This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of May, 1933, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [338], Associate Member of the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relationships with the universe, and universal forces - that are latent and manifested in the personality of the present entity, known as - or called - [338].

2. In entering the present experience, we would find from the astrological aspects those influences that do not altogether conform to what is ordinarily given from an astrological presentation; while those that have to do with the astrological as to the numerological would conform more to the impulses of the body, or entity, in the present experience.

3. From the astrological viewpoint we would find indications that there would be required BUSINESS activities about the body, with little conformity to rule or rote; yet from the numerological we find (as shown or manifested in the experience) one precise, one following minute detail, one that expects definite results from definite activities on the part of individuals, groups and relations; yet these conflicting emotions make for periods where individuals have attempted, from their associations and connections, to insist that the body engage rather in a sphere of activity towards a career of self, than in so much the routine or home. Hence we find these influences as active in the affairs of the entity.

4. From the planetary or environmental sojourns of the entity, other than in earth, we find these run rather true to form with planetary influence; than that given in some directions from astrological data. Hence we find Jupiter as the RULING influence in the present, making for those abilities in expansion of mental and material conditions about the body; that is, in any environ in which the body may find self it is capable of ADJUSTING self to those conditions, bringing with this environ the associations and connections with large deals in business relations, large amounts of moneys, conditions that are of vital importance to groups and to individuals, that require the activity of the body itself in its relations to be very definite, very active, very accurate in its associations. And the entity may be said to be one of her sex (and there are few) that may keep a secret!

5. With these relations there is also brought, rather than large holdings of self, the ability to use that which comes into the possession in material ways and manners to the best possible advantage in furthering the ideas and ideals of the body; though to some (that may be said to be close to the activities of the entity) there have been periods when the body has been called (in this experience we are speaking of) rather inclined to be extravagant in self, in relations, in the general conditions.

6. In the last few years, or particularly beginning from the latter portion of 1931, these Jupiterian influences have brought rather a settling, or a routine activity that has become more of the stabilizing effect upon the entity in the present experience.

7. With the added influence that has come, and that will come from the sojourn or impulses received from sojourn in the environs of Uranus, there will be made those opportunities for decided change (in the coming fall, this year) in the activities from the mental as well as from the material associations of the body; dependent upon what the entity does with the knowledge and understanding that will have by that period become rather a portion of the mental being of entity, and as to whether from then it will be development or retardment to the soul forces will depend upon the will of the entity itself.

8. Uranus makes for those impulses, then, where the entity has been called rather radical in thought, rather radical in activity, radical in associations. This has been rather the judgement of the associates or connections, than might have been expected were the activities considered from a sane analysis of the entity’s activity, not considering that there were those environs in which some had expected - or do expect - definite stands to be taken.

9. For, as given, from Jupiter there becomes the ability for a broader vision than is ordinary. Hence the activities are not to be judged by one individual, but the results that may accrue from the activities of the entity.

10. Also from those astrological influences in Venus and Uranus, we find those strange associations at times in the relations of the affections of the body. [GD’s note: We assumed that Mrs. [338] was a divorcee rather than a widow, though we never heard any details of her married life which took place prior to her interest in A.R.E. Later she took back her maiden name and called herself “Miss,” and not “Mrs.”] Hence to some these have not always been understood, yet the abilities and the sincere activities of the entity have been - are, through this experience - that making for rather the development of the soul and mental forces of the body.

11. From the astrological influences ordinarily seen from what is called Sun or Moon’s influence upon the entity, an unusual aspect presents itself; not only from the time or the day of week, but from the astrological aspects the entity may be truly said to be (though often misjudged by others) the same morning, noon and night in impulse! and this can be said about very few!

12. As to the activities and impulses that come from the sojourns in the earth plane, and those appearances of the entity, these have had - and will have, as we find - much to do with the mental attitudes, or that which has been held as INNATE in the experience of the entity. Often from duty (which would come under Jupiter, Uranus, and even Venus) there is brought periods when the activity OUTWARDLY does not always conform to that held INWARDLY. This would appear to be contradictory to some of the impulses that have been given, or some of those things that are innate as experiences of the entity; yet if they are studied as a whole this will be understood, for we must remember that we are speaking from - or the influences ARE the numerological, as associated with astrological, rather than the astrological as governed by experiences in numerological influences. Hence there is made a variation that is NOT contradictory.

13. As to the appearances, then, and their influence upon the entity in the present experience:

14. In the one before this we find the entity was in and about (or not far distant, and gradually came to) that sojourn or environ in which the entity began this present experience, during those periods when there were persecutions of a thought because of the speech of those as relating to that which came as visions, or as thoughts, or as directing influences in the activities of individuals.

15. The entity then was an individual of the opposite sex, in the directing of those in an ecclesiastical court; not what would be termed today the minister in church, but rather the director or CONTROLLER of the minister in church - as would be termed - in Salem and its environs, in the name Boodie.

