This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of October, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3323], new associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by his cousin, Mr. [1942].

Time of Reading At home in, 3:35 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Michigan.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical forces of the body. These have been and are general depletions through the lack of the ability of the body to rebuild resistances in the physical functionings of the body. These as we find have been cared for very well; save we would add to that which has been the administration.

3. We would add the low electrical forces of the low heat wave, or the low form of diathermy. Not the high voltage of same, but as low as it may be given. Thus we will supply energizing influences to the blood supply as related to its activity through heart, lungs, liver and kidneys.

4. This application would be made not more than once a week. After each application we would massage the body with oils that aid in stimulating the centers from which such energies are supplied through the activity of the secondary nerve forces - in the lumbar and sacral area, through the 9th dorsal area, through the whole area from the 3rd and 4th dorsal to the base of the brain.

5. Through these same means, we would also supply stimulation to those activities where there has been upsetting in the digestive forces of the body.

6. Do these, if we would bring the better conditions for this body, [3323].

Dear Mr. Cayce;

Your reading which took place on Oct. 28th., duly received and am very much pleased with same, inasmuch as the conditions were correctly given, and glad to learn that treatment has been very well taken care of at home, but note suggestions for addition to such care.

Am not familiar with diathermy and do no know that treatment such as described can be had locally, and for obvious reasons do not wish to take up with my doctor at this time, or until I have some information regarding same. Can you advise me if such treatments can be taken at home, and what instruments are necessary or available. I assume however it’s a physician’s job, and not to be handled like a sun, or violet ray lamp, which I now use. Will be glad to hear from you if convenient and again thanking you, and with best wishes for your health and prosperity, beg to remain,

Dear Mr. [3323]

Replying to yours of the sixth, I think it will be necessary for you to have the physician to give you the diathermy treatment. If you can find a good electrotherapist near you, he will know exactly what is meant by the giving of the diathermy. Usually it is indicated that this should be used very light, especially in the beginning. As I interpreted from what has been given from time to time, this is a high frequent [frequency?] electrical treatment, but is often indicated in certain types of this order [disorder?]. I hope you will have no trouble in locating same. No, it is not to be handled like a violet ray or a sun light machine.
