This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of September, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3246], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3246].

3. As we find, there are conditions of which the body should be warned. And corrections made in the present would prevent a great deal of disturbance later on. These would also relieve those tendencies for periods of distress as related to the sensory organisms.

4. For, a part of the experience of the body, and of the physical distress, arises through the emotional body. Hence those organs causing the greater distress are through the vocal organs or throat and voice box, the eyes and ears, and the general expressions of the body.

5. While there are pathological conditions, the psychological effect - or the psychic forces of the body - first things must be done first. There are in the body, as is indicated, a body, a mind, a soul - or the physical body, the mind body, the soul body. Physical manifestations are the result of the activity of the mind and the soul upon relationships that exist between individuals’ conditions or circumstance. Choices individuals make in the relationships bring good or bad. Or as given, there is each day set before thee life and death, good and evil - choose thou. The constant thinking, the constant thought of hate, malice, jealousy, brings physical conditions as a result in the physical body as it does in a state or a nation. It is such results that produce warring conditions of nations, disputations in state, physical disturbances in a body.

6. These are a part of the conditions here - animosities, dislikes, jealousies, hates. The expression is first through the sensory organism.

7. Change the body thoughts - we will change the effect upon those activities in the throat, in the eyes, in the ears, and the body forces.

8. Pathologically these are in a state of congestion, just as might be given as a result of being submerged, of thinking of self being abused, of thinking of trying to get even. Remember the law - and the law of the Lord is perfect, in body, in mind, in spirit. And as laws of the physical, of the mental, of the spiritual are kept in unison of purpose, a more perfect balance is kept in the body.

9. Then for this body, [3246] in the present:

10. Do have at least three to six gentle osteopathic adjustments of the body. These we would have twice a week.

11. Each evening of the day following the osteopathic treatments use a Violet Ray massage to physically recharge, as it were, the body centers; especially along the area from the 9th dorsal to the head and neck, the facial muscles, around the temple and the like. Take about three minutes to give this treatment. This would be twice each week you see on the evenings after the osteopathic treatment. Use the bulb applicator.

12. Change first, of course, the attitudes. Let that mind be in thee as was in Him. “Thy will, oh God be done in and through me. May I ever be a channel of blessing to someone today.” And we will find the physical, the mental and the spiritual outlook of this body will be bettered, and we will prevent a great deal of disturbance later on.

13. Do that.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) Can anything be done to rebuild my right hand thumb? (A) Use that thou hast in same to the glory of God and to the honor of self. It will build in the mental and in the spiritual; not materially - but it will find a greater use.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I acknowledge with thanks the receipt of the psychic reading of Sept. 28th and have followed the instructions therein. I have just finished 6 treatments by the osteopath Dr. G. N. Coulter, 18E 41 St. I have also followed the instructions in the use of a Violet Ray hand machine, which I got from a Drug Store in 42nd St.

I felt very stimulated after the treatments and my voice has not been bothering me since I started with the treatments. My eyesight, however, has not improved; I suppose nothing can be done in that matter. Will it be advisable to continue with the osteopathic treatments from time to time, or shall I stop the treatments?

As regard to the Life Reading [3246-1] I found the statements therein of great interest. I understand, that it is most advisable for me to get into some activity pertaining to children or young people. I hope I shall be able to make the right connections pertaining to said kind of work. Is it possible to receive any further information reg. the period in Egypt, where I was associated with my son? I understand, that from that period on, I did not progress, rather went the opposite way and perhaps will have an opportunity to make amends by turning the rest of my present sojourn into a more sacrificial and useful life. Can any further suggestion be given in regards to this office?

I wish to thank the Association for the interesting Bulletins, I am receiving. I am also looking forward to hear Mr. Cayce speak on Nov. 9th in Steinway Hall.

R2. 2/26/52 Reply to questionnaire - letter: “When I got my physical reading in 1943, I followed Mr. Cayce’s advice and had six osteopathic treatments as outlined, followed up the next day with the violet ray vibrator (bulb). The treatments gave me great relief from nervous tension and I still follow this treatment from time to time, when I feel it to be necessary. As for the the mental attitude; I have tried to correct this as much as possible. I never suffer from loss of voice since I took the first treatments. I did not consult a physician previous to the treatments. I never had too much faith in physicians. The readings and other literature of similar nature made me understand the reason behind life’s hardships and trials, which had seemed to be unjust and unfair before. I used to worry a great deal and often felt antagonized. The readings gave me a different outlook and I have better been able to meet my karma without rebellion and hate. Somehow I still think Mr. Cayce helps me when I am in distress. About 3 months ago I got quite severely burned on face, neck arms and hands by an explosion from the gas stove. I used tanic acid ointment, which I had on hand, and that gave cooling relief. However, I was in great pain from the flesh being raw. In the night, when I was half in a coma, someone seemed to impress on my mind that I should drink plenty of gelatine, which I immediately did in the morning, using the melted Knox Gelatine with a little lemon and orange juice for flavor. My skin healed up so remarkably quick, without leaving a scar that both the doctor and everyone else were amazed and I had never heard nor read about using gelatine for that purpose.

Dear Gladys:

Thank you so much for your prompt respond to my letter.

I am returning the abstracts [goitre [2790] - key #] and have made notes. (Too much nervous tension over the years, I believe.)

In the meantime I contacted Dr. Frank Dobbins and had a treatment from him; he felt sure that surgery was unnecessary on my thyroid gland; and I feel much better since my Doctor gave me Iodine medicine, so I am postponing my operation and will wait and see.

I am indeed thankful for your suggestion to see Dr. Dobbins, as he was very positive, that my case was not a serious one. I will have him treat me from time to time.
