1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3343].

4. In analyzing the records here, much may be given as warnings. Much might be given that has been and is exemplary in the activities of the entity yet there are some phases concerning which we would warn the entity that he be not deceived within himself.

5. In interpreting the records, these we choose with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience; enabling the entity to better fulfill the purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.

6. There is quite a definite pattern in the appearances of the entity as its activities have been at periods when reconstruction has been in order in the world - of physical consciousness among men. Hence - as a Uranian as well as an Atlantean - the entity may become either a very definite spiritual, mental and physical success, or naught.

7. In analyzing the urges, there is the great tendency for the entity to judge according to material standards, and to depend mentally upon physical manifestations. These are well, but - with such standards and with such a measuring stick - one may easily deceive self. For we are warned that there is a way that seemeth right to a man but the end thereof is death. Death is separation, lost opportunity - in some sphere of activity in which there is a consciousness, either spiritual or material. Mind is ever the builder, for it is the companion of soul and body, and is the way that is demonstrated and manifested in the earth in the Christ.

8. Then, in giving the urges, we find that these arise from those periods of awareness or consciousness not in the earth plane. Thus these remain latent or are given expression in the individuality of the entity, while the manifestations in the earth become the personality manifested through the emotions or the sensing forces of the material body.

9. We find for this body, then, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mars all become a part of the entity’s inner consciousness.

10. Thus we find one who may easily become very emotional over any experience, or may easily become very disappointed or subjugated by material or mental conditions.

11. These, then, are the warnings. Turn more to the soul self, the spiritual man. And then is the spirit directing, and with what spirit you entertain, or with what spirit ye give power to that attempted. Naturally, in Uranus we find the interest in the occult, the unusual, the educational factors, or any from of activity. In Mars and in Saturn we find political tendencies. For the entity, while not being a figure observed in the material, may be the power behind any political faction.

12. These then lend power, as it were, possibilities, probabilities in the experience of the entity; dependent upon how and why these urges are applied in the dealings with the fellow man.

13. As to the appearances in the earth we find that these have come in those periods of activity when there were great changes. And the entity has ever been the instructor or the counsellor for those who did the moving or who made the outward impression. Thus the material manifestation has undue proportions in the consciousness of the entity. Watching, as it were, then, someone else having the material glory, and wanting some itself.

14. These then are the experiences.

15. Before this the entity was in the earth when there were those associations or activities that brought a new order into the experience of man as in relationship to freedom of speech, freedom of worship.

16. The entity then was a close associate with one Thomas Paine in the name Gene Callahann. The entity was in thought and in activity the counsellor or the argufier with Paine as well as being an associate and an acquaintance of many others that were in the forefront of the activities during that period.

17. Thus the entity would make, and is innately, a good politician, a student of international relationships. The entity would do well to prepare itself and then work in those offices or those activities, as the representative of a country, of a corporation or of an organization in foreign lands. For these are the natural trend of the entity, provided the body spiritualizes or gets the grasp of the spiritual meanings that prompt individuals in their varied activities, and that the influence, the spirit with which the activity is carried on, is of Him who has given, “I have overcome the world.” Thus may the entity, first in conquering self overcome the world and be a channel through which many may find those experiences that will bring the greater awareness, the awakening as to God’s purpose with man.

18. Before that the entity was in the Roman land when there were those expansions in the various departments set by the establishing of an empire.

19. The entity was one set in order where there were those activities that controlled the individuals put in authority as representatives of the land, as in parts of northern Africa, in portions of Asia, in portions of the isles that were a part of this building up.

20. Thus a study of human relationships, those activities having to do with political economy as well as activities to do with the authority on physical and mental subjects. Thus the entity again becomes the student, the educator, the director. Even in the present the entity may use these abilities for those fields of activity in which it may find the greater expression. Not directly then as a politician but to purposes holding office under a semi-political activity.

21. These should be ever tempered with the spirit of purposes, the spirit of brotherly love, the spirit of patience, the spirit of kindess. These are the seeds of truth and in same may come the greater growth and development to this individual entity.

22. The name then was Orington.

23. Before that the entity was in the earth during those periods when the children of promise entered into the Promise land.

The entity was among the children born in the wilderness.

24. Then in the name Obojahm, the entity was among those put in authority of the sons or the followers of Reuben. Thus those things pertaining to agricultural pursuits, those things pertaining to beasts of burden as well as beasts for food, as well as those that become a portion of the sacrifice, were the study of the entity through those particular periods.

