Protestant) This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of December, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3400], via his sister, new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes. As we find the acute conditions that arise at times come from those pressures that exist in portions of the alimentary canal, colon especially. These seem far removed from the pain in the 5th nerve and in the head, but if there will be taken consistently sufficient colonics to cleanse or purify the colon thoroughly, we will see quite a change.

3. Also we would use the Radio-Active Appliance as an equalizer of energies through the extremities of the body.

4. And these, unless there is too great a strain by inconsistency in the diet, will correct these conditions.

5. When the pains become acute, through the periods that these directions are being followed, relax the body osteopathically - and greater relaxation may be had by putting the body on its face, pressing on the nerve centers on either side of the end of the coccyx, pressing upward, and at the same time pressing on either side of the 3rd cervical. See, these connect. They are the areas that come under distress through the reflexes from the tensions in the alimentary canal.

7. Then, in the life purpose - be serious with self. Are you living the purposeful life that you would have others to see? This is not a questioning of you. The question is in self! For each soul gives account for the deeds done in the body. Each soul gives account of the deeds done in the body!

8. To whom do they account? The divine within their own selves!

9. And then do you wonder that you have aches and pains, troubles and worries? You are meeting your own self.

10. Thy labors are well.

11. Keep them in that way of doing that you would have others do to you. Give your office something to be proud of, by the manner in which ye treat those serviced from there.

R1. 1/10/44 His sister wrote: “The minute I first talked to you on the phone, I got in touch with Dr. Dick as you suggested. I was there in her office when she telephoned you. In fact I had the money for that person to person call ready as she made it. And I was shocked to hear her say with such casualness that the patient was better. True he had just gone through a series of her splendid (but so expensive) treatments and the attack had worn down. There is always an end to every attack.

“But Dr. Dick would be the first to tell you that the improvement was very temporary. That night he had one of the most terrible series of attacks he had yet had, and there has been little respite since.”

R2. 1/20/44 He wrote: “I am delighted to learn that you will be able to give me another reading on January 23rd, Sunday, between 3:30-4:30 P.M. As instructed in your letter I am listing below the pertinent questions which I desire to ask: What is wrong with my body? How can I cure the illness or correct the trouble? Is there a specific connection between the headaches, the asthma and the bronchial trouble? Is any of this trouble due to allergy?

“According to the splendid suggestion of your letter, Mr. Cayce, I had a long conference with my doctor, Dr. Marion Dick [D.O.], to whom you recommended me. She requests that you answer these questions for her regarding my condition: What mental factor is responsible for the disturbance in the subject’s head? Is this a case of migraine headache or trigeminal neuralgia (tic douloureux)? Are these symptoms in the nature of a conversion neurosis? If so, what can be done? Is the fact that his wife is working a disturbing factor? Have you any recommendation as to the type of work the subject should do in order to be most successful and contented?

“Thank you.”

R3. 1/23/44 EC gave him a Ck. Rdg. 3400-2 advising him to follow the treatment which had been recommended, to get at the seat of the trouble.

“I know how busy you are but I hope you will forgive me for calling about Mr. [3400]. He was in agony. I have never seen such suffering.”
