This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 12th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - [3276], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Dr. George Starr White of Los Angeles, Calif., through the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Florida.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3276].

3. As we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functionings of this body. We find that these have to do with the eliminations of the body and the effect that these pressures produced by same have on the impoverishment of the nerve supply to the sensory system.

4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [3276] we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. The blood supply indicates toxic conditions, or poisons of certain characters that are left in the system by the inactivity of certain glandular forces as related to the liver, the pancreas, and the spleen especially.

6. These leave, then, those characters of refuse forces in the circulation that in the cerebrospinal system produce pressures that impoverish the patches of lymph in their supply of coordinations with the central nerve and blood supply to ears, eyes and nasal passages.

7. Hence these give off their effect in the body. Thus we find disturbances in the circulation to the antrum, even to those areas about the ear, and through that special area of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal to the optic forces.

8. Thus, these are the sources of the disturbance in the circulation, in the elimination, in the nerve forces of the body.

9. In the nerves that supply or apply to these, we find - as indicated, there are those tensions in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal. Also there are sympathetic lesions in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical. There ARE reflexes also from the liver and the kidney activity in the 6th and 8th dorsal.

10. These are the sources, and the conditions then to be met.

11. In making helpful applications for this body, [3276] we are speaking of:

12. First, in making corrective forces, we would begin with a very systematic series of hydrotherapy treatments. These would cause, through the character of treatments, the setting up of drainages, the making for coordination between the liver and the kidney circulation.

13. The sources of the poisons would be removed, and the pressures corrected in the cerebrospinal system where it coordinates with the organs of the sensory system, and thus bring bettered conditions for this body; not only retarding these tendencies for prolapsus and for the impoverishment but gradually building back to a better condition in the body.

14. These hydrotherapy treatments, given weekly, should include a Fume Bath - not Dry Heat but a Fume Bath using Atomidine (or iodine, but preferably Atomidine), - a teaspoonful in a pint of water that would be kept heated so as to leave the radiation of these Fumes over the whole body.

15. Following the Fume Bath the body should be cleansed first with the needle shower, hot and then cold water, followed by a thorough rubdown - not making corrections the first time - using an equal combination of Pine Oil (not Pine Needle Oil here, but Pine Oil), Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. Especially in the first treatment, treat the area over the liver and the spleen, or near the diaphragm area; massaging all the oils that the body will absorb.

16. Within the week - but not until after the first hydrotherapy treatment has been given as suggested - have a high colonic irrigation. This should be taken very slow and easy; and THIS should be followed by the Fume Bath and the rubs as indicated; THIS time making the first correction in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal.

17. The NEXT week, following the Fume Bath and the correction, correct also the 6th dorsal and through the lumbar area; coordinating the cervicals with same.

18. About the fifth treatment, begin also with the low electrical treatment that stimulates the body-forces (in the massage), especially in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal, 9th dorsal, and through the sacral areas; THEN the cervicals and about the head, treating with the hands and the electricity going through same, - the antrum, the face and head [See 3276-1, Par. R5].

19. With these then continued for at least another six to eight weeks, we will find improvements in these conditions of this body.

20. Ready for questions.

21. (Q) Will this save the eyesight? (A) It should.

22. (Q) What may be done to overcome condition of arthritis? (A) We have just been giving what is to be done, to overcome these conditions - that are a part of the pressures produced by the toxic forces.

It may be necessary to give the second or third colonic, but this will be determined according to the amount of mucus that has been removed from the colon, and as to whether the stimulation by the treatments across the diaphragm has stirred the liver and kidneys to their proper activity.

This should also, with the electrical treatments, stimulate the activity of the spleen AND pancreas.

23. (Q) What advice about diet? (A) A very plain diet; that is, not too much of any pastries or things of that nature, but plenty of fruits, and especially carrots, celery, lettuce, water cress and the like; and beets, but not with vinegar on these.

24. (Q) What is condition of liver, and what has caused the dizziness? (A) As just described, you see, as to the toxic conditions and the incoordination between the liver circulation and the kidney circulation.

25. (Q) Will this treatment correct the sagging colon and the constipation? (A) This should aid in correcting these.

Do these, and we will make for better conditions for this body.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

It was certainly a great privilege and pleasure to meet you and I am sure that through your efforts, in time I will be completely cured…as I certainly am going to follow your instructions to the letter.

After your reading I went directly to New York and secured a sample of all the treatments you outlined from Dr. Riley [Reilly]. This way I will be sure of getting the proper treatments here as I now know how they should be done.

There are a few questions that are extremely important to me which I did not have an opportunity to ask during the reading. I will deeply appreciate it if you will be kind enough to answer them at your very earliest convenience. These questions will help me get started right and I will be sure I am not eating the wrong things etc. which might be retarding my progress.

Every Naturopath I have been to tells me I must not eat meat of any kind, fowl or fish. I am not to eat cheese of any kind except cottage cheese… I am not to eat eggs at all, say some Naturopaths and others say I can eat the yolks. Many advise me not to drink milk of any kind except Yogurt, which is cultured milk with Bulgarian germs. I am also told not to eat bread of any kind or any cereals. These above are the questions I would like to ask about my diet so I will be sure I am eating the correct things.

I would also like to know whether or not I should continue to use the 1/2% Ezrine in my eyes which keeps the pressure down?

Am I to get from you any information to fill out before you give me the answers to the questions so I can give you the address I will be at … at the time you specify and the date.

Since I have been here in … I found some very nice avocadoes and am sending you some this week. I hope you will like them.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you very much for your prompt answer to my husband’s request for checkup reading and for giving him the date of November 3rd, 3:30 to 4:30 EWT.

My husband will be at the …, Florida, Apt. #9, last Apartment downstairs, it is on the corner and next to a street. I hope this is the information you need.

His only other question is whether or not he will get his sight back in the right eye? What can he do to do it?

Thank you so much for the wonderful reading you gave my husband and telling him what to do. You certainly have a marvelous gift and it is wonderful what you do for humanity. Through your efforts and what guides you my husband and I are both sure that he will he cured.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I am sorry to have more questions but my husband is very anxious that you include these in your Nov. 3rd reading. If there is any additional charge please let him know and send him the reading to his … address as I have to be away on business at that time.

He wants to know -

1st - Is there a growth of any kind in his head or eyes? 2nd - Is there something wrong with his middle ear as he can only lay on his right side and whenever he lays or turns on his back or left side he gets dizzy and nauseated. Why is this? 3rd - What can he do to cure his hernia?

R5. 10/30/72 GD’s note: I think this was referring to a type of electric vibrator, new at that time, in the shape of a brick with a motor inside, and a strap over it through which the masseur’s hand was put to do the massaging. It gave off a heavy electrical vibration which was very effective. Lili Olsen, Va. Beach masseuse, treated me with this vibrator many years ago. She says it is no longer available, the particular type she used. [See 3276-1, Par. 18.]

B1. 10/12/43 Remarks before Reading: “I have glaucoma - right eye practically blind, trying to save the left - though doctors give no hope - they don’t know the cause nor the remedy. I have been on a fast, a cleansing diet, doing without meats, etc., - the naturopaths have helped me some, I think they are on the right track but there’s so much they don’t know. The last few weeks I’ve discovered that I also have arthritis. I’ve been told that there is trouble with my liver, also that I have a sagging colon. Have suffered for years with constipation. The last few days I have felt very dizzy.”