25. Special lands, grazing lands, then, oft find a response in the consciousness of the entity as related to the supplies from the earth itself as in grain or the feed of various kinds for various characters if stick, or such.

26. These may become a part of the consciousness, yet these in the greater sense may be related to the problems as indicated - as the representative in a land where there may be the coalitions or interchange of products of various lands.

27. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, among those in that group set as the judges; not as the counsellor, but as judges upon the activities of those retained in the schools for varied activities through the land, as well as those that were to become representatives of such activities in other lands.

28. Hence the teacher, the educator. These are the applications as we find best to be made in the present.

29. Then the entity was known as Is-Arar-En.

30. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain and how:

31. As we have indicated, first find self in its relationship to spiritual things. Not of self but of that influence, that power those which man may attain to the greater consciousness of his oneness with the universe, yes - but as of a personal Savior, a personal God - not as an individual. For the individuality of a soul must be lost in the personality of the Christ - in God. These become unified, then, in their activities in relationships with others.

32. The fields of service are in that direction as a representative in a consulate, or an associate with such in some other land.

33. Do that.

34. Find self, find its relations to its Creator. Know in what ye believe, and the author of thy faith.

35. Ready for questions.

(A) Read that just given. You will find you possess many. But first there must be kept the spiritual attitude that brings one in personal relationships to the spirit of truth.

36. (Q) Why do I possess a certain tendency toward physical exhibitionism, and how can it be most effectively subdued? (A) As just indicated. Find the spirit within self. For, as indicated so oft, think not who will descend from heaven and bring a message, or who will come from over the sea that ye may hear and know. For lo, He is within thine own soul, thine own conscience. Thus does the Master give, “I stand at the door and knock. Open - I and the Father - will enter and abide with thee.” He meant it! Would you entertain Him? then live it!

37. (Q) Under hypnosis, could I become a reliable vehicle for the transmission of clairvoyant perception? (A) Best let hypnosis alone, for this body, unless you wish to hypnotize someone else! Practice it within yourself. Let it be self that would be subdued and give the authority to God, not man - through man, but to God.

38. (Q) Will I find happiness and spiritual progress in marriage, or should I forgo marriage during this appearance? (A) As we find, in the fortieth year you should find a happy union in marriage.

39. (Q) If I am to be inducted into the Armed Forces, in which branch of the service can I be most useful? (A) If inducted there will not be much choice, but make application for the personnel activity. For ye may guide others well. Or selective activity in that office for personnel.

40. (Q) Is it indicated that I will be inducted into the Armed Forces? (A) As just indicated, this depends upon the stand the entity takes.

41. (Q) In consideration of all factors, does the game “Tispy Tempo” which I have though of copyrighting, possess sufficiently widespread entertainment value to deserve to be marketed? (A) It does, and let it be through some of those organizations that have already set themselves in order; as Parkes (?) [Parker’s (?), Parker Brothers (?)] is well, but be sure it is copyrighted and patented also.

42. (Q) Why do I find it comparatively easy to hold the detail of some subject in mind while I am teaching it, and then after a lapse of but a few months have such a vague recollection of the details which were once so familiar? (A) The abilities to live today! And you possess it, but it is the way to live.

43. (Q) Why do I blush so noticeably whenever I become suddenly or unexpectedly the focus of attention? (A) Because of keeping self subdued in its positions of activity throughout. As indicated, put self to the front, yes - but in the POWER of the divine. No one blushes when speaking with Him.

R1. 11/28/43 [3343]‘s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I am enclosing with this letter a check for five dollars to apply on the “Living Sponsorship” fund which is being set up for the organization. I expect to forward more as consistently as circumstances may permit.

The transcript of my life reading, which has reached me on November 15th, is a very important document to me, and one which I value highly. Thru the information and advice which it contains I expect to be able to make faster and more consistent progress in attaining my life’s objective in this appearance.

The specific advice which was given concerning the game which was the subject of one of my questions, is being followed carefully, and if I am fortunate enough to market it to advantage, I should be able to be of further assistance to the Association.

I shall also be glad to send in any corroborative evidence that may be desirable for your files in connection with my reading as time brings about the fulfillment of the events mentioned.

