know whether the quartz ultra violet rays give the same rays as the mercury ray or not. The information calls for mercury light. I understand there are quite a number of doctors who hold that the use of the green glass between the mercury light and the body takes out violet ray, but the information has suggested this many, many times, and wherever it has been suggested, it has given results to the people using it. Now you can take the word of the information or Dr. Horn - that is up to you.

If he would like to have verification of this, write Dr. Marion Dick, at the Osteopathic Hospital, Philadelphia, Penna. I am not acquainted with her personally, but know her through correspondence.

The spine between the shoulders seems to have enlarged vertebrae and just below the waistline there is a great deal of pain - feels like, at times, the joints are being pulled apart. Then there is a cartilaginous growth forming on the finger joints and the joints in the balls of the feet. Elimination has been impossible without medicine for 35 yrs. Frequent violent headaches. An operation for tumor 6 yrs ago in which the uterus and appendix were removed have caused a condition like high blood pressure which is most unpleasant. Most of the time I can put these bodily ills in the background but at others they are so acute that I have to obtain medical assistance. Physicians have not helped me, only temporarily, as they do not seem to comprehend what is my trouble.”
