This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3272], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Born October 2, 1881, in Sharpsburg, Pittsburgh, Penna. Time of Reading Set bet. 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Taken 11:20 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Indiana.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3272].

3. In interpreting the records as we find here, it is well to consider the experiences of the entity in the realm of the mental and spiritual forces, as may be indicated, or the sojourns in the earth, not as passing judgments. For, judgment is of the Lord, and not the condemning of any of those experiences, or the manner in which the entity has applied or used its opportunities in the present or in the past.

4. That the entity comes seeking indicates that it is of the house of Israel; and - seeking - there may indeed come that answer which will enable the entity to use this present experience as a steppingstone for the unfoldment of a greater experience and walk with the consciousness of the spiritual life.

5. For these are they that prevent individuals from growing lonely or over-wise. For, those that would seek knowledge and understanding seek same early and when they are old they will not depart from that consciousness.

6. As to the activities of the entity without respect to body, we find Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and those changes that have come and that are a part of the experience of this entity. The entity uses its intuitive forces that it may interpret and comprehend those influences or activities as may be indicated for the entity here.

7. Mercury and Jupiter bring excellent convictions, and these are weighed well in the body-mind. Parallel them also in the spiritual aptitudes and abilities of the entity. Thus those influences may be brought that will bring to the awareness of the entity the consciousness that the teacher of old is not wrong; think not who will descend from heaven nor who may come from over the sea; for, Lo, He is ever in thine own heart and consciousness.

8. Thus, let thy light so shine that others, seeing same, may take hope. For, as may be indicated from the united effort of the body, mind and soul in preparing itself, His glory will fill thine own consciousness - if you give the credit where the credit is due.

9. As to the activities in the earth’s plane we find:

10. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, among those reopening the central portion of the northwest, the land that had meant and does mean much to the entity.

11. Thus we will find that many portions of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio are ever as a living example for the entity.

12. Then the entity builded homes, trusting in the intuitive forces that were created in the body-mind seeking expression in that period of activity.

13. These bring into the present experience the intuitive forces of the entity, and those abilities to sit still and meditate.

14. Know indeed that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and the activities that go to make up same are contributing to His Creative Force, to work with and not against God in His messages to His people.

15. The name then was Ethel White.

16. Before that the entity was in the Arabian and Persian land, or the “city in the hills and the plains”.

17. There the entity was among those who heard of and came to visit the activities in the “city in the hills and the plains”.

18. For the entity was a princess in the land of On, and brought with it as its contribution - much of the welfare of that land; though the entity was induced to return much of it.

19. Hence the entity never in the present feels quite full; that is, in its Christian ministrations. To be sure, there are sufficient activities, but these do prey upon the entity’s mental self in this particular experience.

20. Stay close together, then, with thy companion - if you would know the full benefits of those activities - those that would be helpful to thee in attaining, in gaining the intuitive forces sought in this experience. (This companion referring to a friend, not a husband.)

21. In that experience some questionings were brought, in others’ activities.

22. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were the preparations of individual groups for the propagation of those that would bring a new race.

23. The entity passed through the service or activities in the Temple of Sacrifice. The entity became a companion to one that had also been purified, and thus brought to those peoples in that day the one that eventually became the leader following the demise of Ra.

24. In the experience the entity looked for and attained to leadership.

25. So may the entity in the present in the ministering as in music. For the entity may attain or attune self to the infinite more in music than in any other form or manner of activity.

26. Let that then as may build in thee be kept inviolate. Trust in God. Do the right. Bring into experience those activities ye may attain through intuition.

27. Ready for questions.

28. (Q) Give suggestions as to how I may use my time here to advance in spiritual living or spiritual development and thus require less reincarnations. (A) As indicated make thy paths straight. Live that ye ask others to be. Do the things thou knowest to do; seeking to know His way with thee. Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto thee. For, as ye will analyze the 30th of Deuteronomy, the 14th 15th, 16th and 17th of John, Lo it is within thine own self. Keep it inviolate.

Gentlemen:-

Since my reading, by Edgar Cayce, states I came from Arabian Persian Land, or “city of the hills and the plains,” please send me the booklet on “Arabian History”, for which I enclose $1.00.

Also in this reading I am admonished to “Stay close together then, with thy companion - to know the full benefits of those activities that would be helpful in this experience (this companion referring to a friend, not a husband). In that experience some questions were brought, in other’s activities.”

Would it be possible for you to advise me as to who is the companion with whom I should stay, and what were the questions as to others activities?

This reading means so much to me, as I have long been striving for the true way of life through the development of the spiritual qualities, as the material world is the temporary. I shall appreciate very much any assistance that can be given.

Dear Miss [3272]:

I have yours of the 29th and note what you have to say about your Life reading and the suggestions made.

The only way possible, I think, Miss [3272] for us to get this information for you would be to have a reading on that period of your activity as referred to as to staying close to the companion of that time. That is, a full reading on that experience in whatever period you were with this individual that you seek questions about. I don’t know whether it was in the Arabian experience, or not, but I am sure you will know by referring to the reading.

As you doubtless know, we are many, many months in advance with appointments, but we will be able to get it in if you wish during the next year if the Lord is willing.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Thank you for your letter of July 5th. The question asked in my previous letter was as to the companion with whom I should stay for full benefits of activities in gaining intuitive forces sought in THIS experience, which I understood to mean the present time. As previous to that time I had been in the Egyptian land and “became a companion to one, also purified, and brought to those people one that eventually became their leader following the demise of Ra.”

Yes, I would like to have a further reading on that portion of the reading which refers to the companion; and you may please let me know cost and when.

Also now it is more urgent that I have a physical reading diagnosis as soon as possible, as I have recently been having physical difficulties - heart palpitation attacks and tightness in my head, because of which I have had to go home from business and rest for several days. I have had a diagnosis from a physician who states I do not have high blood pressure and it does not seem to be the heart; but whenever I am tired or over-do, this rapid heart beat and dizziness occur. I have faith in your diagnosis and would follow instructions. I trust you can arrange to give me a physical reading very soon as it seems rather urgent. Kindly advise.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

Thank you for your letter of May 18th, and I have read with much interest the book - “A Search for God.” The contents of this book are not new to me, as I have for many years been a student of metaphysics - first in Christian Science, and then in Self Realization, Truth and Yoga, and am familiar with meditation. From this source, the only source, the “I Am” of the universe, has come my life and strength, and I have not consulted a physician for many years - over thirty years. “Live in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the Flesh.”

I shall appreciate having the reading on September 15th, if you can not grant it earlier, and I desire a Life reading. I have recently sent in the required $20 for a membership in the Association for Research and Enlightenment, as this work is much needed in the world, as most people are still in the wilderness of materiality.

Please confirm my request for Life reading.