Dear Miss Davis,

As a subscriber to your weekly letter and Bulletin, I have greatly enjoyed the information which your organization has set to me.

It was my privilege to have received a Life Reading from Mr. Cayce and was much impressed with the possibilities for improvement that were unfolded in his report, and I plan to use it as an overall blueprint whenever the necessity for a long range decision arises.

Meanwhile, I have been especially interested in some of the references contained in the various excerpts, and it seems to me that by the proper application of scientific and business principles, some of the devices mentioned could be made to result in significant benefit for everyone concerned.

For example, in the hospital which Mr. Cayce conducted for a time, it is reported that certain electrical units were used to correct diseased conditions within the body by modifying or transforming rates of vibration, etc. It seems to me that the present day principles of scientific research could be applied to a device of this kind and its various effects and limitations carefully studied, catalogued and verified. Then some arrangement could be made to patent the device in the name of the association if its by-laws permit, or to patent the device ourselves under royalty arrangement in favor of your association.

I would appreciate your giving some thought to this possibility. Since my work relates to electronics, we would have facilities here to conduct extensive research into the principles of the various items which were designated in the readings, and if we were successful in the proper exploitation of any one of these things, then we might work together in helping to make all of them widely available for public use.

I would also be interested in obtaining the detailed references to the Atlantean use of crystals which you mention in your October Bulletin under number 1297-L-1 11/25/36 - as we deal in certain types of quartz crystal, and there may be some information that would indicate definite lines of research. Therefore please advise if a transcript of such portions of that reading might be purchased.

We are enclosing a check for $2.50 to cover a subscription to the bulletin in the name of this company, and will be glad to be placed on your mailing list to be advised of any special publications.

Dear Mr. [3343]:

Your letter of December 1, was turned over to me by Miss Gladys Davis.

Thank you for your interest in our work. We will be glad to cooperate with you and make possible further study of the appliances described in my father’s readings and used by hundreds of people in all parts of the country. May I describe the two most important appliances?

The RADIO ACTIVE APPLIANCE was designed and explained in the readings as an instrument for equalizing circulation and relieving insomnia. From time to time over a period of forty years, these appliances were recommended in individual cases. Several hundred of them have been built in crude forms. Reports show that they were helpful.

The WET CELL APPLIANCE was designed for stimulation of the glandular centers. This appliance, like the Radio-Active Appliance, was suggested for individuals throughout the whole period of my father’s work. These appliances were used successfully in some of the most serious cases. Involved in the use of this appliance, the Wet Cell, were solutions of various properties such as camphor, gold, iodine, etc., through which the low electrical current was passed. Some very interesting ideas were given by the readings as to the effects of the stimulations furnished by these instruments.

There are two individuals in this area who have interested themselves in the theory and building of these appliances. I mention them at this time because our subsequent correspondence and conversations will include them. One is Marsden Godrey of Norfolk, Virginia, and my brother Edgar E. Cayce. Mr. Godfrey has been building the appliances during the past few years. My brother worked on them at various times before his entrance into the army. During his army life he worked in the laboratory and in the field with radar machines. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.

I will discuss your letter with both of the above mentioned individuals and write you again about the appliances. We are anxious to carry on further research work on them, and if they prove generally helpful, as I believe they will, make them available to the public.

Late in January or early February, I plan to visit some of our Trustees in the area of Memphis, Tenn. It might be possible for me to come to … at that time, or meet you at some point in between to make more definite arrangements regarding work with the appliances.

The information which you requested regarding the Atlantean crystals can be extracted for you. It might suggest lines of research, but is not complete enough to proceed upon as a basis for experimentation, as are the readings devoted to the appliances which give exact dimensions, proportions, etc. A typist should be able to look-up and copy this information for you in one day at a cost of about $5.00

In the event you carry on experiments suggested by this material with interesting results, we would like the right to publish your findings. Please keep us advised.

We would like to have you as an Active Member of the Association. For your consideration a membership blank is enclosed. In the event you take out a membership on this form deduct the $2.50 already paid for the Bulletin subscription.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

In response to your letter of December 20th, let me say, first, that if you do find that you are going to be in the vicinity of … early in the year, please get in touch with us so that if it is at all possible we can arrange for an interview with you.

In connection with the extracts of readings covering the Atlantean use of crystals, we are enclosing a check for five dollars, as suggested. If the work proves to be more extended than you have estimated, you may bill us for the additional fee involved.

