This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3435], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Born July 11, 1891, in Randers, Denmark. Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:35 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, New York.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. We have the records here of that entity now called [3435].

4. In analyzing this entity, many phases of the entity’s activity in the earth must be taken into consideration. Yet the entity is so filled with self and its purpose in the present that others and other activities mean little. For the entity is a realist; yet desiring that the realism be a helpful influence for the fellow man. This is well. But know that the spiritual, the soul, the life of any group or individual must be considered. As ye have experienced, as will be pointed out to you, it is only when a corporation or group has a soul that it becomes creative in the experience of others; as they apply it in their relationships one with another. This is true whether it be a partnership between two men, or a state or a nation.

5. The entity has ever been a politician and it would be well for thy ideas as to banking, or the activity of the state in its relationships with other nations, be taken into politics; but not in the present hubbub - unless it might be handled through one, through such an one that has been unjustly called a pacifist [Sen. Burton K. Wheeler?].

6. These are times and periods when such an entity may contribute much to the welfare of the nation that it would serve, or it can build such a house that will tumble about the heads of the builders, even when they have staked all of themselves or their means in material things.

7. For these are the urges as we find with this entity. Mars, Mercury. Jupiter is far in the background, but attempting to be smeared over all, for it pushes itself within the realm through the experiences of the entity in that environ.

8. The entity is very active, then. High mental ability, and those things of a political as well as economic nature have to do with the entity’s experience. These should be applied but with a spirit, with the soul “As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them - as ye sow, so shall ye reap.”

9. And forget not to read, not only read but put into all thy undertakings with thy fellow man, the 19th of Exodus and the 5th verse. Incorporate it in thy dealings with others, so far as ye have in this experience as well as in other sojourns as we shall see - ye have succeeded in making the world a better place in which to live.

10. As to the appearances in the earth:

11. Before this the entity was in the Roman land when it was on the increase and there were those activities in which other lands were being brought into the relationships as an empire. It was when those tenets or truths were being supplied to various groups that had various problems of their own, politically as well as economically, socially and religiously. These the entity attempted to correlate and to set the policies between the various groups of people, that would apply in their own peculiar field of activity.

12. This the entity did in the name Dellas. In the present study those tenets, those policies; not as displayed by those that were set high in authority and belittled themselves by their own egotism or their own selfish desires, but that were set in motion by the principles of the activities and the counselors (as the entity was then) to those set in authority in the second and third of the Caesars.

13. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian and Palestine land, when the first counselors were selected for Moses, Aaron and Joshua, and those that led the people to the promised land.

14. Then in the name Hur, the entity carried forward those activities in a manner bespeaking the keeping of a well organized effort on the part of the many groups, and even the personalities to be dealt with, even as indicated in Moses and Aaron and Miriam as well as Joshua and the sons of Korah and the rest of those leaders at that period.

15. Study those tenets also especially as indicated in Exodus 19:5. There is the basis, my friend, of those things in which ye may excel.

16. Before that the entity was in Atlantis, when there were those periods of disputation between the sons of Belial and the children of the Law of One.

17. The entity was among those that would use the spiritual things for material benefits, disregarding those tenets “As ye sow, ye must reap.”

18. The name then was Domar.

19. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain and how:

20. Too much might not be said as to the abilities of the entity in political and economic circles, in any land or in any relationships; provided it is dominated by the spirit of truth.

21. Keep the faith.

Thanks for the “reading”.

I am quite willing to contribute my $100- to the added association expenses but you may understand from the very “reading” sent me that I am single-purposed. In this case I must for reasons of what I am told in the message you brought

• reasons which you yourself would not understand - ask you for a “life reading” for […] of … Street BEFORE January 1st 1944.

He too will then become a member and make a like contribution.

This is, believe me, a request with a direct bearing on the impersonal side of the good work under way.

The message given me makes this contingent request rather imperative.

Dear Mr. [3435]

Thanks for yours of the third. I do hope that your reading will prove to be of a real help to you. I do know not just how that we can make an appointment for a life reading for Mr. […] before the first of January. We can’t, unless someone makes a cancellation. We couldn’t do it if he would pay one thousand dollars for the reading, because we just haven’t any periods and I just can’t cut someone else off to give you or your friend a reading. What I have promised, I have promised.

We are sending you the application blank, however. Please have him fill this out giving all the necessary information for a life reading, which is full name given at birth, place of birth, and date of birth.

If we can get it we will notify you. If we can’t, we can’t!

Dear Mr. Edgar Cayce,

This letter to you is a consequence of having read the book There is a River. In fact I have not read the last 75 pages or so.

To my point of view there are like some red threads running through the book and I feel prompted to call them to your attention as best I can.

I notice a complex of respect for established authority and effort to appease this authority and trivial intellectual idiocy. You need not attack them - but why pay any attention to them. Why care about what a superficial “outside”, one-sided mere opinionism thinks about you. It is immaterial.

Why let fear and faith clutter your understanding.

God, “The Source”, Life, or whatever name you think of, is free from false conceptions. You may give out “false money” and not know it, you may not know how to stop giving out “false money” but you can safely stamp anything you do not fully understand (without the shadow of a doubt and without the necessity of faith) as “false money” and you should have no hesitancy. It is certainly more desirable to give out “false money” and recognize it and at-least know what you are doing (or not doing). God knows and only God matters. You may know what I mean.

I am not speaking theoretically. Your experiences are in a sense deeply familiar to me, I feel them close to my “homeland”.

Why so much importance about healing people or about explaining symbols. Be. Do.

I too was quite confused about how to go about what was to be done. It almost drove me mad. I stumbled and fell again and again. To me the ancient sayings and writings are quite true, but they are like hay compared to the fresh living growth of Being, Doing those same eternal things right Now.

The major “thread” - if one only knew how to say it - has to do with AWARENESS, it has been called consciousness but that word does not seem suitable from my frame of reference.

There is the thread of crazy economic situations all through the book. That is the question that I tackled about ten years ago and have kept after ever since. I founded new banks with different mediums of exchange in several countries they still operate, in spite of the war. I have lived through similar experiences with “economics” as you have with your particular lot of authorities.

When selfish desires, personal cravings, entered it did not work, when not it did. A very religious man who once helped start one of these banks saw me eating bacon for breakfast and stopped in front of my table to say “Shame on you to eat animal food”, I replied that I thought that one thing worse was TO BE AFRAID of eating it. To my point of view the thing is to go on, attack, attack and pass through, sometime in rain, sometime in sunshine. Onward.

Action, not reaction and reflection, it is “hay” at the best. Some hay is bound to come along in the run.

It would be a great pleasure to meet you if you ever come this way.

P.S. A Danish doctor (Ph.D) and his nephew (Ph.D Emil Rasmussen) and Dr. Tausieng) cured me and many others with a new method of Rays from the Elements, this was in 1939. I should like to try to explain it to you. The organic minerals now in vogue here seem to be a MUCH CRUDER way of Rasmussen’s methods with ALL the elements.
