This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of March, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother, […], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.) [3419]”s mother.]

Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes - we have the body; this we have had before.

  3. As we find in many respects there have been improvements. Yet with the cold and congestion and the bronchial inflammation the conditions are not good in the present.

  4. There needs to be the increasing of the eliminations and the use of those measures to reduce temperature and to relieve the congestion in bronchi and lungs.

  5. Over the bronchial and lung area, front and back, apply an equal combination of mutton tallow (melted), turpentine and camphor. Massage this over the bronchi and lungs and on the back also, at least once each day.

  6. Also of evenings when prepared for bed, saturate a flannel cloth with this mixture and apply front and back. It would be well to put this on and let it remain, but do after the pack each morning give the massage again with the mixture.

  7. Do increase the circulation and elimination with Caldwell’s Syrup of Pepsin given in broken doses.

  8. To facilitate eliminations or to aid through the abdominal and liver area, apply not constantly but keep a cloth over the abdomen with Glyco-Thymoline in same. Apply the mutton tallow, turpentine and camphor mixture in place of the Glyco-Thymoline Pack over the bronchi and back, but do give a few drops of Glyco-Thymoline in water each day - not more than three drops in the amount of water that would be taken for the day.

  9. When the body is prepared for rest, do bathe along the spine with a weak solution of grain alcohol to reduce temperature; not rub alcohol. Use about twenty drops of grain alcohol to two tablespoonsful of water.

  10. Give very small quantities of Beef Juice to strengthen the body; two to three drops at a time about three to four times a day; this put in water, of course, so as not to strangle the body as it sips it.

  11. Do these if we would bring helpful forces for the body.

  12. Ready for questions.

  13. (Q) What should be done to give her strength? (A) Best to get rid of the temperature first. Do bathe the spine of evenings with the grain alcohol solution. Do give the small quantities of Beef Juice.

  14. (Q) What has caused the high temperature for the last seven days? (A) Cold.

  15. (Q) Would osteopathic treatments help her? (A) The massage with the Mutton Tallow compound, that should be given by the mother or one close to the body, will be as helpful as the osteopath at the present time. Later this may be a help. This combination is massaged into the body, you see, and also the flannel is saturated with same - but be sure it is flannel.

  16. We are through with this reading.
