This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 29th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet.

Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, California. (The following information came at the end of another reading without the suggestion being given by Mrs. Cayce).

1. EC: Now we have the body, [3378], …, California.

2. As we find, conditions are very serious.

3. As for material aid, there may be added that which will only assist in attuning the body to those vibrations that are accorded in the supplications and prayers of those dear ones about this body.

4. Then prepare this physically. This is not to be construed as a cure, but as an assistance in aiding the body to find healing for the lungs - that are being gradually dissipated by the infectious forces, or the nature of sarcoma infection in body:

5. Prepare Plantain. Cut with scissors, not the heavy leaves but the tender portion of Plantain in very small pieces or strips. Prepare about a pint of same by measure, when cut, and pack into a pint container. Put this quantity in a pint of cream, poured from milk that has settled. Let this be heated and then spread on gauze. Apply front and back, over the lungs. Change this at least once each day when practical.

6. Do apply about twice each week the Ultra-Violet Light with the green glass projected between the body and the Light; the Light about thirty-seven inches from the body (only the Mercury Light being used), the green glass fourteen inches from the body. Apply this a minute or a minute and a half at the most. This apply, if possible, to the frontal portion of the body, shading the eyes with the leaden pieces, even for the moment.

7. Do that and keep the prayers, keep the hopes.

R4. 12/4/43 EC’s ltr.: “Replying to your wire, I think you will have no trouble obtaining the Plantain for it is a common weed. The ultra-violet with the green glass, as I suggested, if you would get in touch with our friend in Palo Alto [Mrs. [757]], I am sure she would be glad to give you her experience, where this was to be used for her. Know I will be anxious to know if there is any help brought for Mrs. [3378].

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach

Dear Mr. Cayce:

May my desperate self together with a deserving mother impose upon your attention, for which we have confidence you can help us. This is not test of your power for my faith has already been proven when I have asked three different churches for their prayers.

For your information my wife was a healthy woman 42 years old and worked in an office. She has worked all her life, first to put our children through college, then to be able to help her parents who would need it in their advanced years, and I will say she has always been one to worry.

Two years ago she noticed a lump in her left breast and ten days later saw a doctor who after taking test pronounced it cancer and after a short time we engaged the interest of a delph sergent who said we had come to him in the earliest stages and he would operate. Removing to left breast, [3378] picked up weight and had her old pep back and was on the job for almost two years.

I have not been the best husband for which my wife credits me, but do not think me to have been the worse. However I felt the need of our country and enlisted in the navy, sending the money home etc. Now [3378] office installed an air conditioner in the office and a blessing in disguise discharged me from the navy. When I came home I found her unwell and a trip to the doctor told us she had pleurisy and after a month a biopsy was taken and a “Button” test made which I told, there were tumors on the lung and that my wife would die within a year. You can readily understand my having take our troubles up with some twenty doctors and all have shaken their heads and simply say take codeine pills and deaden the pain.

Ashamed of my-self for having neglecting my God I begged his forgiveness and behaving surely some ones prayers would be answered I asked the prayers of the Catholic, Jew and Episcopal churches. My wife continued to sink and I felt I had not yet reached the proper help so asked the head of Christ Church of unity, we were not reached through them (3 visits) so asked help of Science and Mind, likewise we have had several christian science. All this time my wife is failing and her pains increased due to the fact no doubt that some of these good people insisted she not take any pills.

My faith in God is still unshaken and I want to say I have made extensive searched in the library’s and any thing else I can get, all information gained to me was no better than I out of a good dictionary, which had its value too.

I feel I have been blessed by running across this article in Coronet which was published last September.

In your youth you wanted most to be able to do for others and it is quite natural that God would favor you in preference to some one selfish like me, and knowing the doctors will not try to prescribe any thing leaves me with a disgust with their inability.

We have two daughters and my wife wants to live so much, and last Saturday the doctor said he thought she would leave us about December this year. They are not interested in her diet, or any vitamin shots, just codeine pills. PLEASE PLEASE HELP US tho I know you must have many to look after.
