This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the mother Mrs. [..], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., via Mr. G. Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Illinois.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3370].

3. Now as we find, while there are many conditions that are very good, there are specific disturbances here that may - or may not - prove to be detrimental to the better physical forces of this body in this experience.

4. In the circulation between the liver and the kidneys, from the period of gestation, there have been those disturbances that have given rise to the forming of a tumor in the kidney area. Both kidneys are involved to some extent, one a great deal more than the other.

5. Ordinarily, because of improper application as for diet and such - this condition becomes of such a nature as to be consuming within itself, or of a malignant nature. This need not necessarily be true here - if there is the application of that which through radiation, or absorption and radiation, will keep the area tending towards an alkalinity; and then the adding of those vibrations through the radiation from the Ultra-Violet, with the projection of the green glass between it and the body.

6. To be sure, these radiations by some are termed to be of such refractory that the value of electrical forces is eliminated. But those coming to such conclusions do not consider that all vibration, color, and color with radiation - that is the aid here - is to set the vibrations in the body for body-forces; and this body is in the developing stage, or that stage of growth - physical, mental and spiritual. This vibration of the Ultra-Violet is as a “seeking out” in the body. In bodies of a varied vibration, where there are such conditions as here, the Ultra-Violet without the green light might be helpful. But in most instances where there is needed a change in vibration, the projection of a green light is preferable - because green is the healing vibration. Here, in the character or nature of disturbance where there is the formation of that which is any malignant nature, the green light will be more effective than even that of a more penetrating nature, or even the x-ray - that destroys tissue, but not being enabled to eliminate that destroyed, tends to come back upon itself after certain radiations. Some forms of such might be aided if radium with its extra vibrations were added to that of the destructive nature.

7. But do not administer here other than the Ultra-Violet - the Mercury Light, with the green glass projected between the body and the Light. Have the Light at least thirty-seven to thirty-eight inches from the body, and the green glass about fourteen inches from the body. Use for only a minute and a half, about twice each week.

8. At least three times a week apply the Glyco-Thymoline Packs over the kidney area.

9. Once each week do give the body internally a small quantity of Plantain Tea. Use the tender Plantain leaves, and make the Tea fresh whenever practical. Give a teaspoonful of this once each week. It would be prepared in this manner: Put two pinches of the Plantain leaves (between thumb and forefinger) in a cup and pour a tablespoon of boiling water over same and let stand for thirty minutes. Then strain and give a teaspoonful. The rest may be kept for another teaspoonful the next week, but don’t let it stand longer. Keep in the icebox or frozen, when this is being kept for the next dose.

10. In the matter of the diet - keep away from sweets. Do give the gelatin that is active with the body forces - not sweetened but the plain Knox gelatin.

11. Do give all of those things that add to body building forces. A very small quantity occasionally of Beef Juice would be very helpful for the body, but never any meats themselves. Give only two or three sips of the Beef Juice at the time. That doesn’t mean spoonsful either, but two or three sips.

12. A teaspoonful of the gelatin would be sufficient, after it is dissolved and congealed.

13. The Glyco-Thymoline Packs would be given not on the same days that the Light treatments are given. Give these regular temperature, not warming the Glyco-Thymoline - that is, not applying heat.

14. Do these - we may destroy entirely the condition which apparently would hinder.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) Are the green light treatments and the Glyco-Thymoline Packs the right ones, and will they completely do away with these tumors? (A) Follow those directions as just given here. Almost correctly.

17. (Q) Will he completely recover from this and be well the rest of his life, or will there be a recurrence? (A) This is like asking will tomorrow ever come. This depends upon the reaction. Remember, keep a lot of prayer with this. For, who healeth all thy diseases? From whence cometh the strength of body, mind and soul? Make intercession often, but live just like ye pray.

18. (Q) Would an operation do any good? (A) More apt to be harmful than good.

19. (Q) Would Dr. Kobak’s machine be helpful? (A) Well, you can use this if you wish - but don’t use these things suggested here, if you do.

20. (Q) Can a malignant tumor be liquidated other than by surgery? (A) If it couldn’t, we wouldn’t have made these suggestions! Do these things as given. Do keep the faith in Him, who healeth all thy troubles.