16. Then the entity gained and lost; gained through the assistance and aid given to many that were persecuted for the convictions in their own conscience, yet the entity lost in holding grudges at times when those that persecuted became so violent.

17. Hence in the present there are those tendencies that make for worriments, as to those experiences of others into a realm where it appears to the entity that many - in the field of activity for spiritual truths - preach one thing and practice another. Not that these are held as grudges by the entity, but through the experience the entity becomes a good hater as well as a good friend; for in these there must be builded that which the entity in the present may do about ideals, and ideal associations and relations. 18. In the one before this we find the entity was in that land now known as the Persian, during those periods when there were the real establishings by great numbers, those that came for the truths that were presented by the teacher in the hills and in the desert land.

19. The entity then was among those that were called heathen, or of the Grecian land. Hence beauty of body, beauty of thought, the revelling in beautiful expressions - whether they may be presented in the present in sculpture, in paintings, in nature, or in WHATEVER form; for THESE were the truths that were made a portion of the entity’s experiences in its association with Uhjltd in that experience. For, beauty in all its forms becomes appealing to the entity.

20. In the present, as an artist the entity might have made advances that would have brought many a change, and many an environ that would have been of a developing period for those to whom the entity contacted during that experience.

21. There comes in the present that which is innate, and that finds expression in the inner self of the entity, as to the manner in which the entity may put into few words those things that will present many a phase of beauty, or art, that is not conceived, seen or understood by those even about the entity.

22. From that experience also may come those understandings, that deal with those of the Uranian influences, for with the changes that come materially in the experience of the entity - as to the choosing of those as presented from the spiritual influences, in the beauty of the activity towards individuals, towards groups or towards conditions - in the present experience the entity may find that period when more definite stands are to be taken, even in the next two years.

23. In the one before this we find the entity was in that land during those periods when there was the changing of those peoples from the Egyptian land to the eastern lands, when there was the descending of those peoples from the mounts in India.

24. The entity then was among the Indians that were sent to the Egyptian land for the study of those customs, those periods, those lands, that were being presented at that time. Ra-Ta period?]

25. Also the entity, then in the name Caphat, journeyed to that land which was later submerged Atlantis?]; and the entity gained through the experience, in the arts of those peoples, in the commercial, the social, and those that added to the comfort of the home, those that added to the abilities of making associations, communications and connections with those peoples in distant quarters.

26. Hence there has ever been, even in the present experience, many material things that - owing to the sex, owing to the relations - have been submerged; for the entity has had many things that it MIGHT have brought forward as patents, even (and in which money might have been made) for the presenting or preserving of relationships in communications with individuals in various quarters of a universe.

27. From this period there is made the present relationships of the entity, in its everyday activity.

28. As to the abilities of the entity, and that to which it may attain in the present, and how:

29. These, as we find from the experience both from the mental plane in the sojourns and from the activities in the earth, have been varied; yet there comes soon - as we have given - that period when the mental and the material may be joined in one for the activities of the entity, in presenting or preserving - for those that may come - those lessons and truths that were gained in the various activities, those that have been gained through the study, through the sojourn of the entity in the present; for THESE may be made through the coordinating of man’s mental abilities with the spiritual oneness of the influences IN the entity’s activities. Now - or the present, the past and the future - they are One! In one!

30. Hence, study first to show self approved unto Him from whence all power emanates, realizing that each activity that becomes manifest in the earth is a reflection (and not the thing itself) OF that One Power. For, man’s MENTAL being may only take hold upon that power which emanates from Creative Forces themselves. Hence it is ever high, yet becomes manifest in that individuals do and create IN the lives of their associates through the mental and material contact.

31. Keep true, then, to self; setting the ideal in Him that is the pattern, AFTER the pattern SHOWN thee in the mount!

32. Be NOT overcome by censure, nor too easily guided by public opinion. Harken more to those periods when, in vision, in dream, there is presented to self that which opens more and more the mental associations of self with the Creative influences in the world. For, God IS! Ye that seek Him may find Him, for His ways are not past finding out to those who put their trust in Him!

I am sure it will be most helpful to her and seems to be just what she needs at this time to help her understand herself and her possibilities. She also wrote me after attending the meeting in N.Y. and told me how much she enjoyed it, and particularly meeting you. She was very much impressed with the sincerity and cordial atmosphere. You have rendered her a great service through the rdg., and we are looking forward to the changes mentioned therein. I was particularly interested in the distinction made between the astrological and numerological influences, as that to me is still a vital interest although dormant or inactive for the present.” [See 256-1, etc.]

“She has started to do some painting, which she has always had the urge to do, although untrained, and I think that is the result of her understanding herself a little more as the result of her Life Rdg. She spends most of her spare time now before a canvas, with her artist’s smock, and she may yet do some creative work. It will be interesting to see how it works out.”