I am personally filling out the membership blank, on a monthly payment basis so instead of deducting the $2.50 paid in by the company for the bulletin, you may continue to address the Bulletin to the company, and send another copy to me, since my membership will include such publication.

Inasmuch as your brother, Edgar, holds a degree in Electrical engineering, he is doubtless fully cognizant of the theory upon which the use of the Radio Active Appliance and Wet Cell Appliances are predicated, so it may be that we could not offer any advantage in connection with the proposed exploitation of these devices, that is not already available to you - but we’ll gladly discuss these possibilities further, if and when we are privileged to talk with you personally; or by further correspondence after you have heard from Edgar and Mr. Godfrey.

You may also be assured that if any newsworthy developments occur in connection with experiments predicated on the excerpts about the Atlantean use of crystals, we shall be glad to confer with you relative to the advisability of general publication. For example, it is possible that some law or specific application thereof, may be discovered through these experiments that might result in the manufacture of an integral part of some commercial device.

In this event we would want the privilege of working out some accepted standard basis of royalty payments - and during some reasonable period of exploitation it might be desirable for only a certain type of publicity to be used, in which case we would need your complete accord.

It would not be our intent to do more than exercise the usual business caution in connection with our competitors, but you can see that such precaution might easily entail the withholding of certain information - which without such restriction, you might otherwise feel should be published, as a part of our agreement, and I would appreciate a general expression of your opinion covering such a contingency.

Dear Mr. [3343]

Thank you for your letter of December 27, 1945, enclosing the check for five dollars for the extracting of information on Atlantean crystals.

Due to illness our staff has recently suffered the loss of a typist and there will be a slight delay in getting the extracts to you. We regret this.

Your membership and the subscription for the Bulletin to the Company have been noted. Thank you very much. We are glad to have you as an Active Member. I hope the relationship will prove mutually beneficial.

In regard to any publicity concerning your use of the material on the Atlantean crystals. You will have our complete accord in publishing anything relative to your work on this information. In the event you are able to develop anything which can be used for the benefit of mankind, we will be glad to work out royalty arrangements with you, as you suggest.

Now regarding the Radio-Active and Wet Cell Appliances, I wish to advise you of the steps I have taken. This matter has been discussed fully with my brother Edgar E. Cayce, and with Marsden Godfrey, who at present is constructing the appliances. Enclosed is a draft of some comments submitted by my brother.

Upon exchange of letters constituting an agreement regarding the handling of the appliances, or the setting up of an agreement in personal conference with you, we are prepared to turn over to you copies of all information regarding the construction and use of the appliances which has come through the readings, together with samples of each of these appliances.

Marsden Godfrey is enthusiastic about continuing work with the appliances. If you could see your way clear to working out an arrangement with him to come out and help with the experiments and manufacture of the appliances needed for experimentation, you would I believe save time and expense in the long-run. Marsden has considerable experience working in metals. He has constructed appliances, received reports on their effectiveness, repaired them, and in all been of the greatest help. After the experimentation is under way, he could return here, and if you decide to present the appliance to the public, we would like to have the agency for this area.

Through our members all over the country we have excellent connections which could well be employed in distributing the appliances. The Wet Cell might be sold to physicians - especially those who have had experience with the work which my father carried on. The Radio Active, could, I believe, be given a more general distribution on the same status as a vibrator or violet ray. Our Walgreen connections might be of the greatest help in this direction.

Godfrey’s address is 1124 Rush Street, Broad Creek Village, Norfolk, Va.

The following general information may help us in conducting further negotiations on this matter:

1. I expect to visit one of our Trustees in Memphis, Tenn., in February. Do you visit Memphis on business? Could we arrange a point of meeting?
2. Our reports of those who have used the appliances constitute valuable evidence, and are sufficient to warrant further investigation, but we feel that further tests are necessary under careful observation, in order to evaluate the worth of the appliance. We feel that if this work is done your observation rather than any we create that it will be much more valuable.
3. Patents will be necessary and we feel should be drawn by you when a final form has been perfected. While our present models are worthwhile, they are not stream-lined for sale to the public.
4. The Association must receive a royalty on each appliance sold. This can be set up on a percentage basis in our first agreements.

May I assure you that I am personally interested in the effectiveness of these appliances, since I know of the many cases where they have proven helpful. This is an excellent way of making the “good” of the readings available to those who need it. We will cooperate in every possible way in the development and presentation of these appliances to the public in the event you decide to present them to the public.

