This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 11th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the brother - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet.

Time of Reading Allentown State Hosp. 11:25 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern War Time. Allentown, Penna. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes - the records materially here are not good, nor conducive to the thought that physically the body may be materially aided.

2. No one is to be condemned, though many might be for what has happened. But spiritually the body is not at a standstill.

3. If more kindnesses are shown, more love, greater peace may be brought to this body.

4. There is such an advanced state of lack of coordination in the reflexes. It is not possession, it is deterioration that prevents there being coordination in the mental forces. For the reflexes nominal in brain have been broken down.

5. All that may be done in this particular experience, then, as we find, is to persuade those whenever possible who have the care, and those who were and are responsible, to create, to make for friendships, showing patience and love and thought - by being as oft with the entity as possible. For, remember, it must ever be not just as a duty to perform, something to be done. For, one day there will come to those that have asked help here, “I was imprisoned and ye have visited me not - I was imprisoned, in body, in mind, and ye visited me not.”

6. It is with that thought, then, that those close to the entity should consider it a privilege to give such care to this body. With such there may come help. It is not impossible, but is it probable? The probability is with those who care - care!

7. Just think in self, “somebody cares!” it is the greatest thought that comes to the mind of man - “somebody cares.” For what? As to whether ye are this or that, or that they may use you for this or that? No! That they would like to give, like to be, like to supply thy every thought, thy every need of every nature.

8. It is with that spirit, if these are applied, that there may be brought a change entirely. For it is not possession.

9. Then there may be given peace, in the quietness. For as He gives, “When ye do My biddings, I will give thee peace.” That is what is needed in the mind of this soul.

10. We are through for the present.

R1. 3/15/44 Brother of Miss [3365] wrote asking for another rdg. for her saying “Your rdg. didn’t answer whether Dr. Rossman or Dr. Hoffman at the Allentown State Hospital will cooperate with [3365] to give instructions to be followed for her to recover…your instructions gave no clue except that the case was almost hopeless and that only a miracle could save her - and that she should be shown love and she should get close to God. These instructions have been carried out through my effort but very little if any progress has been shown. Her condition is almost the same. Please advise. It seems she will never be let out tho she is only a diabetic. They are threatening to put her with the insane as they can’t keep her anywhere else. Give me date for a reading.”

R2. 5/7/44 Appt. for Miss [3365] was cancelled due to EC’s illness.

R3. Subsequent letters dealt with Miss [3365]‘s brother’s request for an appointment for his own physical reading, which was set for 9/30/44, and cancelled - with many others - due to EC’s illness.

B2. 10/5/43 Verifying the appointment her brother submitted these questions:

What doctor will be best qualified to give the treatment here suggested? Should these instructions be attempted to be followed where she is, - if not, where should she be taken? Is she being treated fairly where she now is? How can the doctors be persuaded to give her the treatment? How will it be possible to tell whether the doctors are following these treatments or carrying out their own ideas?
