This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of September, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self, through Study Group #2 of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via niece, Miss [307].

1. EC: Yes. Not so good are the conditions as we find with this body. We would use more of the vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance, supplemented with the plain violet ray, adhering more to the diet and the applications along the cerebrospinal system - especially in those centers in the upper dorsal and cervical - that have been indicated in such conditions.

3. (Q) What is cause and cure for my burning eyes? (A) The applications of the violet ray, in the order as indicated.

4. (Q) What shall I do to remove pains in my shoulder and joints? (A) Increase the eliminations, making applications occasionally - when the body rests in the afternoon, preferably once or twice a day - of the saturated solution of Epsom Salts in packs over the affected areas.

5. (Q) Should I continue to take Castoria as a laxative or change to something else? (A) Well that this be alternated to a round like this, taking it for a period, then resting a week, then change again: One day take a tablespoonful of Milk of Magnesia. The next day take a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth, with six drops of Lactated Pepsin in same - in a whole glass of water. The next day take an Alophen pill. Then rest for a period of two days. Then take a bottle and a half of the Castoria, in minute doses. Then after a week’s rest begin all over again, see?

6. (Q) Please give me something that will ease my back. (A) This is a very good specific: To 1 ounce of Olive Oil, add:

Russian White Oil …2 ounces, Witchhazel…1/2 ounce, Tincture of Benzoin…1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras…20 minims, Coal Oil…6 ounces.

It’ll be necessary to shake this together, for it will tend to separate; but a small quantity massaged in the cerebro- spinal system or over sprains, joints, swellings, bruises, will TAKE OUT the inflammation or pain! [GD’s note: Same rub was suggested in 243-18 which followed 326-5.]

7. (Q) Any advice regarding diet? (A) As the assimilations grow weaker, with the natural changes incident to the wearing apart in the body, as it were, more and more should the body turn to the alkalin diet. Acids, to be sure, are necessary - and should be a portion of the diet; but as the age comes, usually more acid comes also. What a shame!
