This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of March, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [341].

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same, and you will answer the questions regarding this that I will ask you.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before. Now, we find there are changes in the physical forces of the body at the present from that as we have had before. Those conditions as exist with the eyes, we find these have gradually bettered, save when there has arisen in the physical forces of the body that which has hindered the eliminations. Naturally, with the incorrect condition, and with eliminations hindered, the body experiences some trouble with the reaction to the eyes. This, we find, will be overcome when the eliminations are set near normal again, and with the general improvement these conditions will show the betterment as is taking place.

3. In those specific centers where the troubles arise, through the dullness, the laggardness, the tendency for headaches, the slow reaction in response to effort of study, the slow reaction as is seen in the activities of the body, comes from the torpid liver condition, and from that comes the congestion through the mesenteric system, and especially through the absorption and re-absorption of toxins from constipation, as produced by the non-activity of these conditions.

4. To overcome or to meet these conditions, then, at the present time, we would prepare and take as this:

5. Three (3) doses should be prepared, and should be taken with one day between each dose, see? preferably taken in the evening. This as the dose - prepared in capsule:

Podophyllum…1/2 grain, Leptandrin…1 grain, Sanguinaria…1 grain, Senna…1/2 grain, Cascara Sagrada…1/2 grain.

6. Before this is taken the body should drink considerable amount of water, and while this is acting through system the body should take water - considerable water. The body, you see, doesn’t drink enough water, and the water does not agree entirely with the body, the way it has been taken. More would flush the system better. The general condition of the body will show improvement, though this will produce nausea - and possibly some little temperature at the time the first dose is taken, but KEEP THESE UP, and take them all THREE (3), for the system must be cleansed.

7. Do not eat any HEAVY food while these are being taken, see? Do not eat too much meats at any time, until the system is better adjusted, or very little meats, see? and not ANY hog meat - unless crisp breakfast bacon. Rather that of soups, cereals, milk, eggs, and those of that nature. This will bring the more normal and better condition for the body.

8. To keep the liver active, and to keep the system in the general bettered condition, more activity of the torso and central portion of body necessary, see? That circular swinging motion. Also same would be well for the head and neck. Take regular exercises of forward, backward, circular motion, side to side, see? of at least four or five times each evening. Preferably, all these exercises should be taken just before retiring. These other than the regular exercise. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) After the three capsules have been taken, one day apart, should the system be flushed with any other medicine, such as salts, or so forth? (A) If sufficient quantity of water is taken, this not necessary. If it is NOT taken, then would be necessary for salts and soda - or soda alone may be taken.

10. (Q) How much water should the body drink each day? (A) At least half to three-quarters of a gallon during the day.

11. (Q) Are the glasses suited to the eyes? (A) Will be when these corrections are made. There is produced blur and glimmer at times, and the eyes burn at times. Now these are from poisons in system, and non-eliminations. The eyes are better in the general way. Will not be many months - in at least three to four months - until the glasses should be changed, see?

R1. 3/30/27 Our English frat. had a fine banquet the other night. I had a very pleasant evening. Funny, though, I forgot about it and ate supper, then went down there at 8 o’clock and had chicken, potatoes, peas, salad, hot rolls, nuts, mints, another salad, cream, cake and coffee… Have been eating heavily of late. Had a wonderful feed out at … at reading club Sun. night…sandwiches, candy, cheese, nuts, cake, tea, pie, pickle, crackers, etc. I am taking a bit of Epsom tonight.”