R6. 1/16/46 Memo from Edgar Evans Cayce:

Very interested in your letter and wish to throw in my two cents.

The problem as I see it is mainly one for a doctor; i.e. should observe chart, and thus predict the effects of those appliances on people. The readings and letters from patients offer a good bit of material on what should and what does happen.

To date the appliances have been manufactured verbatim from the readings - little or no experimentation being done by maker due to lack of facilities equipment or experience. Therefore there is a good bit of work that can be done on attempting to build appliances cheaper and in a neater and more efficient form.

Basically the so-called “Radio Active Appliance” is a condenser. Temperature is important in its function. As far as I know the nature of the electrical impulses that circulate between it and the body are unknown. However the capacity of this appliance could be measured at different temperatures. The dimensions of its components could be varied in length and thickness and the capacity remeasured. Limits and standards should be set up. Sensitive ammeters and voltmeters could be used to detect any minute current or voltage impulses while the apparatus was hooked up to a patient. An amplifier and oscilloscope might be used in studying current and voltage pattern if any are detectable.

As for the “Wet Cell Appliance” its name is an apt description. It is simply a low voltage battery. Again current and voltage measurements should be taken with the battery connected to various persons. Again the size of materials and the strength of solution should be varied and measurements taken to determine the variations in current and voltage produce. Oscillograph patterns might be useful if there is any variation in body resistance during a treatment. I see no reason why a much more compact and neater battery may not be built to produce the same effects, or possibly even a rectifier that might be plugged into any convenient house outlet.

The effects these appliances have on persons are much more difficult to measure and are again in the province of the doctor. However the manner in which the properties of various substances such as chloride of gold, camphor, etc. are carried into a body can stand a lot of investigating. Sensitive and careful measurements are necessary as the quantities involved that doubtless minute. In spite of the seeming simplicity of the construction of the devices there seem to be principles or at least effects involved that to date are unfamiliar to most doctors and technicians alike. The countless reports of remarkable aid received from the use of these appliances preclude their effects being hallucinations. I would be immensely interested in seeing a thorough study made of these appliances in order that their benefit may be made available to all who need it in such a manner as to minimize the possibility of their misuse.

Will aid in any way possible.

R7. 2/2/47 [3343]‘s letter to HLC:

Dear Hugh Lynn,

I enjoyed and appreciated your recent letter very much. It has been a source of definite regret to me that I was unable to carry out the tentative plans which we discussed early in 1946.

Unfortunately the … Electronics Company with whom I was associated, met with a disastrous series of circumstances, in its effort to effect a suitable reorganization…and I was obliged to lose the investment which my contact there represented, and to seek other employment.

I had hoped that the … Electronics Co. might become an effective medium for the distribution of some of the therapeutic devices that had been described in your father’s readings, and I am sincerely disappointed with the turn of events that, for the time at least, has rendered this hope unfounded.

I thoroughly enjoyed the several conversations which I had with Major Harden [Major Chas. O. Harden], when he was in … and I certainly hope that it may be my privilege someday to meet and talk with you.

I am impressed with the current progress of the Association, and I find, the literature which you forward to me, to be intensely interesting. I was also much interested in your comments about Atomidine. Fortunately I have been able to keep a bottle of this compound on hand for the past several years, and on those occasions when a need for it was indicated, it has proved to be a very effective medicine - I hope that through the efforts of the Association it can become widely known and used.

I am enclosing a check for the February installment of my membership fee. And Hugh Lynn, if there is still a copy of the mental and spiritual reading that was offered to members in the January Bulletin, I would very much appreciate receiving one.

I’d like also to tell you, that as a result of information obtained in the one reading which I was privileged to obtain from your father - I proceeded to patent, copyright and trademark a game which the reading indicated should be submitted to Parker Brothers. At the present time this game is in their hands for consideration but it has been “kicked around” a bit, and I’m not sure yet that they are going to accept it. However, if someone accepts it the Association will have a 1/3rd interest in the proceeds, as I have intended to give the artist who helped in the preparation, a 1/3rd interest and thus make an even three-way split.

In this connection, it might be worth while to consult your files on my reading, …, which was dated Nov. 1943 (Question #7) for my copy, the firm name which it was suggested that I contact, was given as follows: Parkes (?), and I interpreted this to mean Parker Bros., but I could not be certain whether Gladys had not understood the word that was given, or whether my copy reflected a mere typographical error at that point. If your file copy would throw any further light on this point it might expedite matters.

