[3245], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Born October 18, 1921, in Madison, Wisconsin. Time of Reading APO, San Francisco, 3:50 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern War Time. Honolulu, Hawaii. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: (In going back over the years from present - ” - ‘42 - changes in environs for the entity - ‘37 - ” - etc., on back to birth date.)

2. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3245]. A very unusual entity - and an Atlantean; thus in the experience he will be a real success (an unusual success, if choosing the right), an awful failure if choosing the wrong.

3. In giving interpretation of the records here, these we give to be a helpful experience; enabling the entity to fulfill purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.

4. Thus let the entity do the first things first. Know that the very ideal of being a manifestation in such a propitious time necessitates the considering of the purposes and ideals for self. These must be founded in spirit and in truth if the entity would fulfill the purposes for which it entered.

5. Whatever may be the choice of the entity’s activities, ever be in that position of defense of the right; never in that position of being active in destructive natures but constructive. Even with those commissions that may be a part of the experience, where there is to be destruction, let it be only for a just cause and for the bringing about of Creative Forces in the influences of those that even may be destroyed by that impelled to do - as will be seen why:

6. Those things having to do with mechanics, aeronautics especially, should be of interest to the entity. In and through such the entity may find the outlet for the greater abilities, the greater expression of the entity in this present experience. But as given, let this be in the constructive end not the destructive end - in the creating of such rather than the destruction of such.

7. The applications of self will come under the directions as may be seen from the astrological standpoint of Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. Changes will be indicated through Saturn, through Mercury the high mental abilities of the entity, through Jupiter the whole purpose of benevolence - always for the fellow that’s in the minority, even if the minority is wrong. Watch this, being sure that there is not too enthusiastic reception of any idea without considering its necessity of being ideal; not idealistic, but ideal - or a pattern, and a pattern which ye may not only live by but die by and for.

8. These should be the principles then of the entity. Be sure you are right in all of those activities, but especially pertaining to influences that are creative in their nature. Anything in the mechanical line as indicated from Mercury as well as from Venus and Mars, gives the outlets for the entity’s experiences.

9. Come closer to these. First analyzing self, knowing self’s ideal, choose that which is founded in a spiritual as well as a mental basis. Know in Whom ye believe as well as in what ye believe, and ever be ready to give an answer for the faith that prompts thy beliefs and thy activities - and ye will never be far wrong.

10. Know that ye are going through a period of testing. Remain true to all that has been committed to thee, and know that each day is an opportunity, and an experience. Speak a word for thy ideal. Not as to force an issue but ever constructive. Sow the seed of truth, the seed of the spirit. God will give the increase.

11. As to the appearances in the earth, these have been few and far between. This accounts for the sereneness of the entity even under great stress. Hold fast to they faith in thyself, in thy God, in thy brother. And who is thy brother? Who is thy father, thy mother? They that do the will of the Father, the same are thy mother, thy brother, thy sister. These keep in thine own heart, and be true to the fath that has prompted them.

12. Before this the entity was active during that period of the second Crusade. The overzealousness of the entity brought a fiery temper, and this is found in the present at times. Hold fast, for in patience ye become aware of your soul.

13. In that experience the ways and means of activity, the ways and means for approach in the activities of the groups that were pitted for a purpose, a cause, - being overzealous, - brought destructive forces.

14. Thus the warning should be, be SURE you are right. Then be willing, even as then, to die for same. But be willing to live for same as give thy life.

15. Through that experience the entity was ever a leader, ever one to guide, to plan.

16. Thus in the present experience there may be not only the abilities in planning but in applying various activities pertaining to any character of machinery. This would be a work for the entity, in which it might excel or succeed. But let it ever be constructive, not destructive.

17. The entity then was known as Chawneuelenger.

18. Before that the entity was in the “city in the hills” when there were the establishings there of a means of a wayside station as it were, or a regular route for the merchants of the east and west.

19. There the entity was among those leaders in the Mongoloid land that established the records for the people of that particular period and activity. With the uniting of the efforts of the entity with those in the “city of the hills and the plains” there came a greater understanding between the various groups, as to how the activities in one portion might be used for the benefit and preservation of lives even in other portions.

20. The betterment of individual development, then, was the activity of the entity;not only in the means of exchanges through the various centers but - with the visit to the “city in the hills” - the entity carried back to the Mongoloid land much of those tenets and teachings that have become a part of the activities even unto this day - the worship as it were, of the ancestry of individuals because of the deeds that were to be carried on in the lives of those that would become their successors in the home, in the state, in the community.

21. The entity then was known as Taiowan. The entity gained. In the present there may be the application of those continuous influences for the constituting of better ways and means for many of those things that have been commonplace in thine own life, and yet with minor changes might be made to be of great benefit to the many.

22. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, following the breaking up of the peoples in Atlantis.

