This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3368], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Mass.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity, [3368] nee [3368]. Born October 5, 1904, in Boston, Mass. The entity, now … St., …, Mass., seeks a Mental and Spiritual Reading, with information, advice and guidance as to her latent and manifested abilities and how she may make best use of them in the present. You will then answer any questions that may be submitted:

2. EC: Yes, we have these vibrations, those conditions that go to make the entity - in spirit, in mind, in body - now called [3368].

3. In giving that which may be a helpful influence for the entity, there are many conditions to be considered. There are abilities, there are such vibrations with this body that the entity may use those influences within self for the benefit of others. As to how the entity may apply same to the best advantage, for self and for others, may be a question.

4. As to setting rules and regulations, as to just how this may be applied, is not to be given from here - other than as to that which would be ideal, or the standard from which such may be drawn, according to these sources of suggestion to this body.

5. The answer must be within self. Thus we would give this for this entity, and these are the premises from which such should be drawn:

6. The entity finds itself a body, a mind, a soul. The entity has urges that are physical, mental, spiritual. If the entity has attuned self to the infinite - in spirit or in soul, and in mind and body - so that the source of supply allows energies to come through the body, these may be applied through the activities of the body by suggestion as well as through radiation from the magnetism of the body itself.

7. If the source of supply, then, is to be from the spiritual life, the mental life and the spiritual attributes are in accord with the spiritual light, the mental application, it will be well for this body.

8. If the body in self is allowed to take on the condition and to be giving out those activities that are from other sources than the spiritual self, then it will become harmful for the body.

9. Then, there should ever be kept that attitude first of self, that if self is correct in its own ideals, in its own physical being of body and mind, then the spirit may flow through thee and bring healing influences and helpful forces to others.

10. Thus may acute conditions as well as those of a more general nature be materially aided, or even those that become constitutional; by the body raising the vibration of itself and transmitting same through radiation by the hands of the body. Do not attempt to use centers, segments or the structural portions, unless the body considers also that the anatomical structure of the body must be entirely understood. For, applying such would then become dangerous, unless there is the full comprehension, physically, mentally, spiritually of such structure, such functioning, such activities of a body.

11. If the body finds in these, that which answers from within self, use it. If the body chooses to do otherwise, it is privileged to do so and pay the penalty.

12. Ready for questions.

13. (Q) How should I go about to follow these directions? (A) First find self, self’s relationship to Creative Forces or God. Find that answer within self as to when, where and how there may be such administrations. Then physically, mentally, live it in self.

14. (Q) Any other advice? (A) This is a mouthful if you will only use it.

Dear Miss Davis,

The work of the Association must be piling up dreadfully with Mr. Cayce away, and with even fewer hands to deal with it.

I should like very much to be of assistance and can so arrange things that I can be at Virginia Beach for periods up to three weeks at a time though I would have to return to Cambridge in between times.

If such help would do you any good I should be delighted to come and discuss the matter with you. I do not wish to be paid for any work I may be able to do for the Association.

Dear Mrs. [3368]

The delay in answering your letter has been caused by the fact that I’ve had to take a week out of the office to get the house ready for Mr. Cayce’s return. Mrs. Cayce brought him home in an ambulance last Thursday from Roanoke, Va., where they had been for the last three months. He had shown decided improvement in the last few days. We are much better equipped to follow his treatments here and I believe he will continue to improve much faster here where those who love him dearly can come to see him from day to day. After Christmas if he is strong enough, Mrs. Cayce might go to Florida with him for a while.

I appreciate more than I can say your offer to come help us in the office. There is always plenty to do and we need help badly, but it is rather hard to outline just what is needed. As you suggest, I believe the best way is for you to come and see for yourself just the problems to be met and help us decide how best to meet them. One of our active members [Lydia J. Schrader Gray] is coming the first of the year to set up residence here for two or three months, with the idea of helping in any way she can. There is no limit, really, to the work to be done. We just need planning and volunteers to “take over” the various activities as they are planned. At the present time I am so swamped with the daily mail and the gathering of material for Mr. Sugrue from the files, that I find it hard to think clearly in regard to the many other phases of the Association’s program. I am hoping that Mr., Cayce’s son will soon be home to take up his duties as general manager for the whole.

Please let me know when it will be possible for you to come and talk with me, so I’ll be on hand - though I’ll probably be right here any time you might happen to come. And thanks a million.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

I have not answered your letter of June 23, 1943, until now because I could not tell, at that time, where I would be on November 12, 1943 at 10:30, the time you have set aside for my Mental and Spiritual Reading.

My correct name and my present address are at the heading of this letter and I will be a that place for the Reading.

The questions I want to ask are:

1. Have I really any curative powers?
2. If I have, should I do anything about it and, if so, what?

I cannot tell you how impatiently I have awaited the time for my Reading. I am praying that God will help you to see clearly and me to understand and follow what you see.