Dear Mr. [3343]

Thank you for your friendly letter of Feb. 2nd.

I was sorry to learn of the necessary break with the … Electronics Company. I too had hoped that this might be a channel for development of research work on, and an outlet for distributing the appliances. We will certainly keep you advised of developments in these directions and your suggestions will be welcome at any time.

I read with considerable interest your life reading given in November ‘43, and I am wondering just what effort you have made toward getting into the line of work recommended for you The directions were pretty specific but I can realize how much of a change such activity would entail.

It would be of great help to us in bringing our files up to date if you would let us have a letter outlining just how accurate the reading was in analyzing your character, temperament, abilities, etc., and stating briefly what information of an inspirational or practical nature it contained for you.

If you have any specific questions about the life reading, I will be glad to try to clarify them for you.

I note with interest your reference to the game about which you asked a question in your reading. I am afraid I can’t throw any light on the name “Parkes”, and I rather tend to agree with you that it possibly meant Parker Bros. [GD’s note: I believe the reading said “Parker’s” and I misinterpreted it to mean some complicated Greek name which I didn’t know how to spell.] In many instances, we have found that when such references were traced, that some early associates of the companies bore the names given in the readings. I have known instances where names wee given which had later been changed by the individuals. The readings picked up the original name before the change. I am not suggesting that this is true in your particular case, as it could be (as you suggested) a matter or pronunciation as the reading was given. Have you tried checking through the library on any industrial listings of game manufacturers?

R9. 3/13/47 [3343]‘s letter to HLC:

Dear Hugh Lynn,

I’m enclosing my March membership installment, and I shall take this opportunity to mention some of the points that will serve to supplement your file in connection with the life reading that I was privileged to obtain from your father in 1943.

In the first place, the character and temperament analysis was surprisingly accurate. The mention made as to my propensities as an educator or teacher, found me at that time engaged in teaching adult classes in a war-plant, such subjects as blue-print reading, shop mathematics, fundamentals of electricity, etc., although Edgar Cayce could have had no knowledge of such fact other than through his extra-sensory ability.

The advice as well as the warnings given in the reading, seemed entirely logical to me, in view of my own self-knowledge, and I have every intention of following through to the best of my ability in an effort to get into the line of work which was indicated as being best for me. As you have noted, this would involve rather drastic changes, and therefore may take a bit of time, but I am working toward it, albeit gradually.

You will note in one of the questions following the main reading, that I inquire concerning the advisability of marriage. I was told that I “would find a happy union in marriage in my 40th year.” At the date of the reading I was in my 37th year. In August of 1946 I was married (in my 40th year) and to a girl whom I had not even met in 1943. Although only a few months have elapsed since this “event”, I can verify that the union gives every indication of being a very happy one, indeed - even as was foretold.

In connection with the question concerning the game of “Tipsy Tempo” I believe the advice was very good concerning the advisability of both patenting and copyrighting the game, as it looks as if I may have a bit of difficulty with Parker Bros. and such difficulty might be far more serious if my basic protection were not complete.

Incidentally, I seem to remember that your father originally created the game now known as “Pit” which has been handled by Parker Brothers for many years; and I believe it was mentioned in the book (There Is A River) that no compensation had been made by the company for the game idea. It would be rather in the nature of “poetic justice” if I could not get Parker Bros to pay a reasonable price for “Tipsy Tempo” (which game, strangely enough, is a modern variation of the basic principle upon which “Pit” was originally evolved), and that part of the proceeds should find its way back to the Association through 1/3rd interest which I have promised you if and when such funds materialize.

At this moment I can think of no other instance involving the reading, that would serve as corroborative evidence for any point raised. As far as identifying any material relative to former incarnations, I have not done so, - although it might be possible to find historical reference concerning the person named Gene Callahann who, according to the reading was a close associate of Thomas Paine.

If however, any further evidence develops, as I confidently believe that it will, I will be in touch with you, and will provide further supplements for your records.

I think you’re doing a fine job of carrying on the work, and I hope it may be my privilege to be of some assistance to you, in one way or another, as time goes on.

Thank you very much for your letter of March 13th giving us a report on your Life reading. It certainly contained some interesting information.