23. For the entity was the second of those in command sent to Egypt, among the first that aided in the keeping of records. Thus it might be said that the communications with the leaders then, both Ajax as well as other groups or individuals that were even of the opposite sex, were a part of the entity’s activities; in building homes, establishing schools. These as a part of the experience would work well together. For the ideals were set by the entity in that experience, yet the harshness expressed in some of those experiences there still lingers with the entity. Purify same then in patience, in brotherly love, in kindness. Against such there is no law. In such there is peace and happiness and joy, to those that manifest same in their relationships to friend and foe alike. Be an emissary again for the truths of a one God, that thy days may be long in the earth and that thy seed and that they brethren may call thee blessed.

25. (Q) What is the reason for my present state of affairs? (A) That ye may study thyself in the light of those things indicated as necessary to be clarified in thine own experience.

26. (Q) Explain the reason for the emotional block in my personality? (A) There’s not an emotional block. There is that as indicated, that unless things are in keeping with the ideas of the entity, then the emotions arise. Learn patience within self, if there would be the accomplishing of that better within. Never in the destructive end, for these would bring a slipping away, a turning about. And remember Lot’s wife.

27. (Q) Is it possible through this approach to tell me how I may overcoming the stammering, or is it purely physical? (A) The body can deal with any situation effectively if it trusts in the ideal manner. Not in self, no - never; but in Him, who is the way and the truth and the light.

R1. 1/44/, 3/44 Orders for A.R.E. publications appear in the files. No doubt he wrote acknowledging the rdg. but either the letter did not arrive or else got lost in the great mass of correspondence Edgar Cayce was receiving about that time - having to do with first inquires, etc.

R2. 11/10/44 He wrote: “After spending four yrs. overseas I have at last returned home.” [He requested a mental-spiritual rdg., knowing now he could give a definite place where he would be at hour appointed. Form letter was sent telling of EC’s illness and returning his $20. After EC’s death, [3245] and his friend [3198] visited A.R.E.]

R3. 3/5/46 He wrote from N.Y.: “If circumstances continue to favor me as they seem to be doing, I shall be attending an aeronautical academy next Sept. The course is in design and construction, which is a composite of mechanics and planning, those abilities indicated by Mr. Cayce… [in the meantime] I shall attempt to get some sort of an apprenticeship job in an aircraft plant.”

R4. 8/18/46 His wife wrote for him, ordering publications, etc.

R5. 7/10/53 Wife wrote of birth of their second daughter.

R7. 11/12/62 GD’s note: He and his wife have remained active members of A.R.E. all these years.

1. What jobs have you held since your reading? (In chronological order) Truck driver, draftsman, aerospace engineer.

2. Have you ever spoken with Edgar Cayce? (Yes) (No) How well, if so, did you know him? No.

3. Do you feel that Edgar Cayce’s source of information depicted you accurately? Yes.

4. At the time of the reading, did you have confidence in his counseling? (Yes) (No) Inclined toward having confidence with certain reservations.

5. Do you feel that the reading helped you? How? Yes. Steered me toward career in aerospace.

6. As you look back, do you see patterns that were shown in the readings that you didn’t see before? Please explain. Yes. Personality traits.

PART TWO - Number [3245]

1. Were you interested in aeronautics (mechanics) before the reading? (Yes) (No) To a degree. I made model airplanes in high school but never considered a career in it.

2. I am “always for the fellow in the minority? (True) (False) Historically speaking, the majority is always wrong. I tend to sympathize with the individual against the establishment.

3. I am “serene, even under great stress.” (Agree, strongly agree, uncertain, disagree, strongly disagree) I strongly agree because during W.W. II I found myself strangely calm when death was imminent.

4. Did you overcome stammering by yourself? (Yes) (No) I have not overcome it.

R9. 7/27/72 GD’s note: Mr. [3245] and his wife visited A.R.E. and I had lunch with them. I did not remember his reading and it wasn’t until I went to make this further notation to his file that I became aware of item 4 above regarding his stammering. In conversation with him (and he talked quite a bit) I was certainly not aware that he had a stammering problem. No one could have recognized any such.

In addition to his successful career in aerospace Mr. [3245] is quite an artist at designing and making jewelry, as a hobby. His wife showed me some beautiful pieces she was wearing and, later before leaving Virginia Beach, they gave me a lovely piece which I like very much (and I have never been a great one for jewelry).

They are planning on eventually retiring to Arizona. They are very proud of their two daughters who are well adjusted and established in their life work.

B1. 5/29/43 [3245] wrote: “I finished the book THERE IS A RIVER this a.m. I shall begin at the beginning: After being in the army over a yr., life to me became a futility, all desire to live for material ends was lost. I became a robot, an automaton. A friend suggested a book on yoga, quite unaware of my condition. This was the beginning of my study of spiritual science. Since that time, which has been almost a yr., I have progressed, but only intellectually, and if there is to be any other expression except that, it is my belief that certain physical and mental handicaps must be overcome. There is an emotional block in my personality - something that makes me feel incapable of dealing with any situation effectively. I stammer - except under particular circumstances when my ego seems to establish itself. This rarely happens. I have tried many times to introspect, to find the real cause, to deal with emotion through intellect, and have failed. This book did come when I had given up practically all hope.
