This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3290], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Gertrude O. Tubby.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.)]

Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, N.J.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes - (she should keep quiet if she wants the reading) - we have the body here, [3290].

  3. Now as we find there is a complication of disturbances preventing the better physical functioning through the body. Much of this is produced by neglect to the body of its precautions or cares, and much comes from improper diet and disregard of combinations - to gratify appetites.

  4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body: The blood supply indicates a toxic condition through the system from poor eliminations.

  5. The heart disturbance is more from the disturbances in the colon, both a plethoric condition in the transverse and part of descending and a prolapsus in the caecum area.

  6. These cause, then, a great disturbance at times; dizziness, sick headaches, tiredness, flushed face, cold feet and hands at times, and anxieties.

  7. Then there are those disturbances in the general nervous system from pressures that are produced through the body, especially in the lymph centers, from the effects of the poisons and the lack of proper activity of the liver.

  8. Hence those periods when the body is rather crabby with the surroundings and conditions.

  9. Much of this is the trouble and disturbance, with the management of activities about the body.

  10. If the body would have good health, be prepared to take care of the body. If the body would have friends, it must itself be friendly.

  11. As to the functioning of the organs themselves, - from the pressures in the nervous system - as between sympathetic and cerebrospinal, especially in the upper dorsal and cervical area, - we find that the eyes, ears and nose at times give trouble. There is also some disturbance indicated through the antrum and soft tissue of the face.

  12. In making corrections of these, - first change the mental attitude of the body. If the body is fearful of others taking things away from the body, they’ll be taken all right! If others are treated as you would be treated, this will bring varied conditions from those in the present surroundings and environs.

  13. Then, in the physical forces of the body, - do have about three to four weeks of hydrotherapy treatments in the first series. Then leave off for about the same period, then take again. But, unless you are going to take all of these suggested, don’t commence with any of it. For, it will be worse than not beginning at all. For the system is attempting to adjust itself to the conditions, and the body may drag along until there is an overstraining of the heart or such torpidity in the liver, or such a condition in the kidneys that it becomes acute, and then there will have to be taken a rest for operative measures - or rest altogether in this experience.

  14. But - if you are going to follow these suggestions - begin with the hydrotherapy and follow through with all indicated. The hydrotherapy each week should include first a very mild sweat followed by a Fume Bath. Then there should be the resting in tepid water in which there is put Oil of Pine, followed by the needle showers and the thorough rubdown.

  15. These should be taken in series for sufficient length of time to relieve this tension throughout the system. Do have sufficient colonics to correct the prolapsus as well as the plethoric condition in the colon.

  16. Do leave off meats. Rarely should there be any meats taken by this body. When taken, let it be fish or fowl and not in too large a quantity. Use plenty of raw vegetables, especially celery, lettuce and the like. These may be taken with or without dressing, but use only an oil dressing when those are used. Have the leafy vegetables and not the pod variety.

  17. If the body will do these, - by the end of the second or third series we should have very much improved conditions physically; and if the attitude is kept as indicated, the surrounding conditions and the trouble the body has with the associates will have also disappeared.

  18. Ready for questions.

  19. (Q) Suggest remedy for asthma, sinus and bronchitis? (A) As just given. The massages, the Fume Bath and the correcting of these. But lose some of these disturbances of pressures by the fleshy portions in the body.

  20. (Q) Is it indicated that I will be able to sell my large home and grounds? if so, when? (A) If there is not too great an anxiety about same, and if the body will live right itself, it may.

  21. We are through with this reading.