We will look forward with anticipation to the working out of “poetic justice” regarding the game which you mentioned. I remember very well my father’s development of a game called “Drinx” in spite of the fact that he had such a bad time with “Pit”, which Parker Bros. still markets, I believe. He was always interested in the development of social games.

I do not gather from your letter whether you have tried to locate through historical records the Gene Callahann mentioned in your reading. If you do locate anything on this, be sure to advise us.

In the near future, we are going to be publishing a pamphlet on group work. I hope you will find this of interest and it will be possible for you to to get a group started in your community.

Her illness has not been conclusively diagnosed as Multiple Sclerosis, and I have found an Osteopathic Physician in … who was familiar with your father’s work through the book “There is a River”. Therefore I would like to purchase an abstract of what the readings advised for Multiple Sclerosis, so that this physician can pattern his treatments along the lines of any recommendations that your father was able to give for this particular illness.

I would greatly appreciate your help if you would let me know when such an abstract could be made available and at what price so that I may make earliest possible arrangements to purchase it.

I was very sorry to have your letter of February 14th indicating that your wife has Multiple Sclerosis. We are sending you immediately our abstract of readings on this condition.

You will note that the treatments outlined involved the wet cell appliance. This a slow day by day type of treatment but we have had reports which indicate its value.

These wet cell appliance are at present being made up by Marsden Godfrey, 1134 Rush Street, Broad Creek Village, Norfolk, 2, Va. for experimental purposes and I am certain we can arrange to get one for you at a minimum cost if you decide to follow the treatments.

We are glad to be in touch with you again but sorry it is on such a serious note. You may count on our full cooperation. No expenses beyond the cost of the wet cell appliance are involved.

You will be interested to know that we have been following the abstract suggestions covering Multiple Sclerosis, for a little over a month now, and there has already been a noticeable improvement in muscular tone as well as consistent increase in weight.

It is our intention to continue with the treatments, including the wet cell appliance, until my wife’s weight has become normal. Then we will consult a neurologist for a thorough check-up to see what progress has been achieved in the other key areas of neural response.

As soon as we can make a confirmed interim report that would be of real significance for your file, I will be glad to forward it.

I am enclosing the several abstracts which you were kind enough to forward, and I have included some extra copies of each, that may be suitable for use.

Unfortunately we find that Multiple Sclerosis had seriously interfered with my wife’s ability to type, and this has accounted for the substantial lapse of time necessary to prepare copies.

Meanwhile I am glad to be able to report that through the continued use of the Wet Cell Appliance, as well as the prescribed osteopathic adjustments, my wife seems to be experiencing gradual improvement, and we are indeed grateful for the help represented by the abstracts covering the M.S. symptoms.

If your files contain an abstract covering treatment for Varicose Veins, I would appreciate receiving such abstract and will see that it is recopied and returned with extra copies as in the case of the other abstracts which you have been kind enough to send to me.

Meanwhile I’d like to report that we are going into the 4th month in use of the Wet Cell Appliance for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and so far, there has been no retrogression and no expansion of disability into previously unrestricted areas of sensation. In fact the general health condition has improved and we are now working eagerly toward the rehabilitation of nerve channels that serve the muscles used in walking, - which nerves were damaged before we started the present course of treatment.

Needless to say, we feel extremely fortunate to have as the basis for our treatment the comprehensive Abstract which your father gave covering this disease - for the Medical Profession still seems to be entirely at a loss to offer any specific course of treatment. By following the Abstract’s suggestions we feel that it is just a matter of time until all the disease symptoms will be overcome.

NEW PARLOR GAME Edgar Cayce, of Bowling Green, Sells Invention to Mfg. Co. Mr. Edgar Cayce, head clerk in the bookstore of L. D. Potter & Co., on State street, is the author of a parlor game which will net him considerable money and bring him much fame. The name of the game is “The Pit,” and is to be played with a deck of sixty-four cards. It is on the order of the famous game of “Bourse” but those who have played both games say that the one of which Mr. Cayce is the author is far superior to the other. The cards represent the various cereals, railroad, mining stock, etc., which are sold by the New York exchange. They are first dealt to the players and the object is to corner the market, on certain things. The one doing this is the winner. To play the game successfully requires considerable science and luck of course plays no small part. Mr. Cayce has sold his game outright to the Parker manufacturing Co., of Salem, Mass.