21. We are through with this reading.

R1. 12/20/43 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…The question about Dr. Kobak’s machine being used and of benefit and the answer being yes, naturally Dr. Kobak wanted to use his instrument. We decided on giving it a go as long as the reading said we could. We have, to date, had ten treatments, four the first week and three a week thereafter, and already we have some good results. This tumor had grown so that it could be felt way over the middle of his stomach and now that has diminished. What it’s doing, I believe, is localizing. Anyway, it’s very encouraging and my son is in excellent physical condition - no colds and no flu, which is rampant around here. Dr. Kobak says he has lost the yellowish look around his eyes, but that I had never noticed. I am absolutely following the reading on the diet - no sweets, no meat and we have been giving the beef juice as directed. I am so sure we are going to beat this thing and we owe all our renewed strength to you - for you are the first to give us new hope…”

R2. 3/17/44 Letter from Phyllis Goodall, R.N.: ”…[[3370]‘s mother] got in touch with me to tell me how well the baby is doing under Dr. Kobak’s care. She is so grateful to you and the marvelous work you are doing for so many troubled bodies and souls. Today I am going in to see Dr. Kobak - he has sent for me. The mother says the baby has gained weight, is full of pep and fun and in all ways appears to be normal. Apparently the tumors above the kidneys are atrophying and giving no more trouble. However, he is still being treated with the remarkable radio machine…”

R3. 4/18/44 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…It’s been several weeks now since I had the very great pleasure of meeting Miss Goodall. She was so very kind - called me on the phone and the next Saturday she came over to the hospital at the time my son was to have his treatment. As she has no doubt told you, she was amazed at how well my son looked and acted. We are taking three treatments a week with Dr. Kobak’s machine and there is no doubt my son is holding his own. There have been no new X-rays of his ‘innards’ but certainly this ‘thing’ has not grown any that we can see, and his physical condition is excellent. He is still a very hearty eater and since these treatments has become a good sleeper. He used to waken so many times during the night and was quite restless. He is growing as he should and is of average height and weight. He will be two next month. So you see, we have made great strides since I last wrote. …Our faith grows stronger… My husband is in the Pacific now…”

R4. 12/15/50 GD’s note: Miss Phyllis Goodall, a trained nurse interested in EC’s work, reported that the famous Dr. Kobak who was treating the baby [3370] had been somewhat interested in EC’s work as a result of reading TIR, but when he saw the above treatment [3370-1] he felt it was quite silly - that no possible good could come from the ultra-violet with the green glass between it and the body…

B1. 10/10/43 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…Just a month ago today, Mr. Bunting brought me over to see you and I told you about my little boy. You prescribed for him from another case similar to his, a green glass and Ultra Violet ray with a Mercury light. When I got home, I told my doctor of you and he said he would try it if I wanted to. So I immediately sent for the green glass from the company that you recommended and after a wait of two weeks the glass finally arrived and we got started. You said every ten days, so to date we have had two. The X-ray doctor has been simply marvelous about cooperating, he even measures the distance of the glass with a tape. Last week they called a conference of six of Chicago’s most famous and best medical men and all of them are of the opinion that an operation would absolutely do no good at all. They call my son’s trouble a bi-lateral Wilm’s tumor. The two doctors I have been most associated with have never seen a case of this sort, never a double one, but they have both seen many single ones. In other words, these men feel there isn’t a thing to do but give up, - but not the X-ray doctor, who next to you has been the only one to give us any encouragement whatsoever. Then about two weeks ago my husband came to see you. Whether he told you I had been to see you so you could connect us, I don’t know, but to him, you said to try Glyco-Thymoline packs and see a Dr. Saxmann. Won’t you please try and tell me how long before we can expect some reaction to the other treatments. I have been applying the Glyco-Thymoline packs but I don’t feel I should see Dr. Saxmann until we have expended the other possibility. We want to do everything just right and leave no stone unturned. Is there any chance that you could give me a special reading for my child? I know this is asking a lot for you are so but all the doctors do agree that this thing may break and if it does then we are lost. We are to have our next treatment next Saturday, so if you could let me know a little more definitely what to do, I should be so grateful…”

B2. 10/43 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…We had our third treatment last Saturday and I will continue the hot packs. The baby is in grand condition and has a tremendous appetite which makes all this more mystifying, for he has no sick symptoms anywhere…”

B3. 10/28/43 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…We are continuing the treatments you recommended, green glass, and mercury X-ray lamp plus the hot Glyco-Thymoline packs each evening. He has had four treatments each ten days apart. The hot packs have certainly made him sleep better as now he goes through the whole night without waking and before I always had to change him at least once and sometimes twice. What I would like to know is: Are these treatments the right ones and will they completely do away with these tumors?… As I said before the surgeons have given him up. They say there is nothing they can do as an operation won’t do a bit of good as the other side will grow as soon as the left kidney is removed.

B4. 11/14/43 Letter from [3370]‘s mother: ”…Dr. Kobak, here in … at the Presbyterian Hospital who is giving these treatments, has a new machine that he has done some wonderful things with… He is a man who is having the same difficulty you are, getting people to believe in him even his colleagues don’t put too much faith in him. But even at that, he is succeeding…”
