This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at home of the David E. Kahns, 44 W. 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 19th day of July, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self, through Miss [243], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 12:20 to 12:30 Noon Daylight Savings Time. …, Tenn. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes. Yes, we find the conditions which, as we have given, are rather acute at the present time.

2. We would begin immediately with a quarter teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth, with three to five drops Lactated Pepsin in same. Also continue with the use of the oil packs Castor Oil Packs - see 340-25.] as we have indicated, over the colon-abdominal area; using also the enemas to reduce the temperature, and the nausea will abate with the use of those properties given.

3. We will find it necessary that the stimulation through food would be rather with the pre-digested foods and the beef juices; foods that are already digested. These will be the more helpful for the body. We would do this. Ready for questions.

4. (Q) How often should the Milk of Bismuth be given, and how long continued? (A) Every three hours apart; until there is an abating of the temperature and the pains through the colon and abdominal area.

5. (Q) Should all other treatments prescribed be continued? (A) Be continued; principally, though, the oil packs over the colon, the liver, the caecum, with the SALTS packs as indicated over the kidney area; that the inflammation in the bladder and kidney area may be abated.

About two to three of the enemas; high enemas, to reduce the temperature. Of course, keep the head and back of neck bathed off often with the alcohol.

6. (Q) How long should the oil packs be kept on at a time? (A) Two and a half to three hours.

7. (Q) Any other suggestions for this body at this time? (A) Be mindful of the diet; this is the principal thing. As indicated, it is necessary for stimulation, but it should be pre-digested foods, to keep down the inflammation through the colon and the stomach.

Three to five drops Lactated Pepsin in quarter teaspoonful Milk Bismuth three hours apart. Continue packs. Enemas. Beef juices and only predigested foods. Full report special. Edgar Cayce. Collect Card #3353.

R2. 7/24/34 Mrs. [340]‘s letter: “This is the first time I have been able to sit up long enough to write you since you gave my last rdg. May God bless you for being so good to me. I don’t believe I could have survived much longer if I hadn’t received the last information when I did. As you can see from the information [340-26] I was desperately sick. As bad as I was, I was checked in about 48 hrs., and I am still on the predigested and beef juice diet. But this 110 or 112 temperature doesn’t help me get my strength back very fast. I’m still taking the Castor Oil Packs, also Salts Packs, in spite of the hot weather, but I feel the oil packs are really removing the cause. From the way I have been feeling, there was a very great obstacle that needed removing.

“I’m so afraid to make a move unless the rdg. tells me what to do - may I ask you again for further guidance? I don’t know what diet I should go on now, and I’m afraid as weak as I am and as hot as it is, it wouldn’t take much to throw me back where I was…

“After my first rdg. came [340-25] I started the treatments at once, but I felt so much better that I ate things I shouldn’t have - such as wheat cereal (cooked), cooked egg, baked potato, spinach juice. That was all light, I thought, but it was not light enough for me. So you can understand why I’m afraid to eat anything, and I know I must have something for strength. I can scarcely walk across the floor
